Angel Eyes?

Worked with a few ideas over the last few months and while a friend and I were working on his s2000 retrofit, we decided to intergrate the BMW E46 shrouds with CCFL tubes. The housings were painted Frozen Blue, but its tough to see at night. I took a few pics and realized these things are so bright! We will go out during dusk soon and get some more pics up probably tomorrow.
Please do not PM me and ask about prices or anything of that matter. This was a one time thing and if I do go ahead and starting offering these I will make a new thread about it.
Thanks and let me know what you think!

They are definitely different. Not sure if I like them or not, but I am leaning towards liking them.

I like them. If at any time you want to experiment on my car, feel free!
| amukaoen | 12-17-2006 03:25 AM |
Very cool. I like.
You need to find a way to wire a switch, so the driver can decide if they want just projectors, just angeleyes or both :)

That is hot ****, man. PLEASE consider doing this as a mod!!! I'll gladly buy it from you.

looks brighter than on my friend's 335...but still. nice touch up for the night.
| brcewane | 12-17-2006 09:46 AM |
Those look really.. nice. Did you just wire them into the parking lights.. that is what I did. Mine were already part of the projector so it was a bit easier for me :D

Thanks for the comments. I knew they werent for everyone, but I think the uniqueness factor is best about it...
They are wired up to the parking lights...
I will get some more pics up soon :)

never been a fan of angel eyes
never been a fan of ripping off another manufacturer
everyone knows they are a BMW thing
ya just look like you're trying too hard to be a BMW IMHO
for a show car? i suppose it's different, may score some points
but there's no way i'd rock it....
dont get me wrong :)
looks good tho.
and looks like you did a very professional job with the conversion.
just not for everyone (as stated)

Nice job. Post some pics of the lamps in the light with the lights off. I'm curious as to how the ring looks in the daytime.
Someone did that to an 06 a while back. Looks decent at night but not really during the day.

I absolutely love them. The top one seems to be too bright so it doesnt really look like a ring from far away (this might look different in person) like the bottom one does. I think the 04-05 up top would be the hawtness if the ring was less bright and more recognizable like the bugeye. Am I making any sense?

i saw ceaser's version in person last night. you can see the halo's very clearly even when the projectors are on. It's just the pictures for some reason blur them together.
| LightWerkz | 12-17-2006 01:39 PM |
Yeah the camera absorbs way too much light, like I said im going to snap a few more pics hopefully today if Renee isnt busy. They are crystal clear...
| 100_Percent_Juice | 12-17-2006 06:42 PM |
Awesome I cant wait to see more pics. You could always do them for my car and I will take pics for you with my nikon d2x. ;)

Those rings are really thick, you almost can't tell that they're angel eyes, maybe it's just the pic but that's what I'm seeing. If you check out www.umnitza.com you'll see the new ones that the bimmer guys are running now. Alot thinner and just as bright if not brighter.
| vwown3d | 12-20-2006 09:32 AM |
bump for a daytime pic, I actually like these because they are the ccfl's not the DIY led models. Im set to do my retro over xmas break but might incorperate these also!

it is just the picture, they are very visible during the day and night, even when the projector is on. ceasar and i will be taking better pics later today. im so happy with the way they turned out, these current pics dont give it justice !

They are not on an Impreza, but I've had angel eyes on my 05 LGT for over a year. Basically a DIY job. Here are a couple pics:

yes you have to start offerring these as an odd. Please!!! i need them, lol

Oh yea, why didn't you mount a set in the high beams too? That's how it is traditionally, I'm kinda on the fence about having just a set in the lowbeams.

You didn't have enough space to go around the projector/shroud itself or you guys chose not to?
| LightWerkz | 12-20-2006 07:17 PM |
CCFL ring was exactly 90mm, which is the size of the opening on the e46 shroud. We figured if it sat right in front of it, it would sort of appear to be floating, giving it a cool appearence...
| Knightmare69 | 12-20-2006 07:40 PM |
Ah I see. I had asked Umnitza about angel eyes for 04-05's and they said to give them the dimensions inside the headlight and they would see if any of their existing kits would work. I know on Clubwrx I saw a thread where they had started to initiate interest in the product. Maybe someone wants to be the test mule for them?
| LightWerkz | 12-20-2006 09:10 PM |
Those look kind of thin...
| 100_Percent_Juice | 12-21-2006 04:03 AM |
I have a few tips that I think would make it look better. Paint the chrome part inside the lowbeam since im guessing you dont need it because of the hid. That will make the ring more defined because it wont be reflecting off of that. Second, throw that ring into the highbeam and put a BIGGER ring into that spot.
