Impreza01 01-12-2007 09:19 PM

I would refuse to be the next car on the track in case that truck hits terminal understeer!
stevey323 01-12-2007 09:23 PM

lmfao
evoxd 01-12-2007 10:51 PM

That's how we roll.

Last time I was at the autox NorCal someone ran an F150 truck.. and he neglected to remove the CD holder from the visor. CDs were flying everywhere as he cornered. But, it wasn't as funny as this video.

The driver posted to the forum something like, "steering took so long I didn't know where full lock was until I hit it."
Mykl 01-13-2007 02:41 AM

That parking lot looks familiar...
engz 01-13-2007 03:18 AM

HAHA WOW!
andypress 01-13-2007 03:35 AM

Any idea on how it did?
menash23 01-13-2007 04:28 AM

wheres the old dog and 2 nakes kids on the back of the truck?
semaj 01-13-2007 08:24 AM

Ah yes, the classic "use reverse on the auto-x course when you don't have enough steering room" trick
jamesohoh7 01-13-2007 10:12 AM

More video of starter chick, perhaps? 'the pixelation, I can't tellz if she's teh hottness just yet!'

I dunno, +12 at least.
powerlabs 01-13-2007 11:32 AM

Nice, but I saw better.
Out at Lake Geneva someone autocrossed a Silverado and he beat the living crap out of it. He had it on 4 x 4 and was doing all wheel burnouts on corner exit and sliding it like a madman. A lot of people actually went for cover as he went by. Highly amusing :D

In the video you can hear the guy on the megaphone say "7 cones!" as the truck finishes. :p
remowgn 01-13-2007 01:22 PM

"He's using reverse!!!" I love it. How did he PAX?
MFR Sweep 01-13-2007 01:30 PM

isn't the minimum gate width 15ft? or is that just something I heard?
PA04STI 01-13-2007 01:50 PM

He needed to be pulling a camper
ratt_finkel 01-13-2007 02:27 PM

Funny stuff, I'm hoping to bring a limo out to a local autocross. The question is, should I bring the 12 passenger Town Car, or the 22 Passenger Hummer?
Crazyhippy 01-13-2007 02:41 PM

I autox'd a 99 F-350 Diesel. Also had a suburban running against me. He won because he didn't have to 3 point anywhere (damn crew cab long bed). I was Only 2.5 x the FTD, LOL
carl s. 01-13-2007 02:48 PM

i personally thought the best part was listening to the engine. sounds like it was at idle most of the time lol
flyboymike 01-13-2007 04:00 PM

Sweet. Mykl, did you happen to be on hand for that one?

In Middle Georgia, a guy was running the Dodge SRT-10 truck for a few events. It was fun running right behind him and seeing him lay down rubber for about a hundred feet, then braking for that first turn. He really could've used a drag strip or some bales of hay or something.

Nope. :( That was before my time (vid says 2003), I've only been autocrossing since about last April or so.

404 -amusing not found

just dangerous/stupid

smart regions don't let high center of gravity vehicles run ..

you roll one truck, kill the driver and no more autocross for the region ..
MRF582 01-14-2007 02:34 PM

dude, you can't roll a dualie unless you're towing something. we've got a video here of a dualie being driven to the edge and it doesn't look like it's going to roll over at any point at all.

Ive seen many trucks run and never seen any in danger of rolling, hell they dont even lift wheels. Biggest issue we ever had with a truck here is there was one that tripped the timing lights twice.
rt4me 01-15-2007 08:43 AM

I've seen a BMW X5 run on a fast course before (60+ mph). It was a bit scary looking the amount of lean it had going. Stayed roof side up though.

electricpork 01-16-2007 12:29 AM

honestly though, for being what it is and doing +14 and all, his driving was surprisingly smooth! :p

I got the impression he was a regular at the region's autox and ran his truck for kicks. He does after all post to sccaforums.com

You think that thing had enough lateral grip to roll? Wow. You have more faith in truck tires than me.
Howl 01-16-2007 01:10 PM

We usually have a few smaller 2WD pick-ups (B2000's, Ranger's) and an old Mercury Couger out at our RallyX's. They've made an unofficial RWD class for them. They may not be fast, but they are certainly crowd favorites. Never seen a dually before though.
