JFORTIN 01-19-2006 02:09 PM

aswesom Vids !
skuttledude 01-19-2006 02:58 PM

Great stuff Pat!
patr 01-19-2006 03:53 PM

thanks for the props guys

if you listen carefully and correlate the notes to the jumps and stuff you can see there is some serious hang time on that stage... plus a lot of 6th gear stuff which is always nice.

the 'drivers view' and 'external view' will be up very shortly
Prometheus_6k_rpm 01-19-2006 04:16 PM

Pat, what happened during the "ohh *****" moment?
patr 01-19-2006 04:47 PM

you'll have to wait for the in-car :-)

that whole stage was wet and a bit muddy, and the note was 'left five tightens' so you can picture in your mind probably just a wee bit of understeer at high speed with trees on both sides leads to some interesting potty mouth
Prometheus_6k_rpm 01-19-2006 04:52 PM

I was surprised you didn't say "hell yeah! wasn't that a huge f'in jump!"

I can't wait to see you at 100 Acre Wood.

The LWBs are car eaters.
j y 01-19-2006 04:59 PM

we'll need to see a bigger screenshot of nathalie's face during the biggie air pat. i think it's one of those "priceless" moments, but it's hard to tell from the video. lol

my quicktime alternative ( i refuse to install QT) won't play the video part :(

also, I don't see you on the sno drift entry list, you comin or what?

greg is racing finally
8Complex 01-19-2006 07:02 PM

My Quicktime (real QT) won't play the video part, either. Seems to want a different codec or something, but it's not coming out and actually saying it.
erich_sc 01-19-2006 07:53 PM

My real QT works great. Do you have the newest version?
mike270 01-19-2006 07:55 PM

Hey Pat, are you screwing the shift knob back on in the video? I saw a few times it looks like it but I could be mistaken. That would be a little unnerving to have the shift knob loose when shifting from 5th to 6th.
super-ru 01-19-2006 08:33 PM

Bitchen video! That last jump seemd fun, hahah!
vintagemilano 01-19-2006 08:49 PM

It would seem that you need the latest quicktime and xp for those pc users. One of those times it pays to have and apple I guess.
patr 01-19-2006 09:05 PM

yes I am screwing the shift knob back on - good eyes ! this was a 25 minute long stage, but only showing the very last few minutes. On a stage that long its easy to have something funky like the knob loosen - so that is why I was one-handing it a bit there

as for the qt... I dont know, it works on all the PCs and Mac and the linux box here at the shop.. so what can I say ? But the PCs are running XP...
Dan McGinn 01-19-2006 10:22 PM

Makes me want to drive!
I remember seeing their car at the end of MFR 2004, glad they got back on their feet and kicked but in 2005!
drifter dave 01-19-2006 10:25 PM

Pat and Jamie,

That made my day, thanks for sharing. Just got hired at EA so I may be contacting you RE some dyno time (I do audio). Loving the reflash. Later,

Dorian
davis10 01-19-2006 10:33 PM

Wow I had no idea that rally drivers did that much clutchless downshifting!
tora 01-19-2006 11:53 PM

Hey Dorian, congrats on the new job! Was that your car at the Rec Centre by the pool the other night? There was a silver STi that I parked beside and I left by business card on the driver's window....but I left before the car did so not sure if they got it, and it was raining when I left.

Anyways, look forward to hearing from you, and again congrats on getting in with a great company. I have a few friends/clients working there.

no no, only the better guys with money have dogboxes ;)

most of them have regular trannies ;)
Predwolf 01-20-2006 03:17 AM

Us mere mortals only have regular trannies ;)
Fixed ;)

I have to say, everytime I watch one of Pat's videos, I always want to learn something. It's just that, he's so good, I don't know where to start.
Bishop 01-20-2006 03:31 AM

great vids!! now where can i get that center pod in the "Testing in Corsica" vid?
shemoves 01-20-2006 03:32 AM

wow...
XenoWolf 01-20-2006 09:06 AM

Pat, you're a ****ing monster. Are you running the Sno*Drift next weekend? I don't see you on the entry list...
Calamity Jesus 01-20-2006 09:26 AM

Watching the trees whizz by for so long after a shift to 6th makes me nervous. It's like being a rear-facing passenger in the back of an old station wagon while you're dad gets road rage on a logging road.

Love the dog box.. those shifts are so fast and fierce. Do you use the stock linkage, or have you beefed those parts up to withstand the beating?

Ditto here and it's a white screen with Audio in the background.

I had to go to apple and DL the latest version of QT to get it to play.

Before I did that, I clicked the "check for updates" button in my old version, and it said I had the latest.

This computer is 3 months old, so my "old" version wasn't very old...
cowapult 01-20-2006 01:19 PM

Great video!

I can't Update because then my Adobe Imageready will no longer work, the only reason why I got the older version (1 version behind)

I hope Adobe does fix it.

Took me forever to find out that QT was the cause of Adobe Imageready no longer to work for importing video files.
leecea 01-20-2006 08:40 PM

Finally able to see this (QT 7.0.4)! Incredible

You'll notice that the audio dips after the jump, and Pat's lips move...I'll leave it to you to lip-read ;)

Just as an FYI VLC plays just about everything (WMV, QT, AVI, etc) and has clients for Mac, Windows, Linux, BEOS, CE, Zaurus, etc..
patr 01-22-2006 11:14 PM

we're seeing if we can 'downgrade' the format.. but everyone who has the latest version so far is having no problems.

thanks for the kind words !

On snodrift, unfortunately we have not been able to secure any significant commercial interest for the 2006 season so we have not made plans to go. Hopefully we will have something in the works to attend the events later in the season. I'd love to take a stab at a hat-trick on the US titles :-)

Re: the gauge pod - I am sorry but I am not sure what you are talking about ?

:(

I better get to see you atleast once this season, or there'll be HELL to pay!

Are you running the CARS schedule this season? I'm thinking I might run up there for one or two of the Quebec/Ontario rallies.
patr 01-23-2006 03:10 PM

j-bishop - email me at "][emailprotected] and I can give you some more info... its kind of 'big'

At the moment anything is possible but nothing is confirmed.
Ryan24 01-25-2006 01:11 AM

I love the fact that Nathalie had enough time to wave at either spectators or workers and didn't miss a step in the notes :)
I hope you make it across the border to the Northwest again this year, I might just have to park the rally car and spectate a bit :D
