Do you ever turn your fog lights off?

I never mess with my foglights, unless I'm bored. I just leave them on all the time with the lowbeams. I don't even know why I have a foglight button. Do you turn yours off?

i have solid fog covers, so mine stay off.

I think they look nice on, plus mine are as yellow as a Lexus IS! Wo0t!
| Handsdown | 02-05-2005 06:26 PM |
i'm going to be installing some crappy yellow ones that are aftermarket, so i'll probably rock them off most of the time to avoid 5-0

Driving with fog lights cuts down on your distance vision at night. I only have them on when it's a) foggy, or b) I want a better idea if the road is frozen or just wet.

Sir, I applaud you. This is exactly how fogs are meant to be used.

I dont rock the fogs unless I actually need them I noticed that the WRX fogs are ultra bright and I don't realy liek being rude to other drivers. I would however like to find a way to give them a slight glow at night via a low watage aux bulb or something like that. I think that would be kind of cool.

I have the solution for you:
replace the stock fogs with the Hella FF1000s with City Light.... at www.rallylights.com it's called:
HL74532K FF1000 Driving Beam w/ City Light Lamp Kit
and sells for 176.80. You'd also need the WRX brackets to mount them to your car and you'd need to re-wire the switch so that they actuate with highbeams not lowbeams.

i leave em on....seems to help me see better...more so than my high beams in fact...maybe it's cause i live in sorta the country

i always rock the fog lights on. tell lyou the truth , i can't really see without them on.
i kinda wish that the 04 fog lights were larger too like the 02-03. but then again, they would probably crack easier too from rocks or debree.

Love the fogs...especially since I did the fog light mod (work without having to use the headlights)

U know, u could get JDM Foglights then put Lamin-X Protective film, to help prevent cracking.

I got Hella 500 Driving lights in the stock space. I rock them all the time and I like it. Also added Rock-blockers so they're bullet proof.
| Seranin | 02-06-2005 12:39 AM |
almost never use them. they do nothing...maybe they're not adjusted correctly, or the HIDs just overpower them. Bought these JDMs for the weight savings of the bumper beam and cause i hate the way the stock fog light covers look :)
| gerbs | 02-06-2005 12:46 AM |
blind w/o em :X
| SubieRX | 02-06-2005 03:04 AM |
Used to rock them all the time on my 02. Still wish I had the jdm fogs for my sti
| brunetmj | 02-06-2005 10:31 AM |
I like them most of the time mainly because I forget to turn them off.. They are particularly useful in really bad snowstorms when using a good yellow bulb to cut through the glare.
| Biggs | 02-06-2005 01:36 PM |
I use them because it looks cool and I have better visibility on the road directly in front of me which is helpful since our roads here in Central Point are filled with potholes.

I have an 02 RS and I just put in Phillips Silverstars on all front lights and I rock 'em all the time. It just doesn't look right any other way. Personally I do it to make up for all the idiots who drive until dark with no lights at all.

prob a stupid question but people with the mesh covers, how do they look through the mesh? any difference?

I used to drive with mine on all the time.
I don't really want to do that with the FF1000s though, lol.

Which kind of FF1000's did you get?
| Vew | 02-07-2005 12:31 AM |
I don't like to leave them on since they're only really needed in wet conditions, but I find myself leaving them on because when I flash my lights to let people out, they never move because they have a hard time telling my driving lights between my highbeams. When I flash them with my fogs on, the foglights go off and highbeams turn on. Then they usually get the picture and don't make me sit there waiting and holding up traffic.

My left one is out and has been for 6 months and have yet to replace it... someone give me a part number and a site and if its affordable I will replce and use them 24/7 again
| sirbryanclark | 02-07-2005 03:37 AM |
Go to your local auto parts store and pick some up... they are not expensive... they are H3 bulbs if i remember right.

I always use my fogs... JDM's w/ multi-coated lens... Light looks great... Love'em. :)

When I had my 02 RS, I would never turn them off, but with the 04 WRX, they're too hideous to leave on.
