enkei rpf1?

I've been looking at these for quite somtime, but not sure if I should ditch my old wheels for these. Right now I'm on Gram light 57pro's. By going with the Enkei's i'll be saving alot of weight. Obviously I would go with the gold again. Please help me make up my mind. Heres my car now:

IMO those look better than the enkei's do on subarus, but if you think the weight savings is worth it then it's all on you.

i honestly think the rpf1's were made for the impreza's. they look amazing, very affordable and lightweight. i know for a fact that those 57pro's are at least 20+ lbs; the fact that they're 2 piece. i'd say swap them and maybe save a few bucks.

yea I was thinking I could make a few extra bucks and save weight at the same time. I'm also getting tired of the polished lip look as well.

Go for it. I wanted thr RFP 1s but my wife said they were to ugly. I ended up with SSR type c rs wheels. Maybe I'll get a set of RFP 1s for track use or something.
| WRX_tougue_squirrel | 09-15-2006 11:40 AM |
i think the 57's look better, but i suppose thats just opinion. in the end its ur car and ur wheels. they both good so either way ur not loosing out. i just like the lip. hmmmm thinking about getting some in black gram lights that is
| MidnightBlackPearl | 09-15-2006 11:43 AM |
Switch em. RPF-1s are sweet-looking. The polished lip look has been killed by it becoming the trend, so now it's way overplayed.
| littlewhitewagon | 09-15-2006 11:46 AM |
RPF1 is more function than fashion. But you ultimately have to make the choice.

Not like those are bad wheels either way.
My next set of wheels will be RPF1's, but hopefully in 17x9.

After having the RPF1s on my last car, I can tell you that people will think you are running 16s because of the added solid portion inward of the lip. Other than that they are great, athough I did end up with a very minor bend in one wheel after a few track days...not sure exactly where I got it.
| REVNU | 09-15-2006 12:24 PM |
^^^
I get that A LOT. It is funny how everyone thinks they're 16's. At one point I almost got rid of them and got the 18's so they would look like 17's. :D Oh well, I didn't get them for the Bling Factor to please everyone else. Great wheels, especially for how cheap they are.

JDM_OBP and Bogus, your cars look so sick. I'm looking into getting RPF1s for my own car. However, I'll have to get silver because AFAIK, you can not get them in gold for the 114 BP. :T I don't mind, though, I think I'd end up getting them powder coated in bronze or gunmetal. RPF1s are not the greatest looking design, but they still look nice IMO and are extremely light.

2 winters so far on my RPF-1s with Hakka 2's. 3rd one coming. Only slight curb rash on 2 from granite curbing hidden beneath snow. They have tolerated potholes well and are still round and balanced. Just picked up a second set from World One Performance for autoX wheels.

off topic sorry, but can you post up pics of the ssr's? :)
id say go for the rpf1. i love how they look, and they would look very good with gold on a black car.

One word of advice... DO NOT powdercoat the RPF1's. My friend made that mistake after I advised him not to. The RPF1's use a "pourous" alloy and getting the powdercoat to stick to them was a real pain. After the powdercoat shop finally got it on there (4 tries later), the strength of the wheels was shot from the heating and cooling process. I would suggest getting them PAINTED at a good shop that specializes in painting wheels.

Thanks, just by looking at it, I thought powdercoating might not have been the way to go. I honestly wouldn't mind leaving them silver, which I might just do.

Anyone manage to run em on 05+ STi's ?
The highest offset on 18's is +35 I think ....
I get alot of "I don't think so's" with this question but I haven't found anyone who's tried it.
