Help me choose a front end- STi or JUN?

I can't decide how I want to do things. Here is my car now (pictures are not up to date, I have brembos and a sti hood scoop now):

I like how it looks, but a couple things, the lip is angled up from the side, so it's not as aggressive. Also my entire front end is completely hosed, chipped and dinged from 400 mile roadtrips every couple weeks. It's going to have to be repainted. Maybe respray the car in farrari titanium silver like that pimp wagon a while back. I will be doing some power mods too, so try to imagine a black APS FMIC. Also I will be getting a sti grill for sure. So my options are:
1 - keep what I have, and just repaint it all.
2 - sti version 2 front lip. same as mine, better fit, looks like it's more agressive

I dunno yet, I think I like the Jun bumper too but i'm not certain yet...The part that i definately dont like on it are the sides of the bumber, too bulky lookin and box like. Get some more opinions and see what the concensus is...

silverf4turbo - WOW! thanks man! that looks awesome! To be honest I may take the eyelids off, but wow, the added color and my horns look sweet!
I wonder if I'll have enough cash left over this summer to respray the car a different color, specifically, the one in your photoshop, lol!

does the v2 lip sit any lower than the v1? i like it alot, but i dont want it to sit to high off the ground with my car lowered on perrin springs
| Homemade WRX | 02-24-2005 10:09 PM |
if I had to choose based on aerodynamics, it would be the Jun but I like the ver 2 front lip
| squabbin | 02-24-2005 10:23 PM |
Yeah, Gruppe-S says that JUN replica has a fitament quality of B+ which doesnt cut it in my book, plus its made of fiber glass. I'm probably gonna end up going with the STI V2 because it fits like a glove (A+) and its also made of ABS plastic which is a lot better in my opinion as well...
| kogs | 02-25-2005 01:00 PM |
Id go with the v2. If im paying that much money for either a lip or front bumper, you should get a perfect fit. Im also not a big fan of fiberglass. Just woundering though, how high does the v2 sit from the ground? Im asking because for a few weeks where I live we get about half a foot of snow, and i want to know if it will scrape.

I vote "D", Aqua front bumper.

I'll take the aqua front fenders though!

i would avoid the Jun just because of the fibreglass.
have you thought of the Trial?

everyone seems to think the JUN is gonna explode because it's fiberglass, what if I stuck some styrofoam in the lip area? I'd mold it to fit and glue it in. That would absorb a lot of the impact right? Would it work?

If i got the JUN, i'd put a CF splitter underneath. looks good and protects against impacts to the bottom of the bumper.
| Blue Rabbit 02 | 02-26-2005 07:01 PM |
dont get a jun replica. period. i like the looks of the genuine alot, but the replica just doesnt cut it in the fit department.
the trials an awesome look and few have it. +1 here.

I dunno i thought the fitment looked pretty decent for the JUN replica, it might be a bit saggy around the headlights, but imo it looks good...
I dont think putting styrofoam would do any bit of good though. The fiberglass would be the first to take the impact and it doesnt really give at all. Too bad this wasnt made in urethane :(

Is the actual JUN bumper made of fiberglass? How much is it compared to the replica?
| Handsdown | 02-27-2005 01:58 AM |
it is made of FRP, like the replica, and it's about $500 more
i don't like mine, i only got it because my stock one was ripped up pretty badly and it was cheaper to buy mine off of Whiterabbit rather than repair and repaint my stocker.
if i were you, i'd go with stock and the trial lip.

I have a Trail fron tlip for sale. New un-painted shipped from Japan to my house. I am kinda thinkin I want JUN now. Someone want to trade JUN front/replica for it? I can fix fittment issues with fiberglass...... :)
The Trial does crack when you install them around the fog lights btw. I strengthened it alot with fiberglass from behind. about 1/8 of an inch. Such a nice piece man. Pics do not do it justice. In person, on the car, it is very impressive. Another guy locally has it installed.

I like my Jun bumper, but there are definetly a lot of fitment issues with the replica. I'm also not a big fan of the fiberglass, I've cracked the bumper 3 times.

F- That. dude, we talked a while ago about this, i say go for a TRIAL lip, like ghost rider said.
<------ has a replica JUN front and i don't like it one bit. liked it for a while, but now that i've had it i'm tired of the look, tired of the weight, tired of the fiberglass, tired of the fitment...
go with a lip, and go with something that not too many people have. i've only seen trial on three cars on here. go TRIAL
