Yes.
Are you planning on tinting the driver/passenger windows as well? The fix-it ticket is worth the advantages imho.

Get a light tint, something like smoke. The dark limo tint looks best on dark color cars. Too much contrast between the silver and the super dark tint. I wonder how a mirrorish, titanium tint would look . . .

OH YEAH!!!!
I have an '03 silver WRX wagon and I tinted all my windows, including the two fronts, with 35% tint (the next step darker from 50%). I absolutely love it. It cuts down on the glare and isn't too dark to attract too much attention. I also got the sunstrip across the windshield, which I feel really ties the tint together around the whole car.

I say don't tint it. I had my car tinted 35% all around, I don't think it looks very good, but my car is white. If you do get it tinted just tint the back windows (Sti style).:)

Sorry to get OT, but what rims are those? Look kinda like SSR's or black racing P1's in terms of shape. Any info on specifics including kind, size, price, etc, and where you got em would be appreciated. thanks.

i say tint it. i have a silver sedan and i think the 35 all the way around finished her off just nicely and goes great with the silver. thats just my .02 though
the photochop that bakedcookies did is ok but my 35s look a little darker than that.

those look like SSR comps in silver 17x7.5's.
| slvrwgn | 04-29-2003 05:17 PM |
I like the 50% too, but just a bit too light for my tastes. I'd go with 35%.
Whatever you decide, I'd make sure that all your windows are the same. It looks tacky when the back is darker than the front, IMHO.
BTW - Nice wagon. I have a silver wagon too and would love those wheels, but am buying some Rota Attacks because I can't afford the SSRs. Happy Driving :)

Remember that the dark interior of the car makes the tint looks darker than it actually is. I got 15% rear and 35% tint in the front, the kinda silvery platinum film, on my 03 Silver Sedan. I think it looks good, but it's definately dark. Helps on those very sunny days in California.
And, being in CA, I'm just waiting for a fix-it ticket. :(

Also like someone already said, get those skirts painted unless you're going to be doing a lot of off raod driving.

yeah definitely go the same % all the way around. my 35 all the way around is illegal in VA but it has been 5 months now and no one has stopped me
/me knocks on wood
the only downside is that you can't do a scooby wave to people cause they can't see you :-(

damn, so when you get the fix-it ticket, you will have to remove the front ones? :( IMO, the reason why I want a tinted front, is to prevent the sun from hitting my skin. I'm dark enough, and ONLY my left arm is darker on summer
Now I know I cant have a tinted front windows, it doesnt make sense for me to get the rear done.

That 50% pshop looks just like my 35% (well, maybe a teenie bit lighter)...

I'd do 35%, I have yet to be bothered by the man, and it looks really great. On top of this, I can see out of it just fine at night...

I second that opinion on 35%
I've had it for months and have never even had a second look by the cops (gotta give props to driving a wagon)
And it is easy to see out of at night, which was one of my main concerns before tinting my windows.
35% all the way around and you won't be disappointed!!!

u did the fronts too, huh? cops may have a fun time harrasing you.
i thought you were only gonnna do the rear sides and rear window. i lived in LA for about 3 years with front windows tinted on my 98 prelude but i was ok from cops. i did get harrassed by a dumb ass cop who says he recently bought a 02RS that pulled me over here in chi-town.

I am getting 28% done all the way around and strip for the windshield next week with Formula 1. I saw another guys WRX that got tinted from the same place that I am going to and it looks sweet. They do a micro edge so the tint runs up to about a finger nails width from the windows edge. That way it looks like the glass is colored instead of a tint film.

Formula One in La Crescenta ... take the Penn. Exit off of the 210, right, left onto Foothill Blvd. 3637, (818) 249-8282. Tiny place ... but the Korean fellow is meticulous. $260 ... took a couple of hours.
Put a piece of tape across your electric window lift buttons ... so you don't accidentally open then for the first 24 hours ... DO IT RIGHT AWY ... have him do it so you don't have an accident like someone I know ... but it doesn't seem to have "hurt" the window before it was completely dry ...
He advised against getting the front window strip ... says it doesn't not look good on cars ... looks cheap ... sorry Fajaah ...

as I said ... a couple of hours ... almost exactly ... if you are hanging around ... walk west down Foothill ... past the BurgerKing ... and you'll find a good Coffee shop next to the Korean restaurant. The Cafe across the street from the tinter isn't very good ...
| Fajaah | 05-01-2003 01:08 PM |
That type of tint (Formula 1) doesnt look good as a windshield strip or he just doesnt like the strips no matter what tint?
Is that the Premier or Ultimate? $260! yikes things really are more expensive in CA. I got quoted $185 for the Premier and $165 for the Comfort series.
Oh your car looks sweet. I have a silver wagon as well!

Premier ... he just advised against it - windshield strip - in general, for cars. I think he's right ... I guess that is what makes our WRX's relatively inexpensive for the performance level ... they don't even give you any tinting across the front window.

Digitalpose is eating up the pics.
I'll try and get a specific one of the windshield drop.
Yeah, it's a sharp, defined line, not a fade in like many factory tints, but personally like it.
It's akin to people having ricey motorsport logo banners, but since it's just tint, it comes off very clean.

Mako, I think the wagon looks terrific with the 35%. I just bought an 04 silver wagon (haven't even taken delivery yet) and I was wondering what a light tint--50 or 35--would look like.
You know what you should do now? Swap out the side markers for clear ones. Then it's nothing but silver and black. Smooth.
