JDM side marker installed on 02 WRX

Here are some pictures from today's install. Hardest thing was finding a place that sells nibbler as many places did not even know what nibbler was (Lowe's, Auto zone, Sears, etc). :)

Radio Shack does not sell the nibbler tool in stores anymore. You can buy it online or Fry's Electronics.

I just did this a little while back, and like you, I was very nervous about cutting a hole in a perfectly good fender. As a result, I spent a lot of time on layout before I started cutting.
There are templates available on this forum ... a quick search will find them. I didn't trust the templates 100% for the cutout shape, so I used my trusty nibbler to cut a test hole in a piece of scrap sheetmetal. I would HIGHLY recommend this!!!
In the pic below, you can see the paper template taped (w/ WRB masking tape, of course :D) to the fender, with the metal template taped over the paper. I punched a few holes in the guide lines of the paper template, so I could better see to line the template up. Trace the hole on to the tape on the fender, drill a hole in the center to get the nibbler started, and "nibble" up close to the trace lines. Use a small file to do the final cutting/shaping.
On a side note ... if you wire the marker lights between the blinker and ground, they will operate as blinkers only. If you wire them between the blinker and parking light, they will operate as blinkers when the headlights are off and running lights/blinkers when the headlights are on.

It will prob be too bulky to work but i think it will work somewhat..
If not il just use a dremel and be extremely careful... sadness

I believe there is a thread on scoobymods.com that has the template as an attachment that you can download. I found it there sometime last year...

Having a Shop cut my fenders for me Friday! Save me the headache of doing it my self
I ordered a nibbler but its positioned wrong so I cant cut from above, I have gone to 10+ tool stores and they all look at me with ??? on there face.
I went to biltema basically its the equivalent of harbor freights, and they were the only ones to have it but alas in the wrong position.
SO I given up and now taking it to the shop and have my wideband bung welded at the same time.
