my camera phone takes crappy pics but i love this shift knob i paid $150 from subydude.com and got it in three days. i have the 04 oem knob the 06 oem knob and the optional titanium knob and the solberg knob is just right. i may be interested in selling the three other knobs i have as i believe that the solberg will be a keeper. it fits great and is just a damm sexy shift knob.
just wanted to share my joy sorry no pics.

IronMonkeyL255 03-04-2006 12:27 AM

What's it made out of?

Looks nice. Very tasteful.
drain bramage 03-04-2006 12:38 AM

nice..... but $150 nice
i dont think so.. just my 2 cents ( i do like it though)
Axan 03-04-2006 02:35 AM

youch $150 for shift knob? DAMN
KAX 03-04-2006 03:20 AM

yeh, doesnt look special edition enough for $150. If it were cheaper id be all over it, it does look like it would be comfortable to grip.
DrD 03-04-2006 09:17 AM
What's it made out of?
from the pictures, I would guess aluminum
phwanc 03-04-2006 09:26 AM

High quality still doesn't justify 150 bucks! Is there like a tiny 1" LCD screen on the back or something?

keaniegenie 03-04-2006 11:13 AM

Still waiting for a round leather screw on shift knowb.

$150 is stiff. Tell us it's worth it once it's on.
wrxsubaruwrx 03-04-2006 12:00 PM

LOL@$150 for a shift knob  .....It is a NICE knob though ..just $100 more than I would pay for it .
john_matrix 03-04-2006 12:27 PM

It would be too cold for me in the winter.

I do like it though.
mrwrx2002 03-04-2006 01:15 PM

I like it a lot.

dont think id buy it tho
gjhsu 03-04-2006 02:36 PM

Looks nice.

People spend more money on equally "less than vital" parts of their car.... so as long as you're happy, more power to you.
anthony_delprete84 03-04-2006 02:42 PM

75 more than what i would have paid, if im payin that kind of money im gettin a top of the line momo knob
gjhsu 03-04-2006 02:55 PM

Seriously, though, what's the difference? Top of the line Momo.... top of the line STi.....
shikataganai 03-04-2006 03:03 PM
Seriously, though, what's the difference? Top of the line Momo.... top of the line STi.....
momos have more speed holes

anyway, nice knob. i was looking for something solid and not too short, and was attracted to that knob as well (in a non-homoerotic way :D) until i saw the pricetag. i ended up with a new '05 LGT knob from www.subarugenuineparts.com, a nasioc vendor
KAX 03-04-2006 03:43 PM
i ended up with a new '05 LGT knob from www.subarugenuineparts.com, a nasioc vendor
whats so special about the Legacy knob? Ive never understood that, it looks like the stock WRX knob to me. i never had the stock WRX knob so i dont know for sure, but it looks the same.
shikataganai 03-04-2006 03:51 PM

LGT '05:

clearly the LGT knob is about 5x larger! it is different, however. look at the shape and the top of the knob in particular.

KAX 03-04-2006 04:13 PM

ah, the picture i saw of it, looked exactly like the top pic. But i see now, that is much nicer.
Rev1 03-04-2006 04:17 PM

Price is what makes it limited edition, only "limited" amounts of people will fork down 150 bucks for it. It's very hard to get...
moss 03-04-2006 04:38 PM

I have 2 5spd ones

How limited is that?
MattDell 03-04-2006 05:14 PM

$150
proletariandan 03-04-2006 09:41 PM

Subaru value :( It had better be made of Petter's bone for that price
ducmaan748 03-04-2006 09:43 PM

very nice shift knob
WrexT 03-05-2006 12:16 AM

Nice, but it will freeze you in the winter and in the summer you will have the shift pattern branded into your hand!
wrb2006sti 03-05-2006 12:58 AM

i guess i have been working since i was 10 now i will be 40 in a few weeks and since i pick cars i like that i wont be modding engine wise i went for this. it came in a jdm subaru box and $20's are like $1's to me i have been very lucky to make decent money my whole life so i feel the price justifies the knob for me at least. plus it will
be easy to take off when i get the 07 limited STI in a few months. i just love cars and cant keep one very long as there is always something else coming out. i know i waist money im the first to admit it but what the hell else will i do with it all. i cant take it with me might as well have things that make me happy. i think alot of things are a waist of money but i dont like to take bad about others i guess its just the age in me.

right..... he probably never won a spelling bee either.... nice knob man, thanks for the heads up.
wrb2006sti 03-05-2006 03:01 AM

periods are overrated anyways. im so used to text messaging and with my wife in the philippines we get like 153 letters per text so i often leave them out i just take a big breath before hand. ha ha

lol! and you bought a 30k high performance ricecar! i mean race car...

you tool
johnnyb 03-05-2006 01:25 PM

Must look really good with the STI shift trim. I would get that if it wasn't $150.00.

Then again, I am installing a $145.00 set of smoke corner markers and oval lights today.

Good chioce.

Just kidding.... if it looks cool and you like it.... more power to ya....
168 03-08-2006 03:29 PM

I think this was the shift knob Subaru Canada gave away in 2004 to celebrate Petter's 2003 season. 200 went to WRX purchasers and 100 to STi.
toekneeyo 03-08-2006 03:49 PM

it's just an sti stainless steel shift knob right?

http://www.renickmotorsports.com/oscommerce/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=676_682_677&products_id=1434

where does it say solberg? are you a fan?

cause u just got hustled... $150... wow.
IIdiceII 03-08-2006 04:38 PM

I dont see spending 150 dollars on a shift knob being that bad. you use it a lot. if it feels good, and you like it, thats all that matters. ive seen people spend 150 dollars on much stupider things **cough**BOV**cough** I spent around 30 dollars on mine becasue i cant really afford that much and i love the feel of the kartboy, very similar to the wrc shiftknob. any pics of it installed?
drth_sti 03-08-2006 04:41 PM

haha
the dude likes knobs!

hehehe

I really like that shift knob, but where are you finding it on the Subaru Genuine parts website? All I can find is the link to buy one that, in the picture, looks identical to an OEM WRX knob:

Legacy Knob

Thanks!
Thumper23 03-08-2006 04:47 PM

its a good looking knob, I would love to have one, except that is costs $150, that and its freaking cold up here
Roamin'Coyote 03-08-2006 04:49 PM

lessee....lets plug in shift knob....it's the LGT's (05) knob....:D

Jonnyfilmboy 03-08-2006 08:32 PM

I agree with you that $150 is not too much to spend on something you like. Whether it is fog lights, a gurneyflap, or whatever.

I found this one a while ago and have been looking for it ever since. Thanks toekneeyo!!

JDM STi black titanium shift knob. $69.
Rev1 03-08-2006 08:38 PM

IIRC, that Subaru shiftknob, the $150 one, was given for free to those that bought an 04 or 05 STi in Canada or something like that, I don't remember what year exactly. It was like a Petter Solberg set or something, it also incluyed a little commemorative placquard.

Adding to what 168 posted:

Keychain, knob and a placard. Pretty sweet deal.

Would I pay $150. Nope. Who cares anyways, you can do whatever you want with your money. Don't listen to these fools

Knob looks great!

Guy's who the hell cares how much it cost? If you can afford it and it works well, looks good and makes you happy then it's well worth it.

I've been thinking about getting one also. Although I'm a bit worried how it feels in the extreme hot and cold. Don't want to drop the $150.00 only to be dissatisfied with it.
