Looking for a gauge with a black face and green lighting
What brand and model number makes a gauge with a black face with green lighting? The size would be 60mm, and please no autometer gauges.

from the top of my head: defi link series, greddy.

I have the greddy black face with green lighting
PinnacleChronos 12-13-2004 07:38 AM

what color is the needle? does it look stock when lit? does it read in psi/hg?
z wrx 12-13-2004 07:47 AM

Defi Links are black faced / green lighting / red needles. Looks brighter than stock and can read in PSI or metric.

I believe Greddy only reads in metric. Dunno what color needle it is though.
bobsrex 12-13-2004 08:44 AM

i dont know if omori makes em that big but they fit your color requirements...
Wraith 12-13-2004 09:46 AM

Greddy matches the WRX guages perfectly
garie 12-13-2004 10:00 AM

greddy
Rojorex 12-13-2004 11:56 AM

Iirc, the Greddy needles are white during the day (not lit) and light up yellow at night. They are a very good match... Greddys are only metric, however.

Omori "wrx-look" gauges are the others that match well for that color scheme.

Thats what I was looking for, something to match. :D
Wraith 12-13-2004 01:02 PM

And reading bar measurement instead of PSI isn't that bad, .5 bar is about 7.5lbs of boost so you figure a bar is like 15 pounds
pottymouth 12-13-2004 02:12 PM

I just installed some Omori's and they match the '04 perfectly. The little light control box allows you to make the light any color you want. They also make 60mm gauges.

Boost is in LBS also.
Alizarin 12-13-2004 02:16 PM

I have some Defi Link gauges in my 04, and they match pretty well. The green is a little darker than stock, and the gauges by themselves are really bright. I put a little trimmer pot circuit in-line with the illumination wire so I can adjust the brightness independant of the dimmer on the turn signal stick. With that I matched the brightness level up pretty decently. If you want I can try to get a pic tonight when it gets dark.

alizarin, id like to see a pic. if you cant post email me at [emailprotected]
Wraith 12-13-2004 04:06 PM

They should make that "post your guages setup" a sticky. You can see plenty of setups including all talked about here in that thread if you search for it.
WgnWheel 12-13-2004 06:04 PM

yep i have the greddy black face/green lighting and they match perfect......
PinnacleChronos 12-13-2004 07:00 PM

i dont thinki've seen anybody with the greddy gauges lit up at nite on that thread. I heard VDO is cheap and looks stock too?
Wraith 12-13-2004 07:35 PM

Yeah there are greddys at night in there, you just have to look through them

I should take a pic of mine with my good camera and post it in that thread. I just keep forgetting. It's a stock pod modified for the 52mm Defi gauges. Anyways, I took a pic this morning with my cell phone camera. It's not the best quality, but it works I guess in terms of the color difference and brightness.

[Edit: That does look like crap. I'll take a good pic with my camera when I get home and just replace the pic in this post with it. Stay tuned ;)]

You can get some Omoris from J-spec Tuning.. I'm pretty sure they have some that match the 04's.

omori's, defi's are on the expensive side. if i wanted a stock look i heard VDO and autometer sport comp are good solutions. anybody have experience with vdo vision series gauges? any other choices for an inexpensive matching look? i would go with greddys but i dun like the bar measurement ;/
deebo 12-15-2004 10:13 PM

i like my omori boost gauge.. good stuff.. matches the green stock lighting pretty well
shadyrex 12-15-2004 11:42 PM

I love my VDOs, they match the stock green perfect. Get em cheap here

PinnacleChronos 12-16-2004 02:37 PM

nice, what tubing would be best to get, length material? does the probe come with tubing or gauge? cuz i heard VDO probe was bad but autometer's was good
Jared703 12-16-2004 02:44 PM

here are my 60mm omori's.. black w/green lighting.

shadyrex 12-16-2004 04:00 PM

I used a leftover boost line kit from an autometer guage(plastic tubing) and I haven't had any issues with it. As for the EGT probe, it's a little slow but I'm satified with it, you can always buy the autometer probe and use that with it instead.
PinnacleChronos 12-17-2004 02:22 AM

the probe comes with the gauge or the tubing? whats difference between copper and nylon tubing? and 6' should be enuff right?
dorrington 12-17-2004 04:10 AM

mine are 60 mm's in the picture. I got mine used though so i'm not sure if they still make them. The ones i have are made by the same company that makes greddy's gauges.

curious, how did you get your illumination all white, cluster and hvac controls?
PinnacleChronos 12-18-2004 02:53 AM

It's not white, that's the stock green color for my car. The phone on my camera sucks so the color looks all washed out. Does look like it's white though... that would be pretty neat. :D
