Macco? Yes or No? part 1

silvscorp 03-04-2004 06:25 PM

Macco? Yes or No?
Anyone had expereince with Macco? It seems they have some good price on body work and paintjobs. Anyone ever had Macco worked on your car and how's the result?

thanx
Trip McNealy 03-04-2004 06:28 PM

i've heard they are absolute poop. find a custom shop and/or reputable body shop instead.
03WRXMA 03-04-2004 06:30 PM

Never get Macco.

The saying, "you get what you pay for," is made for Macco.
silvscorp 03-04-2004 06:31 PM

lol, the reason I am asking is I constantly see them on commercial. Just wondering.
azimiut 03-04-2004 06:43 PM

if you have something small and NOT atached to the car, maybe. that is actually wha my autobody buddy said before he learned to paint.
munkis 03-04-2004 07:15 PM

you get what you pay for ;)

BAC5.2 03-04-2004 07:46 PM

But Burt Reynolds says it's OK
sneeky 03-04-2004 08:27 PM

don't do it... one of my friends used their crap paint and he took it back to them four times because it would keep chipping. save your money an get a good paint job...it's worth it.

westin_impreza 03-04-2004 09:37 PM

silvscorp 03-04-2004 09:40 PM

lol so macco is that bad huh..ok thanks for the headsup.
Monsito 03-04-2004 09:58 PM

If you don't care how your car looks then take it to Macco.
cnk 03-04-2004 10:06 PM

Stay away from Maaco. There are some that do a good job, but they are far and few between. They are more of a quick turnaround shop just looking to make a profit. I had work done on my old 99 Honda Accord coupe on the quarterpanel. They didn't line it up correctly and the paint had orange peels and dust. They paint the car and leave it out before the paint has had a chance to harden so any dust that gets blown on the paint sticks to it.

Just remember. . .you get what you pay for. Ambassador paint job for $189. . .there's a reason why it's called Ambassador. . .they are just there for looks. . no real authority. :furious:

cnk 03-04-2004 10:39 PM

hahaha. . now that you mention it. *slaps forhead* Oh well. . .at least the point is getting through. :)

Any celebrity endorser will lie if paid enough (and desperate enough).

What was the last gig that Burt Reynolds had? I'll bet he;s HURTIN for money!
