Moto GP: Rossi or Hayden

Well this weekend is the MotoGP finale. Who do you think will take the checkered flag?
As a recap, Estoril Portugal, Hayden was up in the points for championship. His teammate Pedrosa knocked him and himself out of the race. Allowing Rossi to be ahead in the championship by 8 points.
I say:
1- Hayden
2- Capirossi
3- Pedrosa
4- Rossi

As much I as want Hayden to win... getting 8+ pts back from Rossi is going to be pretty tough.

damn you Pedrosa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't tell you how stunned I was when Pedrosa pulled that stunt. Everyone was stunned.
I want Nicky to win but he will have to leave it all out there. Capirossi looks very strong too.
How about Bayliss FTW!

The best thing Pedrosa can do to save himself is let Hayden get out to the lead and keep Rossi back. Chances of that happening are next to nothing. I like both of them but I have to pull for Hayden knowing that this is his best shot as long as Rossi is still in the game.

I'm cheering like hell for Nicky....but think Rossi will do what it takes to get the championship. Which is fine for me, cause I'm a Yamaha fan.

Hayden is my sentimental pick, but the rational cold-hard-facts pick is Rossi.
I would've been fine with Rossi winning it all (b/c I like Rossi.. awesome talent!) had Pedrosa not done what he did, but since that screw up, I'd -like- to see Hayden win if only b/c that'd be some kind of sweet story for the ages.
Prediction: Hayden wins, Rossi takes 2nd + the title, and the non-call on the 'pass under yellow' winds up being a tarnish on the whole thing b/c those points would make the difference for Hayden.

 I guess the word Mtot does not exist....
I would like someone else to win the championship, and the only person able to do this is Hayden.
But we all know what Rossi is capable of, and Valencia is one of his favorites tracks too.

just a warning for those of you who want to watch the race to see who wins. do not go to ESPN.com, it has the winner in a headline

I'm a fan of both riders but I have always chosen the Honda bikes as my favorite make. Both riders are extremely talented and both are their own worst enemy at this point in the championship. Go Nicky!!!

Hayden FTMFW!! It is so weird to me (yet so inspiring) to see him so successful. It wasn't too long ago that I was at Target right along side him (coincidentally) getting Gatorade and water for the AMA Pikes Peak race weekend and also coincidentally eating Italian two tables down from him and his family the next day.

...I'm so glad for Nickey, and his entire family too. I just hope Honda dose'nt do Nickey like Vale, "...oh OUR BIKE is what gave Hayden (and not his HARD WORK) the championship..." Yea the bike did get him there, after four years of hard work too! Go Hayden, Go!

Wow, Rossi pwn3d himself.
| sebtarta | 10-30-2006 06:41 AM |
amazing the race actually, unfortunate for Rossi, but it shows that a 7 time champion can also make mistakes.
Great race and close of the season. I cannot wait till next year, it is going to be good.

NEVER saw that one coming. No one thought it would be Rossi that cracked but it just shows that he is human. As cocky as that guy is he is a true sportman and gentleman. I have to give so many props to him for being as cool of a guy as he is.
Hats off to Nicky too. He rode great through the season and weathered the storm. Great season, great races, great action. Thank you Moto GP.

Kind of neat that in F1 and MotoGP the seasons came down to a veteran multi-time champ chasing a relative upstart, and in both cases, some out-of-character misfortune happened at/near season's end to the multi-time champs. I think a lot of folks were calling F1 Michael's championship in light of how he was driving near the end of the season... and most of us expected Rossi to pull this one out too.
"That's why they race the race." :)

I guess Italy used up all their mojo for the World Cup. Could you imagine the party if they won the WC, F1 and Moto GP in the same year?
I like him, I like his family. For example, his father [Earl] come personally to my motorhome after Portugal to make congratulations after Nicky crash, so I say, f---, is very much a gentleman. Hes a gentleman when [Dani] Pedrosa touch him always. I think he deserves the championship.
