Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is the advantage of running this piece over the stock (and very light, I might add) plastic cover? I realize that, yes, it says "ARC" on it, it is titanium, and it has those sweet, heat-extracting louvers, but "upgrading" this piece seems terribly pointless.

I have to ask someone who likes this type of thing, since I just don't understand. Since all it does is *enhance* the looks of your car, why do you spend money on it? Especially since it's under the hood? I kinda understand where the people who buy body kits and different tail lights are coming from, because everyone who sees their car sees their cosmetic upgrade. But why do it if people don't see it unless they look under your hood, and even then, they see a titanium piece. I'm not sure this is a safe assumption, but do you have all the other possible upgrades done to your car already, and are now just moving to cosmetic upgrades (when someone opens up your hood, are they going to see every possibly performance bit in addition to this bit o' Ti, or is this "bit o' Ti" going to be the only upgrade, besides the obligatory intake and muffler?)? It's not impressive to open up a hood and see just some cosmetic upgrade and no engine upgrades, at least to someone who knows something about cars (again, IMO).
Having all the performance upgrades already done on your car seems like the only logical reason you're shopping for hidden bling upgrades now (akin to a chrome plated differential, if there is such a thing). And if you have the money to do all the performance upgrades on your car and are now moving onto such frivolous upgrades as this (sorry, frivolous IMO), why don't you just drive a better car? Certainly a Lotus Elise can be had for the price of a WRX plus all the possible upgrades, or if not the Elise, at least an Sti?

okay . i can handle this one . i would love to get an EVO or STi . preferably STi . but my car is paid for and i have no stock parts left to do a trade-in . EVERYDAY i have to consistently tell myself to be content with what i have . but i always want more . i dont have a job and no income what so ever . so making payments would be hard . my next steps that i would like to do is RA gearsets and JDM V8 engine swap . or the whole JDM V8 engine/tranny swap but thats at least 10k which i dont have ( maybe in 3-4 years i could do it ) . so i go for little things here and there like dressup stuff . heres a pic of my car and let me know what else should i get . *NOTE* SPec C roof vent , MINES carbon fiber spoiler lip thing & carbon fiber window spoiler & PROVA clutch and brake cap going on this week *

I look at all the "little things here and there" in those pics and see that you could have pulled a V8 STi swap by now.
Once you factor in the sale of the stock engine and tranny you can swing a full V8 drivetrain swap for around 4-4.5k. It's been demonstrated on here numerous times. You would just have to be patient and instead of tossing a few hundred bucks into your car at a time, wait until you can actually do it right. (and you can always go into severe credit card debt until you sell the stock drivetrain)

everything happened unexpectedly . i dont have a job or income at all . i just get what i can as the money/credit comes by . basically , girlfriends just pay for all the mods and insurance . not trying to brag but if you ask rich from precision .. he'll tell you that a girl paid for my rotora BBK an exedy clutch and flywheel $3100 . but the v8 engine/tranny . i think i might have to ask my mom . $10k is alot . i gotta blow my engine and tranny first so she'll think that i [B]NEED[/B] it .

funny story . we just had floods in north NJ . so i hit this flood real hard which made me lose my fog covers . so i told my mom i lost it in a flood and she told me to get new ones . so i bought the carbon fiber ones .man , trust me i wish i could get that damn V8 engine tranny . i wish i coulda wait and got an sti instead but now i got an excuse for getting a wrx ........ i tell people why would i want a sti when i wanna do a ver8 jdm swap anyway . gotta wait for my mom to be in a good mood . she is always in a bad moood .

I could see over $200 as well.. I have their shroud and even though this isn't as large it looks like more work involved since its more than just a flat sheet with a slight crease. Probably wont be getting one but it is a cool piece
