OEM Matched Dead Pedal
Does anyone make a Dead Pedal that matches the Stock '02 WRX pedals?
I've seen the pink STi ones, but so far nothing on a simple OEM match.

I've looked into this a bit myself. I've pondered ordering a 2000+ Celica GT-S or 2000+ Lexus IS300 dead pedal and adapting it to fit since their pedals are a pretty good match to our cars.
It's about $70 for one, so I'm not sure I'm ready to pay that much just to see if I can make it work. Let me know if you come up with anything.

I would like to have one also. It seems unfinished with the plastic dead pedal.

Hey there, I've interest in the Sparco one. How does it get installed?
| Jakezor | 11-14-2001 05:05 PM |
I'm interested in either the Sparco unit or the cheaper OMP one.
How do they mount? The stock holes (I hope), I don't really feel up to drilling holes in my sube yet.
Thanks for the heads up Jamie.

Yeah, I'm interested in an aluminum one, if OMP or sparco offers one. Also, just saw your car Subiegal in Grassroots Motorsports, I know that issue's been out for awhile, but it's been awhile since I've been to Hastings! :-)

Any possibility of one with rubber inserts like the stock pedals that doesn't look cheap?
the sparco one wouldn't be a bad compromise, perhaps could add rubber bumps to it.

geez guys... i never installed one but i imagine they just
"screw in"
they are not subaru specific... so it's likely you'll probably need to drill... but like i said.. i dont have one yet...

Please let us know what you end up doing Subiegal! I was posting about this earlier and did not get any bites, but I am very interested in getting rid of that cheesy plastic bit. If we wait for STi to come out with something, we're gonna pay $150 bucks for it. :D

Jamie - Is there a rubber backing to the Sparco dead pedal that would fill the holes (like what comes with the sti)?
| grandmasterchan | 11-15-2001 09:48 AM |
Have you ever looked at an audi TT dead pedal. Only thing is it has slats instead of holes. Not bad IMHO.
| Subie Gal | 11-15-2001 09:54 AM |
they come as you see here...
there is no rubber backing...
i am sure you could place a sheet of rubber behing the dead pedal if you wanted to...
i would certainly be willing to order these if there was enough interest...
:)

Subie Gal: if you're doing a GB on the sparcos...count me in.
| TampaWRX | 11-15-2001 12:35 PM |
Grandmaster...either those are tiny input pedals or that dead pedal is HUGE. I think you would have some fit problems in the Subies and it would probably cost a fat chunk of change since it's from an Audi.
| grandmasterchan | 11-15-2001 12:51 PM |
I was just talking about the dead pedal.
Regardless the regular pedals are not very expensive at all. They are tiny yes. The price for these in Canadian is about $55 total for the pedals which is about...ummmm say $10 US.. LOL! But no, seriously they are that cheap.
The regular pedals would be wrong for an Impreza but the dead pedal might just fit. Compared to the $60US price of a Celica dead pedal I think it would be a good alternative.

Have a URL for a possible supplier? Even better, have some size specs? I'd like to see something like that in the Subie with a rubber backing....why didn't Subaru just put a damn aluminum dead pedal in there????
| Subie Gal | 11-15-2001 03:40 PM |
i may do a GB when i return from vacation (11/30)... good idea...

There is a matched OEM pedal
Just not sure if it is available. Check out his link for the S201:

You can get a matching dead pedal made by Levoc from any ricer shop for about $20. They attach with 2 small screws. :)

Hey Fastline,
picture certainly would be necessary. Wonder how do they get installed. I will check the classified as well.
By the way, when you mentioned Al. diamond plate, do you mean they are without holes? If so, then they don't match that well (IMHO) comparing to the Sparco's.

We need the dead pedal from that S201 posted earlier in the thread. Anyone know where you can get these????
| WRX Potential | 11-18-2001 01:35 PM |
ditto tampa, you don't get any closer than that, anyone wanna start a gb?
| Aaron'z 2.5RS | 11-18-2001 10:21 PM |
I can tell you were to get a matching dead pedal for the WRX.....simply change them all together......This is my submission..

The dead pedal had to be modified to fit, All the nice bends on the side thats up aginst the kick panel had to be bent back out....
Oh and none of the origional mounting holes could be used either.
Peas,

Any news on the matching dead pedal from that S201 featured earlier in the thread!? That thing is PERFECT. Surely someone knows where to get it????
| Arnie | 11-19-2001 08:18 PM |
Why don't you mail Sugar directly or TaiChi. They both have pretty decent STi and Subaru OEM connections.
