For those of you who follow F1 part 1

For those of you who follow F1

Who do you think Rubens would punt off the course this week? [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img][img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Just to refresh ur memory, in Australia, it was HHF. In Sepang, it was Ralf.

My vote for the Rubens-punt-of-the-week would be:

DC [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img][img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]
GQ 03-30-2001 04:54 AM

I am not bagging on him, but I don't believe that DC will even keep up with either of the Ferrari's to cause a conflict. The Ferrari's are too fast. I believe it will be a Jordan if anything.
Bonzo 03-30-2001 06:35 AM

b4 HHF went off in australia this was looking to be a really great race. With hhf off this put a big whole in the field and let the leader get a big gap. hrmmmmm.

answer - himself? I kinda like Rubuens but that was pushing it. Its really hard for me to comment cause the incredible pressure form corp, Ferrari, fans and the world to get points and win I cannot begin to comprehend. So I think they are very motivated even if it means pushing it a bit.
Scooby-fun 03-30-2001 07:22 AM

If you read some of Rubens' comments after the Malaysia race, it just might be Michael. Time for Jordan to step up. Go HHF.
TSDScooby 03-30-2001 09:51 AM

he is pushing it like never before, and the fact that his starts are not as good is not helping him. Anyway, I think those were racing accidents. He is no more Mr nice guy anymore. Everybody in this field has taken other people out at some point in their carrer (or do you forget HHF move in Italy last year, which BTW it was just a racing accident as well). Let's not pick on just one driver please. Anyway, if I had to pick the next person RB is going to take out that would be: Michael Schumaher :-)
This season is kicking ***!!

Cheers,

TSDScooby
gtguy 03-30-2001 01:34 PM

I like the fact that Rubens isn't being Mr. Nice Guy anymore. He's running out of Germans to punt, though. [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif[/img]

He has gotten two crappy starts, which is his own fault. Certainly can't fault his grid position.

And I can't believe he would think that Michael would sit behind him while he danced gently around a slower car. The difference between the way the two of them went through the field at Malaysia was a perfect illustration of why Schuey didn't sit behind him.

Ferrari's been having issues with their traction control system, and running a full race distance. Not to mention their suspicious protest of TC, now that they seem to have an advantageous, yet legal system.

Soap opera, politics, money, good racing, gotta love F1.

Don't forget the women. [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img] Was it David Coultard that has had the problem in that department as of late? Pretty sure that it was.

About RB... I think that it is good that he is getting more agressive. I still think that Schumacher needs to remember that they are teamates, and to take EVERY opertunity, no matter how small to pass RB is not nessasary. It would be a bad day when both the red cars are in pieces.

I defintly agree that this is the best begining to a season for a LONG time. Its great to see many of the other teams getting competaive. MINARDI! Surely you gest! Arrows was up there too. Obviously not going to vye for the championship, but certainly can make a good race. [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

I'm torn between the Red cars, and the team on the move. Williams.

You guys got it right! Go Jordan. Nice to have you on the side of the buzzing hornets

Habu 03-30-2001 03:49 PM

Hey Scrappy!
What you mean Buzzin' Hornets??!!?? They have a shark mouth on the car now! It will be interesting to see what they do use. I thought it was funny when they had a snake on the nose and they used SSSShuey, and Fissshi on the wings and Bitten N' Hisses ont he sidepods back in '97. But what now with the sharks? Hmmmmmm
Gotta fly!

SpinAll4 03-30-2001 09:55 PM

Rubee will neatly shove Mika off on the third turn.
I would love to see Rubens win his home race, but the only way he would have a chance is if Michael Schu goes off or breaks. We definately need to see Barrichello one the top tier of the podium at least once this season--remember him crying in Germany last year? - or the freaky little 'robot dance' he did b4 the champagne!
Its gonna be a RED weekend--itsa total Lock.
I got traction control too = my left foot.
schuey555 03-30-2001 10:02 PM

Who cares about Rubens? honestly i dont think he did any of that on purpose. Anyway dont follow Rubens!Schuey is the MAN!
vicster 03-30-2001 10:49 PM

as much as i dislike ferrari and schuey, i'd say he's got it locked up already. sure, mcclaren will probably win 2 or 3 races during the middle of the season, but that'll be it for them. now what i really want to see is one of the underdogs win a "fair" race (not one in the rain where 75% of the cars run off the track).

my prediction for brazil: schuey, rubens, dc (with my boy mika spinning out on lap 16)
Adrian128 03-30-2001 10:56 PM

Here is my bold prediction for the round in Brazil. If Reubens is close enough to Micheal, Micheal will move over to let him win his home race, and he will settle for second. One of the Mclarens will be 3rd, with Ralf 4th, HHF 5th and Montoya 6th, just edging out Villeneuve for the last championship point. [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif[/img] [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif[/img]
SpinAll4 03-31-2001 07:22 AM

I too had that thought Adrian, but i think that if Shu did that- Barrich' wouldnt like being gifted the win. Rubens (like the rest of the drivers) wants to beat Mike in a fair fight. Problem is, he's just to good. I want to see Ralf on the podium, above his brother!
Adrian128 03-31-2001 11:00 AM

Yes.. I agree that Reubens wants to beat Micheal in a fair fight, but if both Ferraris are running, in the same lap, in winning positions, there is no way Mike will come behind Reubens. It was the same deal with Eddie Irvine before.. Mike is the # 1 driver, so unless he moves over or he has no chance of winning (or getting max points) or gets a DNF, Reubens will not win a GP. It's unfortunate, but Mike is the clear # 1 driver for Ferrari, and Reubens must help him win first, before he can even think of winning the race for himself.
cj917 04-02-2001 12:20 AM

Who do you think Rubens would punt off the course this week?

well i guess it turned out to be himself (and somewhat Schumacher Jr)
GQ 04-02-2001 07:09 AM

Wow, was I wrong. DC is still a champion. Cudos to DC.
J Colman 04-02-2001 07:32 AM

I dont think DC has the goods to take the world championship fight to Schumacher.
gtguy 04-02-2001 07:32 AM

Looks like Rubens is just recycling through the Germans. Look out, HHF!

SCRAPPYDO 04-02-2001 07:46 AM

Hey skipilot

Buzzin Hornets..

this is what Jordan puts on their cars instead of benson & Hedges for the tobacco banned advertising races. Jordan uses the wasp image on their cars. Thus the yellow and black. It may look like a shark but is a hornets mouth. Look at the EJ10's car they ran last year. Definitely a hornet.
GQ 04-02-2001 07:56 AM

Actually I think it is a shark this year. I believe that they changed. A few years ago, a snake used to appear on the car. Does anybody know for sure?
Scooby-fun 04-02-2001 08:26 AM

It looks like a shark to me. I don't know why a shark though. The buzzin hornets logo is for countries where tobacco advertising is banned.

SCRAPPYDO 04-02-2001 11:41 AM

you guys are quite right

GQ,

thanks for straightening me out. I was now aware that they switched. Thanks very much for keeping me in line.

SCRAPPYDO

by the way, isnt the EJ11 the best looking car in the field! Even the lower center spoiler looks like mouth so to speak!

skipilot, sorry for misleading you. it seems I was a tad behind on my Jordan trivia..time to go scan the websight!

Habu 04-02-2001 05:19 PM

Hee hee, I knew someone would come around and post a pic of the new Jordan sooner or later. S'ok Scrappy, when McLaren went to their new livery back in '97, I was like where are the McLarens? I only see yellow Jordans! I thought that McLaren was using the test car livery. But I only see one pair of yelloe cars and some silver and black.....whoa! [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img] Apparently I missed the bulletin about the new silver/black livery, hee hee. I like the EJ11, but that nose has gotta go! Looks like a Cessna on it's belly! Those big angular wing struts, just don't quite fit. The Ferrari F2001 could use some work on its hooknose too! [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/tongue.gif[/img]
But I still haven't heard the opinions. Like I said, in '97 they used a snake's nose, so they had "Bitten And Hisses". When they went to the hornet, it was "Buzzin Hornets", but now with a shark nose? "Biting Halliards"? [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/eek.gif[/img] Ah, it'll fun to see what they really use....

Go Juan!!!!!!!

He is the man....

I have liked him for a few years now. Love his driving style and his attitude.

He will win one before the year is over.
Can't believe Verstappen didn't get a bigger fine. Looked like he just took him out.

I can't believe that Barichello didn't get a fine..... That's 3 races in a row that he's run into someone... and from the looks of it, not always on accident! [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

Right now, RB is higher on my list of drivers that I dislike than MS (and I can't stand him.... He just bugs the crap out of me....)
cj917 04-02-2001 10:39 PM

well, Rubens' punt-a-German streak is alive at 3... should we start a bet of who's gonna be next? [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]
Scooby-fun 04-03-2001 06:59 AM

Well, now that this is turned into a Jordan thread. Woohoo! By the way HHF and Eddie turned me into a Jordan fan.

MS better look out... I think that would be too funny! [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img] I've always wanted to see one team mate punt the other off the track.
ralt12 04-04-2001 04:10 PM

See the replay of Suzuka 1989--Prost and Senna in the McLaren-Honda's with the world championship at stake. They're still debating who took who out....
cj917 04-04-2001 07:01 PM

I've always wanted to see one team mate punt the other off the track

it happened last year... with Alesi and Heidfeld... at least once... granted it wasn't neither's fault... just both being the wrong place at the wrong time

so who's it gonna be at Imola? [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif[/img] Ralf already got hit twice, so statistically he has much slimmer chance... while Schuey Sr and Heidfeld hadn't been hit yet... hmmm... [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]
Lafora 04-04-2001 08:05 PM

Ever noticed the williams have somesort of a bullseyes on the back of their car? [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img][img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

my guess is JPM. [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]
