I don't think I've ever actually seen that in a Suby...nor would I ever want to.

then you're obviously a n00b.
even the 1999 Legacy GT came factory with woodgrain trim.
wood grain is nothing new to subaru
some people actually like it believe it or not.....
not everybody is in to 18" rims and plasma glo'

you're mistaken  if this site was solely about poo-pooing what subaru owners didn't like, i'd leave.
doesn't mean it's not okay to do in the forums that are primarily about that- i.e. this one... but internet forums are for information, not for opinion.

saw those pics on another thread. Definately made me raise a brow but then thought how different and unique it looked. Not for me but I could see people wanting it.

Not a fan of wood trim but I'm sure it would
look nice with a wooden Momo shift knob.

I couldn't see it in an Impreza, but woodgrain fits quite nicely nestled into the dash of a Legacy, or at least it does in my parents' '03 Legacy L.

if it was a superdark wood it wouldn't be so bad, but that's terrible.
| UltimateLurker | 03-23-2006 12:27 PM |
There are a plethora of super-cars that have woodgrain trim, I never considered it "Subie Style", but what do I know? Hell, I like 18" wheels...

Hey now the sparkles were cool - hehe, the ones on the side are gone now - too much of an attention draw.
Im reminiscing about the old days when there was more of a balance between the different mindsets of subaru owners or at the very least a respect for modding your car as a reflection of yourself. I dont like when people criticize other's uniqueness and creativity when they themselves are running around with a stock car, rotas, and have never posted a pic of their car for people to judge. Different is good and its the reason alot of people mod.
I agree with Handsdown that what I "dont like" exists mostly in the gallery and interior, but the catch-22 is that those tend to be the most active forums and Im bored :)
On topic though, the wood trim would be hot in a LS400 or a some sort of VIP type car, but I associate subaru with sporty although I could see it working in a legacy.

Its better than the fake ass carbon fiber than came in older RSs atleast. I ripped that stuff of real quick.
| theicewall | 03-25-2006 01:49 PM |
I would much rather prefer a nice dark colored brushed aluminum or a carbon fiber (real carbon not carbon look) to the woodgrain. My pathfinder has woodgrain and it looks nice in the SUV, and my pap's last mercedes had woodgrain on the dash, but I just don't see it fitting the car. We drive econoboxes with exceptional drivetrains and I think it looks a tad silly but to each his own. I'd never criticise someone for doing woodgrain on their dash but I wouldn't do it.
| ControlFreak | 03-25-2006 02:47 PM |
You guys are all crazy, that wood grain looks like complete hell. Anyone who puts this in a wrx is out of there freaking mind... The wrx/sti is a sports car, theres no wood trim in the sports car, that should be a rule.
I'm perfectly fine with the legacy's having it, the legacy is subaru's luxury model.. but the wrx/sti.. c'mon

Im sure most of the people on here think that most of the body kits made for subarus look like ass but some people still put them on. Id rather have wood grain than an invader style kit. lol
