Peru NT part 1

jcroy66 06-27-2005 11:31 AM

Peru NT
Roll call.

Phil's in STX. I'm bringing home tire money in STXL.

FYI, if anyone is not yet registered, the entry cap has been met. However, I suspect there are likely at least two soon-to-be-withdrawals from Peru. And there are always other folks withdrawing at the last minute for random unforeseen circumstances. So you may have a shot if you call Topeka and ask to be put on the waiting list.
dwx 06-27-2005 01:24 PM

This Phil will be driving in STX in Chris Fenter's car. And obviously Chris will be there as well.
Imprezivblue 06-27-2005 01:36 PM

I will be there in STSL. What car is yet to be determined ;)
Scott Farmer 06-27-2005 02:03 PM

Whose car are we codriving now, Tara?
10th Warrior 06-27-2005 02:57 PM

James and I should be there in ESP.
CamaroFS34 06-27-2005 03:06 PM

I'll be there in.... um.... well.... maybe I should make this a poll?

FS in my green car? in Mark Valera's car?
SM2 in Jerry Onks's car?
DS in Matt Grainger's car?
ESP in Lonnie Bright's car?

Right now I'm leaning towards driving my green car. That SM2 offer is mighty tempting though.... ;)

Karen
thechickencow 06-27-2005 03:07 PM

I won't be there but Joe Cooley will be driving my car. Say hi to it for me, I'm at another wedding this weekend.

Good luck to the Milwaukee crew.

Jay
PhilC 06-27-2005 03:12 PM

Dang Jay, I think that's at least the second wedding this year that conflicts with a big event. You've GOT to get the family and friends to plan around your racing schedule better.

I'd go for the SM2 ride Karen. I think it would be a lot of fun to see what it's like to have that much rubber on the pavement.
10th Warrior 06-27-2005 03:17 PM
SM2 in Jerry Onks's car?
yes.

Except, I'm running FS at Nationals, and I kind of want to try out this new front sway bar I picked up from Sammy at Oscoda. The more seat time in an LT1 FS car, the better off I'll be in my never-ending Nationals trophy quest, I think.

I think it's just because he doesn't want to drive the WRX on 10/12K springs to Indiana and the wedding is just an excuse not to do it.

I'll be there as #3 since 32 was taken. I staying with Garnjobst at a hotel he says is strategically located within crawling distance of a place called huggers.

Heh we are trailering Chris' car down. If I can find time to finish fixing the trailer that is.

That would probably be the Comfort Inn, IIRC. ;)

I might be in a certain black 89 civic si hatch or i'll drive my own if I don't have the balls to codrive the honda.

So when do I get to co-drive your STi?? ;)
jcroy66 06-27-2005 04:04 PM
I'll be there as #3 since 32 was taken. I staying with Garnjobst at a hotel he says is strategically located within crawling distance of a place called huggers.
Ugh, awful place. Huggers, that is, not the hotel. :)

(I'm just bitter because the stupid place charged me cover but didn't bother to tell me they have a "no women" rule. They'll let me in to watch, but that's it. No dances, no going up to the stage, no talking to the girls, zip, nada. I don't think I was even permitted to watch if Phil got a dance! If that's the kind of uptight guy the owner is, it's no wonder his ex-wife ran off with another woman. )
10th Warrior 06-27-2005 04:49 PM

the hugger is anything but uptight ;) best strip club evAr.

I have been asking him the same question Tara. I am assuming not anytime soon. ;)
thechickencow 06-27-2005 07:38 PM

The drive will definitely be fun for Joe on a blown rear left strut. Enjoy.

Anybody know turnaround time on Tein rebuilds and teh best place to get them done? Do we have to go directly to Japan?
jcroy66 06-27-2005 08:42 PM

Ah Jay, that sucks. :( So it's not just bouncing now, it's totally blown?

As for Hugger, I imagine it would be an enjoyable strip club for guys. Something about "the best deal you can possibly get for a dollar". ;) But I wasn't particularly impressed by the quality of talent and was extremely unimpressed by the "you're a woman, we aren't allowed to dance for you" BS.
thechickencow 06-27-2005 08:51 PM

Joe's not gonna be driving it, its really bad now. Now to find all the pieces of my stock suspension. Should've kept the AGX'es with the spt springs now so at least I'd not have to ride around on stock suspension.

Jay
cooleyjb 06-27-2005 10:08 PM

Yep the tour is out for me now. Hope Huggers' is as fun as people hope it can be. Now I guess I should put together the shifter kart while we wait 10 years on teh TEIN rebuild. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
whitet777 06-27-2005 11:10 PM

I'll be there in an STU Evo.

Tim
SloRice 06-28-2005 08:57 AM

I'll be there in my SM STI.

Hopefully, I got my big event jitters out of the way at my first big event in Toledo and I can actually drive the car....b/c that's what I didn't do there.
cooleyjb 06-28-2005 08:22 PM

Just a head's up there are at least 3 spots open for the Peru tour since I cancelled my entry fee. So hurry up if you want to make it.

Current word from TEIN is that they can do the rebuild well before Topeka.

angryfist 06-28-2005 08:48 PM

im out also. if anyone wants a spot hurry up before they fill.
TheWRX 06-29-2005 01:58 AM
Anybody know turnaround time on Tein rebuilds and teh best place to get them done? Do we have to go directly to Japan?
Which Teins do you have? The models with inverted monotubes (RA) have to be sent to Japan for rebuilds. Which either takes very long (several months to send them by boat), or is very expenisve (air freight). Their "lower end" shocks (HA, Flex, etc.) can be rebuilt at the service center in California. I would talk to a dealer. Chris Shenefield (Redshift Motorsports) is an official dealer, he can help you out.
jcroy66 06-29-2005 06:19 AM

Jason, what happened to you? Why are you out?

hehehe.. what do you think they would say if i was bbqing and drinking on course starting at noon... i mean if thats cool with the safety steward ;) maybe i will come...

i'll make sure to bring some of my fav local stout for you at the pro.
hehehe.. what do you think they would say if i was bbqing and drinking on course starting at noon... i mean if thats cool with the safety steward ;) maybe i will come...
Uhhhhhh, something tells me the chief of safety might have a problem with that. ;) But I'm guessing she could probably be convinced to let you BBQ and drink on course AFTER runs are over. As long as you share. :)

Huh. Actually, that's a good question. The CenDiv we went to earlier this year didn't have any beer. I'm trying to remember last year's Peru Pro, and all I remember clearly was giant Subway sandwiches. I think they had beer too, but can't remember for sure. So does anyone know for sure if Grissom is ok with drinking on site?
i'll make sure to bring some of my fav local stout for you at the pro.
Score!!

This one time I went to a polish autocross I get there at about 7:30, no one speaks english and these guys are pounding Heinikiens at registration, I was like holy crap its 7:30, well I guess if I had to sit around all day it would get boring...so we start doing out runs...WTH these guys are driving, rental cars, e-brake drifting...OMFG! To each their own I guess. They were some of the nicest autocrossers I have ever met, incredible genorous and love to have fun.

Looks like Dale and Mary Bahr just signed up last minute for Peru under STU and STUL. That's a welcome addition, even if they do drive Subarus!
