Tint on a Sedona Red Pearl WRX help!

I'm getting my windows tinted next week and was wondering what people with the Sedona Red Pearl Impreza got and what other people think looks good, the tint changes (well atleast it appears to because of surrounding colors and interior) with a car color change so I was wondering what percent you all got on your SRP Impreza.
The guy at the tint shop rec. 40% (it's 35% legal in Missouri for front and he said the 40 will turn out to be 35 when he puts it on somehow...)for the front and rear side windows and then i'd get 15% on the rear window with the 5% limo strip in the front
So vote on what you think I should get, obviously everyone's input is wanted but I was particularly wanting to see tint on a SRP Impreza, I've searched and there are wayyyyyyyyyyy too many tint threads to search for the rare SRP lol, sorry, but I also want a vote opinion ;)
Thanks in advance everyone NASIOC hasn't let me down so far!

middle option is the best

werd middle
| Dizzy89 | 07-20-2006 05:01 PM |
I voted for the middle too. My SRP is tinted dark on the three back windows, and medium for the passenger and driver. I'll post pictures up when I get home as I don't have car pictures on my computer at work.

| clbd39 | 07-21-2006 01:08 AM |
yea i was wondering if the front strip would look dumb, but when i go to school(200 mile trip) i am heading right towards the sun and it's right there and annoys me lol

any other opinions? my appt is for AUG 1 so hopefully i can get a good idea of what would look best lol

20% all around?
| WizardGandoff | 07-24-2006 07:54 PM |
20 all around would look the best. or 35 on the front and lil darker in the rears would look good
or 35 all around even the windshield would look clean, no tint strip at the top
the front strip looks wierd when its really dark and the rest or the windows are light

i can't do 20 all around, i'd like to but i can't, too many people around here get pulled over for that lol, yea it sucks lol, but my main concern is would the car look funny if the front is lighter than the rear doors?
i guess i won't go with the front strip, that seems to be something everyone agrees on
so i guess the question now is....
all 40% or
40% in the front and 15% on rear door windows

I live in Missouri as well, St. Louis to be exact. Most people run 20% all around because cops don't seem to care about it. I myself have 5% all around and only have gotten pulled over once. You just have to be smart about it and roll your windows down when you spot a cop. I would recommend doing 20% all around because it looks clean. Otherwise 35% on all windows would look good too.

I have some tint on mine and love it. It really helps to keep the heat down in FL in the summer!
If it helps, here's a pic

hmmmm i've got 20% on my car 50% is legal and i dont really get hastled for it just dont be driving around revin your car up trying to race people and you'll be fine, if you cant do 20 at least go 35%
| clbd39 | 07-26-2006 02:13 PM |
That is very nice looking! :)
| clbd39 | 07-26-2006 02:14 PM |
well the 40 is supposebly 35 on the car... so i dunno why they don't just call it 35 but that's what the tint guy said, and he's the best in town so i guess he knows what he's talking about... maybe there is a factory with 95 or something lol hmmm
FAST4 what lip is that? where did you get the skirts from? are they STi skirts and you had them painted or did you get them that way?
also where did you get the sidemarker
and where is the FAQ for the tail light smoking?
that is one of the best lookin SRP i've seen! :)

right on, all i'm trying to get across is most people that get theirs done too light always wish the would have gone a little darker, if anything once it drys and over the years it gonna get just a tad lighter ;) i'm sure whatever you get it'll look great
| clbd39 | 07-27-2006 12:35 AM |
well if i don't like it he said he will redo it for 40 bucks or whatever on 2 windows
| clbd39 | 07-27-2006 08:16 PM |

i like a lighter rear window... easier to see who/what's behind me (esp at night)... but in terms of best looking, the middle one's the best...
| traildevil_rs25 | 08-01-2006 04:31 AM |
I'd say go with 35% all the way around but without the tint strip in the front window. And if you decide later you want a tint strip, go get one. :)
| clbd39 | 08-01-2006 12:26 PM |
lol yea i think i can call this a "trial" and if i don't like it i'll just get the windows redone lol

Windows aren't perfectly transparent - they absorb some light. So while the tint film absorbs 40% (or whatever it's rated for), your glass will absorb some more and lower the overall amount of light passing through.

alright i got it done, ended up going with the "more extreme" tint so if i don't like that i'll fall back on the conservative tint
which means, i went with the 40 front windows and 15 with the rear passenger windows and the rear window i really like how it looks, and i'll post some pics tomorrow, it really helps at night with that rear window being dark, i have a bad astigmatism (sp) and that cuts the glare down SOOOOO much! :) so yay! i'll post pics tomorrow
