Type R badge part 1

Lachlan 11-27-2005 03:07 PM

Type R badge
Anybody know where I can requisition the type R badge that goes under the rear cluster? (Note, I do not actually own a type R, so feel free to flame me)
Usaf*STi 11-27-2005 03:23 PM

just what ever you do, DO NOT put this on a subaru. if you do then you will be flamed.
Lachlan 11-27-2005 03:29 PM

Oh, it's going on if I ever find it. Feel free to flame me noob.
Lexington 11-27-2005 03:34 PM

IBtroll

this is WAYY too st00pid3 to be real
Lachlan 11-27-2005 03:36 PM

Yes, I've been trolling here since May of 2002. Now, if anyone knows where to find it, I'd like to know.
STi-MAN 11-27-2005 03:40 PM

are you talking about the subaru type R sticker correct?
Lachlan 11-27-2005 03:41 PM

Right, the little white one.
BrysImpreza 11-27-2005 03:44 PM

This is the one he's referring to, 1997 Impreza WRX Type-R ... Yes, they did exist n00bs.

Do a Google search for Impreza Type-R, they had one or two sites that had them, but they were Japanese. You can always have Rallydecals.com make one for you.
Lachlan 11-27-2005 03:45 PM

Yes, I'm looking for that little white one underneath the right side cluster. Thanks for the pic, that makes it more clear.
BrysImpreza 11-27-2005 03:47 PM

Any time, thats what happens when you've been "Trolling" since 2000 :D
kpxplaya415 11-27-2005 10:49 PM

that's too funny that posts 2 and 4 thought they were flaming a ricer that was going to put a honda type-r badge on their subaru.

:)
Handsdown 11-27-2005 11:01 PM

 anyone who has played GT2 knows that there is an STI type R.

typeR means coupe in subie lingo. and yeah, posts 2 and 4 just owned themselves.
Lachlan 11-27-2005 11:09 PM

While I don't have a type R, I've shoved an STi version 3 drive train into a coupe body; so short of a DCCD, I feel it's close enough to an R. I'm sure I'll still get flamed (see below) since it's not a "real" type R, but I'll manage.
Lexington 11-28-2005 03:23 AM

.. trolls dont have to have just signed up.. I see plenty of idiot posts from "long-time-members"

.. do what you want, but It seems like the same thing as putting a GTR badge on a RB2dett swapped 240sx
hikeeba 11-28-2005 09:39 AM

I don't see it as the same. I think the Type R badge will work. It's a unique idea, and gives the car a personal touch while remaining within the 'brand.' Cool! Rock the GT series! If it wasn't for the GT series, i wouldn't have a Subaru now.

Crashman287 11-28-2005 01:39 PM

d00d! just get a red type R badge. Easy ten horsepower right there!
Lachlan 11-28-2005 01:42 PM

I know many of you noobs don't know squat about the type R, but you should really research your Subaru history.
kpxplaya415 11-28-2005 04:41 PM

since when did the 240sx have a rb2xdett motor?

at least in this case the parts match the car, whether or not its jdm or usdm.
ScoobyDoobieBlue 11-28-2005 04:48 PM

Its a swap bud, people do it all the time.
Handsdown 11-28-2005 04:49 PM

seriously.

the sti version 6 type R was an impreza. same chassis, different drivetrain and suspension.

it's like putting a silvia badge on a CA18DET swapped S14. nothing too wrong with that. not like putting an RB in an S13:rolleyes:
Crashman287 11-29-2005 12:26 AM

"I know many of you noobs don't know squat about the type R, but you should really research your Subaru history."

Sorry man, just a joke. :D
kpxplaya415 11-29-2005 10:27 AM
Its a swap bud, people do it all the time.
this is more on the line of putting an IMPREZA into an IMPREZA, not putting a SKYLINE into a SILVIA.

but it's just how we look at it differently i guess.

all of the flamers in this thread need to read this.

and the "R" means rally.

not sure how authentic they are, but i found some on ebay.

That's interesting what they say about the ABS and the DCCD. Obviously they've fixed the conflict by now.
EarlQHan 11-29-2005 03:46 PM

Lol, you're all wrong. Lachlan is doing something more along the lines of getting a B18C in a EK and calling it a Type-R. I guess it's also like putting a Silvia badge on a 240sx with a SR. It's only a Silvia in Japan and maybe Australia(?), even the Silvias in Europe were called the 200sx (not to be confused with the USDM 200sx which is a Sentra coupe). So at best, a SR swapped 240sx is just a 200sx, which I think is better than a KA-T getting a Silvia badge.
slowscooby 11-29-2005 04:16 PM

Wow, leave the guy alone, he wants to put something from our rally heritage on his car which is much better than a lot of what i have seen on here. It's not like any of these stupid swaps, stop comparing.

Do what you want Lachlan, I think what you have done justifies your idea.
Lexington 11-29-2005 04:27 PM

Plenty of ppl have swapped RB's into 240sx's

.. I've even seen VQ's done
Lexington 11-29-2005 04:31 PM

I apologize for not displaying my analogy to your specifications

My point was... motor swap =! the real deal

If you have a type-R shipped over, then by all means, paint a big freaking R on the hood.. just dont badge it something its not.

Either way.. its ur car, have fun modding it YOUR way.. I just wont do mine the same. Thats what customization is all about ;)
UltimateLurker 11-29-2005 04:42 PM

I've seen these stickers for sale before, but I'm certain they had Subaru packaging, $50 from what I can remember, but there were 2 in the package?

UL<---no expert.
amukaoen 11-29-2005 04:44 PM

I think that would be friggin sexy..

White Type R badges... so badass.. im sure a lot of Honda and ITR (Integra TypeR) owners would look at your car and be like ***? cause they dont know about the STi Type R. Every car seems to have a Type R version somewhere.. hell there is even a Mustang Cobra Type R.

but even if he DID want to put ITR badges on his car.. so what, who friggin cares man? If he doesnt, then why should you..? Its not your car is it??? people need to seriously stop hating on others for no reason.
Lachlan 11-29-2005 04:48 PM

It's ok, I fully expected the flames. But obviously I feel justified in doing it or else I wouldn't do it. I saw the ones on ebay; they're cheap so maybe I'll get a set and see for myself. Even if they're a little off, there won't be too many around to compare them with.
Kaymin 11-29-2005 04:53 PM

If someone sends me a like photoshop of just the writing i can make vinyls on my friends vinyl machine, maybe start sellin em! ahah  Someone do it! I'll make it exactly the same size as the one in that first pic. All nice and small! I want one really bad myself so if anybody can get just the writing for me real big that would be sweet
