spike 12-13-2001 04:39 PM

wagon body kit finally done!

finally got the waist spoiler installed after having it sitting around for almost two months. what do you guys think?
loafing1 12-13-2001 05:20 PM

I like it. :D
Actually, I'd like to get one, they're just kinda costly. But the pic of your wagon w/it... couldn't give me a better idea of how it would look, considering I have a silver wagon w/P1s too!

that's really dope... not huge and "TIMMY"... but really smooth and subtle... I like it alot... but you know a carbon fiber WRC hood would look really sweet on your silver rex... click me to find out where and how to get one...

do you want one?
TampaWRX 12-13-2001 07:12 PM

Looks good Spike. ALMOST makes me wish I had a wagon, but without any family/kids to haul around, just can't justify the extra weight or space. :D Looks very nice though.
DigitalRonin 12-13-2001 07:19 PM

Wow,

Surprisingly it looks almost as streamlined as a pre-us-WRX wagon now =)

Of course, the waist spoiler looks better (IMO) on the rounder body type of the older style wagons (like mine). Of course I'm biased as all hell as well!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think a carbon fiber hood would break up the appearance of the car. Thanks for the suggestion, but in my opinion the car looks sleeker as it is, all silver.

Do you have more pics

Do you have any pics of the front and back ???
An were did you get the kit from.
It's butiful.....:p
spike 12-13-2001 09:34 PM

i got the kit from dan at vivid racing. the waist spoiler comes painted in each of the colors, but the underspoilers only come in silver. the uk silver is a little different from the us silver, but it is only noticeable when you look closely.
spike 12-13-2001 10:30 PM

picture of the front.
spike 12-13-2001 10:31 PM

picture from the back.
Dre2932 12-14-2001 02:14 AM

That looks good..
BugEyed 12-14-2001 03:54 AM

Sweet

Spike

I really like the Wagon with that kit. A local chap has the same on his Wagon and it looks superb in the flesh as well.

Duncan :)

PS Sorry to say it, but change the orange reflectors and the covers in the headlamps and it will look a whole load better. :D
monkeytronZ 12-14-2001 04:19 AM

damn thats freaking nice!! i gotta admit, in the factory body kit area the wagon came out on top. i WISH the sedan's front and back pieces looked like that....
I drive a WRX wagon 12-14-2001 05:21 AM

Where'd you get the waist spoiler and how much was it?
spike 12-14-2001 07:24 AM

i got the waist spoiler from dan at vivid racing. i don't remember how much it was as i ordered it all together.
rico 12-14-2001 07:21 PM

    It looks Sweet are the parts made from Subaru oem?
wannawagon 12-15-2001 12:00 AM

ah!!! finally, someone with a wagon all nice! that's what i've been waiting for... i'd like to see that in Sedona Red, or whatever that color red is.... photoshop anyone????
spd wgn 12-15-2001 09:17 AM

spike

sweet.... how hard to install?

how many holes did you drill?

how much time to do just the rear spoiler?
spike 12-15-2001 02:17 PM

thanks! the waist spoiler required 8 holes to be drilled. i believe it took about 1.5 hours. i actually didn't do it as i wasn't too keen on drilling holes in the metal on the rear hatch. i had a body shop do it, and the guy was very impressed with how easy it was. it doesn't seem too hard, there is just a large penalty to pay if you mess up, which is why i didn't want to do it.

sumodangelo 12-16-2001 05:27 PM

Sorry I don't have much time to do it,
so it looks a little bit wierd, anyway,
just give you a idea :)
SubaFastR 12-16-2001 05:29 PM

Very clean.
omio 12-17-2001 08:57 AM

Great Job!!!!

I really like the looks of the Wagon over the Sedan or Coupe. Great Job!!!!
wrx182 12-17-2001 10:15 AM

is that waist spoiler from subaru? if so, what's the part #? if not, who makes it?, where can i order?, and how much $?

nice looking wagon though...i think an STi hood scoop would finish her off - vividracing.com for $150 last I heard (really good price)...and the STi carbon fiber parking pieces would look awesome - whatever you do, don't get clear ones.

Thanks,
Jim
rxrs9199 12-17-2001 03:23 PM

me to

i would love to know price and part # of the pices of your kit

thanks in advance

(i just might have to get me a wagon );)
wrx182 12-18-2001 08:56 AM

hello?
ScoobieSnaX 12-18-2001 01:01 PM

Do you have any pix of the front (not from an angle). My wagon looks similar (but without the front/rear under trim). I love my waist spoiler too!

I'd like to order a body kit but I saw one picture of a black wagon with the Subaru front lip spoiler and it looked like the sides were sticking out WAY to far!!!

If you look at the car from head-on, do the sides of the front lip spoiler stick out???
Martin Ritchie 12-18-2001 04:01 PM

Spike, very clean and sleek. What about crystal clear side markers (I don't sell them but got them on ebay for my silver wagon).
wrx182 12-18-2001 04:36 PM

spike: where are you? please answer the questions from my previous post here.

Jim -

From the looks of it, his car is equipped with the Subaru OEM body kit. All of the parts, part numbers and pricing for the OEM kit can be found on vividracing's website or by clicking here.

Just sounded like you needed the info pretty quick. Good luck.
spike 12-19-2001 02:15 AM

sorry i haven't responded, i had to take a quick trip to wisonsin for a funeral. as topcover mentioned, the parts can be found at vividracing.com, where i purchased them from. the actual part numbers i found from the new-impreza.com page, under upgrades(i believe). that page had a whole list of the factory parts for the impreza, and yes the body kit is a subaru oem part, just not in the states. i bet that they will start to sell it in the states by next summer. the silver is just a hair off in color likeness to the us version, but not enough to be obvious. yes, i will probably get some clear side markers, or the carbon, but i don't want to go through the hassle of pulling the headlights apart again to remove the orange bulb cover.
ScoobieSnaX- yes the sides do stick out a bit. i was hesitant at first because of the same thing, but i really like the looks of it. the flare out you are talking about is a little weird, but i got used to it. i really like how the body kit makes the car seem lower. i realise that putting on an aftermarket suspension is going to lower it about an inch, and that worries me a bit. i have already hit the front spoiler a couple of times driving too fast through a dip. i will try and take a front end shot tomorrow before work, but i need to wash all the bird @#$! off of the car first.
thanks for the comments everyone. i really like the car, and how it has turned out.

spike 12-19-2001 08:19 PM

SWEETWRX 12-19-2001 08:25 PM
