I'm looking for a 3-piece rear lip with diffuser for my 2003 WRX wagon. I'm not crazy about what is typically seen on the wagons like the Liberal lip, and the EDM/JDM STI rear lips are $$. And I don't really like those enough to spend the money.
I have seen what I'd like it to look like on a sedan, and almost got it on eBay used, but I hesitated because the seller couldn't tell me if it could fit the wagon. I'll post a pick of it later.
Here's what I saw recently on eBay that had sparked my interest:

The wing is ugly IMO but the lip is not bad. And I just happen to have the Aerosync mudguards as well so this will all look nice in sonic yellow.
Any and all help is appreciated as always. Thanks.

as far as rear lips on a wagon from a sedan, I've read some people say you can just bend it in to fit with a heat gun.

Good tip Tim-H, thanks.
Can someone else please confirm this?
If the heat-gun trick indeed will work, then I guess all I need to know is where to find a rear lip with diffuser to fit an 02-03 sedan.

I looked on the official wagon thread in the gallery for hours today, and I didn't see the rear lip I was talking about. I'll keep looking around though. I figured asking would be more efficient, since I already did the search with little luck. Thanks guys. And thanks in advance for anyone else that can help :)

I'm not sure what you mean, but if you're referring to the footnote at the bottom of my wagon pics post from yesterday morning, then you will notice I edited it and redirected everyone here for responses. I was asking a matter-of-factly and no one responded there at all so I moved on to an equally appropriate area where I thought I'd get a response. We're kind of impatient here in NY.
Anyway, I'm still waiting.

Well, that geocities site is down due to excessive bandwidth usage. I guess we broke it. I guess he should've gotten a cardomain site.
I did get to see it though before it went down. Anyone know what lip that is? It's perfect.

(I'm posting a pic but the link may break to the bandwidth limitation. I downloaded it if anyone is interested.)
And that wagon is exactly what I had planned for my wagon, if I had deep pockets. Here is where I am starting:

chris,
pm elsanto on the board here...He is in NJ and fitted a replica 3 piece rear lip to his bugeye wagon. It looks really good. He used the primitive racing replica one (the same as what I have for sale) and he had a local body shop fit it.
Cheers...I'll be back from London in another week.

I checked out the Rallitek version. Perfect.
Peter, I didn't know you were selling the primitive one. I might take that one from you also. Let me know when you're back in town.
OT: I'm in the middle of polishing the DP. I'll send you picks when it's done. I've got 50% of it to a mirror finish.

Ok, I PMed elsanto and he said he picked his lip up from Paul Eklund at get-primitive.com and had UCC in Westchester do the fit for him. I've already been in touch with UCC in the past because I was going to have them do a sedan front-end conversion for me so I had the wider fenders and more font lip option. I'll probably give them all of my body work and have them respray the whole car at once, maybe. I may try to get it as far as I can on my own and have them do the finishing work. We'll see.

i think that is an oem 02-03 sedan lip on a sedan bumper.....all attached to a wagon.

The sedan bumper definately won't fit. The rear quarter panels are flared on the sedan and not the wagon, and the tail lights are shaped differently.

I had the C-west rear lip for a sedan and it wasnt even close to fitting on my wagon. About 2 1/2 inches off. So I got the liberal made for the wagon.

AFAIK that's the the rear part of the OEM UK kit for 02-03 Impreza Wagons.
| stentorian | 03-13-2006 12:41 AM |
I have the OEM sedan rear lip kit that will be going on my wagon soon, I like it better than the EMD/JDM OEM wagon lip kit. The sedan kit looks much simpler than the wagon kit, that's why I got it.

Stentorian, feel free to come back and post picks when you're done. I'd like to see how it came out. Maybe I'll start an Impreza wagon-specific body mod thread for everyone to post their pics. The "calling all wagons" thread is cool, but there is too much of a mix of other subies, stockers, and performance only rides, and it would be nice to see a focused thread for us. I'll do that today and post a link to it here when it's up.

I bought the front lip new, from Japanparts.com. I paid about $600 shipped. The rear lip I was lucky enough to get from a fellow member, used. I guess he had a wrecked STI wagon shipped from the UK for the engine. The rear lip was in good shape. It was originally white, but I had it repainted anyways. I paid $300 shipped for the rear. Here's a bad pic of the front. My digi cam sucks.

BTW, I did respond to your thread about those J-clips you were sourcing out. I happened to find the installations instructions for the front lip, but it's all in Japanese. The instructions I have for the rear lip are in English and they use some of the same parts that the front uses. You can find those J-clips at your local Autozone. They recommend using a 6mm clip w/ a 6mm screw. I would recommend stainless. Any questions, just PM me. Good luck!

I wonder if the OEM rear lip will fit the 04 and up wagons. Not many choices out there besides the factory urethane lip and aero mud guards.

Nope, but close :). As far as fitment with the fiberglass replica, fitment is not exact or close to be flushed, decent at most from 20ft away, so I am still trying to figure out how to get the lip to mount correctly.
