X Games Rally Dirt Stages - Pics

Back from Gorman California today from the X Games Rally dirt stages. 8 stages today.
They ran just a little over 40 stage miles today. What a great battle. it's going to be some kick ass competition on Saturday at the Home Depot Center.

Wow! Great pics! What happened to Nathalie's arm? Ramana barely fits in that car!

I've always been partial to wide-angle lenses myself. Last one especially looks cool. I can't wait for Saturday (though I wish I had a longer telephoto lens!).

Mildly OT... but the No Fear sponsorship of these drivers makes me think of Boris Said...who I believe is trying to secure a ride with No Fear sponsorship in NASCAR.
*disclaimer: followed Said's sports car career... still rooting for him, even in NASCAR.

he never stopped he just races in stuff that isnt on TV.
he has won a couple events in the UK and has been running in Dakar the last couple years.

The final stage in the Home Depot Center is supposed to be aired live this Saturday on ESPN/ABC along with footage shot during the stages yesterday. 2PM Pacific Time if my information is correct (5PM Eastern). Check your local listings to make sure!

Local ABC news here just had a segment on the X-Games rally with some footage of Tanner Foust practicing the special stage. Little interview blurb with Travis Pastrana and Pat Richard (except the on-screen caption said "Matt Iorio"). Doh!

The graphics are taped off because those shots are from testing a few days earlier, and not at the actual X Games

PSG ... rent a longer lens for the weekend ... one day price gives you the weekend, from one of the SAMY'S camera locations ... call them first to reserve the lens of your choice.

bingo and it totally makes sense too, it is alot of work to re-graphic a car, so why risk it?

It does make sense if its practice considering how many people are going to watch.
It didn't when it was presented as the actual stages.
Cool stuff anyway.
So are some of the invited competitors just renting cars for the weekend, sponsors paying for them, etc?

Rhys rented his car, not sure about anybody else.
Given the rumors that the VT cars cost around $200K each, I'm sure they're using sponsor money to pay for them.

VT cars do cost nearly 200k, but ken and travis both have incredible bank accounts anyway, so im thinking they own. Ken block even has his own personal rally stage built that he practices on.

Boris Said is a part owner of No Fear.
Taping off the sides of the cars reminds me of our local RallyCrosses when guys bring new cars. That's funny.
