Okay, I was wanting to switch out the stock orange parking lights with some red lights, cause that'd look badass, any steps on how I could do this?

first you have to open up the lights and remove the orange plastic. Then buy a red bulb, probably best if you used one of the silver-coated red bulbs, so the red wouldnt be seen while not on. but whichever you like.
search for headlight mod and youll find out how to remove the orange peices.

if your brake light is in the front, then yes it is illegal. along with any other red in the front of the car. itd be light having white taillights :)

I am not familiar with any federal law concerning this, care to share a source for this info? Although I am aware of state laws, and I would say most all states would not allow red light from the front.

While you may think it would look cool (I'll leave personal opinions aside) it will probably net you a ticket pretty quickly as well as glares of contempt from other Subaru enthusiasts. Most, if not all, states reserve red and blue lights up front for emergency vehicles only. I don't know if there is a Federal DOT regulation regarding this as one of the other posters implied, but it is one of those things that is pretty universal, such as needing to have a driver's license.

Wow, I like if do any exterior work to my car it's considered 'rice'. I honestly don't care what you think, at all, I don't care about other enthusiasts, I care about two things, how fast my car is, and how many girls I can pull with it.

You have to be an idiot to think that you won't get pulled over for using red lights on the front end of your car.

Red in the front of your car = a hazard to other cars on the road...
my friend tells the story when he was in ocean city the same weekend as the ricer car show an integra pulled to a red light and turned on his bright green turn signals... and the civic in the next lane bolted through the red light :lol:

Just change to the bulbs that look clear but light amber like the Sylvania - looks cool and legal - who needs more reasons to be pulled over :eek:

umm if you're 21...shoot even younger than 21..and you go out(meaning for a couple beers) i wouldnt do anything that would add attention to your car.i dont condone(sp) drunk driving, or intoxicated driving but, thats one of those things that sometimes you just end up doing and i would hate to see a fellow member get in trouble for having only a couple beers because of their lights
