22B widebody kit (4door)
I am gauging intrest in this wide body kit. Basically it is made from 3 mm fiberglass and comes unpainted. The kit contains 9 parts and extends the width of the car 6-7cm. Who is making this?
The company is based in Taipei, Taiwan. I found out about this company from my cousin who lives there. He wanted to see if I was intrested. Here is some background info on the company.
Established: 1985
Clients:
(a). Panasonic Taiwan Co., Ltd.
(b). TECO Electric & Machinery Co., Ltd.
(c). Yamaha Motor Taiwan Co., Ltd.
(d). Ta-Tong Co.,
(e). Taiwan TOTO Co., Ltd.
(f). Taipei Rapid Transit Cooperation
1991-2000
Recognized as a "superior OEM plant" in Q.C.M. by Panasonic (Taiwan) Co., Ltd. annually.
1991
Awarded "Golden Prize" on "the improvement of manufacturing process" by Panasonic (Taiwan) Co., Ltd.
1993
Awarded "Golden Prize" on "reducing production cost and upgrading production technology" by Panasonic (Taiwan) Co., Ltd.
1994
Certified by Industrial Technology Research Institute Union Chemical Laboratories UL-94 94V-O.
2000
Awarded the prize on "Total Quality Improvement" by Panasonic (Taiwan) Co., Ltd.
2001
Undergoing the application for ISO-9001, and is expected to receive the certification in year 2002.
Unfortunately. I have do not have a 4 door Impreza. In Taiwan, they get lots of Impreza GT, hence this bodykit is four door. But I know there are people out there interested and I wanted to see if they like this kit. The company will also give a good deal if I can get 17 orders. If intrest is hight then I will have to become a vendor. ( Is that correct???)
I am getting more information daily, as the language barrier is hampering the process. Right now I am working with them to fix the difference in the fule tank flap. Happy to entertain any questions. I will post more information once i get it. Posting pictures on yahoo photo. Note that the rear doors are molded in.

Yeah how much and I guess we have to buy new 22B corner and tail lights on top of that?

Whats included in this kit?
I'm assuming front fenders, rear fenders, front bumper, rear bumper, sideskirts. The wing?

SONofSAM:
Actually if I get 17 orders it is around 1700 shiped to Savannah, GA. And then I will have to ship from GA to each buyer. They have these in stock and it is easier if they ship in one order.
If order seperately, it will be around 2000 individually. Reason I am getting a good deal is because my family knows people there and also hopefully, they will be making more products that can be sold here.
Eternal_Reign:
Wing i will have to check. The front bumper is included, am not sure about the side skirts.
ImprezaTs:
From the pictures, it seems that the kit does not include the lights.
Like I said, things are still up in the air. A problem is getting the gas tank flap to work with US spec Imprezas. Apparently, US model Imprezas gas tank flaps open manually, but in Taiwan, the driver can open the gas flap from inside the car. Not too sure about this, so any feedback is appreciated. Hopefully, all things will work out. Main problem is getting the guy in Taiwan to understand me about the various car parts, due the language barrier.

Corners and tails are the same as stock.

VERY VERY VERY interested. seeing as how i need to replace the entire passanger side of my car anyways
| ImprezaTs | 08-26-2002 07:35 PM |
Well if I remember correctly, the corner and tail lights are a bit wider then the stock ones in order to go with the flare of 22B no?
Also sorry if it sounds mean or whatsoever, I thought Stever is working on the kit for us already? and his is based in the State? just a bit confused here.

The 22B has the same tails and corners. The fender flare out away from them smoothly. Stever is making a kit, I don't think he started the 4 door yet because he hasn't finished the 2 door kit.

ImprezaTs:
The pictures show that the rear panel uses the stock lights. It is molded in to fit better. I do know that technical expertise is needed. The bumper and front panels are direct bolt ons, but the rear panels needed professional work. But I sent an email to the folks, so they should answer me about these questions.
I know that Stever is making a kit also. I do not want to steal his business, I am not trying to start any conflict. I just wanted to offer another choice. If people like mine, then great I hope Stever gets lots of sells. Think his kit is good too. Just helping the car enthusiast. If I am correct, Stever's kit is for two doors, mine is for four doors.

Well either way both kits are NICE :D If I don't need to buy another set of corners and tail lights then thats perfect :)
Teamugi: Totally understand where you coming from and thanks for all the help. Hope the price is real good and installation is not too big a PITA  Suggestion about the gas tank lid... why not just make it connected to the stock one and just leave it manually opened? its a lot easier a mod and its still look good :) just leave shaven and use the finger to push it in so it will pop out.

What about a two door kit? This kit is way different then Stevers anyways its hard to tell but it is. Also what is all included in the kit. And by the way what is up with the spacers? There like 3 ins thick.

If you read his first post, it states that the impreza gt is the popular car in taiwan, hence the 4-door version. If you have been following stevers wide body thread it explains why would need larger spacers for the rear wheels.
As for the gas door, any knowledgeable subaru parts person as well as many of the vendors here would/will be able to get the remote gas door. All OEM part numbers.
As for the price, judging from the pictures alone, that price is reasonable at $1700usd plus shipping, as stevers kit complete will be about $3500usd. -scu

Yeah but Stevers kit uses like a 15mm wheel spacer these are like 3 ins
| stever | 08-27-2002 02:13 AM |
Hey, it's all good.
Yeah, my fenders and these are similar, but way different. The fronts on these look a little sharper (from the front view), and the rears seem to taper in a bit more in the back. I think the rear bumper is a little narrower. Same with the front bumper ... I think mine is wider, so the fenders don't taper in at the bottom. Doesn't look like there's much room in the rear for wheel travel and wide tires. It doesn't look like they trim much off the stock fender, and that might cause rubbing. I'd check on the wheel travel with wide wheels to make sure they don't rub. Those spacers are downright scary too. What's up with that? The one's I've spec-ed are 15mm.
These are just my observations. Just trying to be helpful for all involved, not trying to scare off any prospective buyers. My 4 door kit isn't going to be done for a little while. 2 door to 4 door isn't that big of a deal, but it has to be right before I sell it.
Anyway, Teamugi ... all the best. My Dad lives in Taiwan too but he's not into cars at all. Sucks for me. :D

Yep, I see the spacers as a big problem for me also. I personally like the WRC look that stevers kit provides. Nothing against Teamugi's kit, but there is not a whole lot that we acually know about the kit other than the pictures. But with that said, anyone that can provide something for the subaru community gets a huge thumbs up from me.:) -Scu

Thanks for the inputs fellows.
Yes, I know that the spacers are really big. I did question the company about them myself, but I do not think they understood. The one guy who can understand both English/Chinese is never there, so I am having some confusions with them.
Going to try to call them later on to get more info.

This kit, from looking at the pictures, appears to be just padding on top of the existing panels, right? The fender flares wouldn't actually provide additional wheel clearance, perchance?

Yes I plan on buying one, but probally won't be till about spring time since I need to get more power before I do this.
Oh one thing i wanted to ask you is can I just get the front fenders, rear fender pieces, side skirts and spacers?

Update:
Sorry for not replying to this in a LONG time. Been buys with life and this has been pushed to the side. Been talking to ImprezedRS. I am not going to order bulk until I see how this kit fits on the US Imprezas. Hopefully, ImprezedRS will be lucky enough to get the first kit and test everything for me. Once, that is done and any issues have been dealt with, then I will order the rest. If I get at least 17 people, then the price should be under 1500 plus shipping.

hey everyone,
Amazing that this post is still alive. I have talked to the people in Taiwan, and I am just slowed down by the paper works. I don't know the exact regulations for exporting goods from Taiwan, so I have contacted someone there who could help me. So far, no reply. I might have to seek other sources if this contact doesn't reply soon. Until then I can only wait. Will let everyone know if something major comes up

wow, the interest in this kit surprises me. I was generally, interested in getting this kit to the states, but life and work and so has prevented me from completing my project.
I haven't heard from this company in a long time and I am not sure if they still have any kits in stock. Unfortunately, work takes a majority of time now. so this has been pushed aside.
If anyone really wants this kit themselves, I will be more than happy to give the contact info, best if you can speak Chinese/Taiwanese.
If by some miracle, I get free time, maybe I will try to get this going, but so far it doesn't seem likely.
Sorry, for not keeping everyone informed. Just got swamped with other things.
