Any RS's with painted headlights?
Hey I just wanted to know if anyone had painted their headlight of their RS(not the new body style). If so could you post a pic, please. Already tried searching too, all I got was pics of WRX's.

never seen that on an RS...
saw a Hon-duh who had taken a blue magic marker and colored his headlight bulbs... :lol:
but not painted headlights...

I know that someone painted the reflectors on the outside of the headlight housing. try a search i dont know under what but i'll try to find the thread.

here you go i'm gonna do this to my rs when christmas break comes around. Only problem is that i can't make up my mind on what color to do the surround (black/grey/brp) ok later,

it's paint. you can do it the same way that the newage boys do it. Follow their instructions if you're gonna try.

actually those in the pic are light covers, mcdade sells them, the are carbon fiber......SubyObsessive, if you paint the reflectors your lights wont reflect and therefore become useless.

how are they ^^ light covers? Have you seen the new mustangs like that? or the new volvo's? it's all paint and you don't paint the reflective part you paint the outer edge like the new headlight mod people do to their wrx's. If you can prove your point that they are covers of some sort i'll admit i'm wrong but until then... :p

It's not only lite covers,the outer rim can be painted,but you have to take the headlite apart to do it.I know myself ,Andrew and some others have done this and it comes out well.Do a search under my posts,the instructions are there.That mod is were the WRX guys got the idea to do theres.

hmm i've seen those on the sti website before and always liked them but i always thought they would be illegal since they don't have a blinker. No offense or anything but i'd rather have the real morrette's than the sti stuff.

Hey all....im new on here...i dont own an impreza but ive been a loyal impreza freak since their debut....my recomendations influenced my girlfriend (Prezziebaby) to get an r.s
Anyways....one thing ive done on my focus which looks great is first remove the headlight housing completley from the car. Grab a blow dryer and acopuple of dull flathead screwdrivers(works faster with 2people) heat up the silicone around the headlamp housing and use the screwdrivers to help split them apart.....once the halves are seperate clean them and remove all silicone remnants. You can then remove the mirror plated reflector around teh bulb assembly.Once removed sand it a bit to give the primer something to adhere to.Once primered paint it the color of your choice.Black looks great and thats what i did on my rainforest green Focus. make sure it is dry of course before putting it back into the housing(by the way this hole procedure take a whiel so make sur eyou have time) Then go get some silicone sealant and while one person holds the halves together you apply the silicone.THIS PART IS VERY IMPORTANT AS IF YOU DONT SEAL IT PROPERLY MOISTURE WILL MAKE ITS WAY INTO TEH HOUSING. overall it looks great and i think it would look awesome on an r.s. if it was matched to teh body color....if you want to see pics of how it looks on my focus e mail me.

It's been done,,,,,,,,,
and the oven method works alot better then a hairdryer or heat gun.225 degrees fr about 15 min.

Well, technically, those are illegal, since the corner lights contain the orange side reflector, which you are supposed to have. You need an orange reflector on the front side, and a red reflector on the rear side. (This is why APC had to redesign thier Altezza-style tails for lots of cars, they didn't have a red side reflector in them.) So even those of us who have the clear corners are running illegal, too, but I just carry a set of stick-on reflectors in my glove box, and if I get hassled for it, I'll just pull them out and tell the cop that I just got them and was going somewhere to wash the fender so it will stick on;) Get it? Got it. Good!:D

Agree with HondaH8er. I know people who've been hassled for running clear bulbs in the front corners (I'm not taking out my PIAAs though!:D )
