Anyone have a ViS Carbon Fiber hood (GC8)?

Anyone here have a GC8 carbon fiber hood from ViS Racing? I was just curious with the quality cause Ive seen some aweful experiences on here with carbon fiber hoods. If you do, where did ya get it? I see Nopi.com has em... Thanks for any help.

I did a search.. I put in VIS hood and jack poop came up. Plus Im at work so I dont have time to waste. If I can get online, I gotta do what I can and get my ass off. :D Sweet hood though. Where did ya get it? I know Nopi has em but Im not so sure about their organization.. Thanks !

I've recently seen a carbon fiber VIS hood up close (for an FD RX-7) and wasn't very impressed with the look or quality of the piece. It was surprisingly heavy too.

my friend's hood from karbonlite looked pretty good....or you can spend about $900 for a pure carbon fiber hood...

Hey Rich,
The hoods by VIS is quite nice, I used to order their CF hoods for my customers and they are much nicer then most other companies. I have compared the CF hoods by VIS <VS>Fiber Image and they are both nice. Now the Fiber Image hoods does NOT have the carbon fiber rolled over the edges, where as the VIS is fully rolled to the underside and finished. But the Fiber Image hood does come with carbon scoop and vents, where the VIS does not, but they do include fiberglass ones. So if you are serious on getting a VIS hood I would definately recommend it. It is an A+ quality hood. Sides for $475 that is definately a deal. Or the Fiber Image one, but much more money, also good luck trying to find one. I've written to the company and they NEVER got back to me wheres VIS is quick with the responses.

yeah you can order it directly from VIS themself. All you have to do is email them and tell'em that you want to buy a CF Hood for the GC8 and they'll get right back to you...just make sure that they give you the $475 "internet" price otherwise the hood is like 550 or 600 bucks without shipping.

My hood is a VIS...I got it from Nopi and it DOES come with the scoop and the vents...:DI just didn't like the way it looks with the carbon stuff in it....so I put the original ones in.

OK.. Nopi is officially on the poop list. I get a call today.. not yesterday or the day before when I ordered it, saying they dont have the hood in stock and I wont have it for like 3 weeks. This is bad because I have a rather large show to go to Nov 29th. I dunno if Ill have it in time. SO I told em to hold off. Im tryin to get in contact with anyone from ViS racing directly and their phone just keeps ringing... I dunno. Anyone know of any place that might keep these in stock? Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

My girl spoke to them on Monday. They were shipping it out then and said Ill have it in 7-10 days. So well see. Hopefully everything will work out. I got into a show at the Nassau Coliseum so Id kinda like it for that.

I got my hood today. All I can say is wow. Just wow. The hood scoop and vents came with the hood in carbon fiber too. Damn does it look good.. and the quality is awesome. Im gonna throw it on tomorrow. Good stuff I tell ya ...

Thats awesome, but I was just wondering are you sure the scoop/vents are carbon fiber as well, and not just carbon?? the last time I was told from the guys at VIS they told me they don't do those in carbon fiber , but in black carbon.?? just wondering is all...

They are carbon fiber. It looks awesome. I didnt expect em to be carbon fiber myself.

Oh yeah.. I got it right from ViS. I got the hood pins from them too. They finally got back from Sema in Vegas, and thats when I ordered it.

My hood is from VIS. I have no complaints about it. It actually fits quite good. I heard that they were having problems with their earlier hoods. Fit is good, the only complaint I have are the vents. I just don't like the appearance of them.
