Nice, i think it looks alright, not a fan of cf on anything but black cars though... seems to stand out too much or something

Very Nice!!! i love it!

i dont care for the wing, the hood could pass an a highly modified exterior, but just those two, looks out of place.
| ranger5oh | 06-30-2005 04:18 PM |
Peronal opinion is that CF looks cheap. Looks better with some of it painted and just little hints of cf. That hood is overkill too... all the vents look a little ridiculous
| eltrouble | 06-30-2005 04:26 PM |
I'm pure performance, so several hundred dollar body panels don't do a thing for me. Plus the stock aluminum hood is lighter anyways...
For the price tag it's definitely not worth it. But if you are going to get CF, at least paint the thing, the CF-look is pretty rice.

Not bad. Never been a fan of the wing but I'm liking the hood.

Umm, the pillars and roof should be painted black for that to look good. Or, it would look good if the car was all WRB.
| drain bramage | 07-01-2005 12:16 AM |
i would like it better if it had some tint
| Handsdown | 07-01-2005 01:38 AM |
the wing looks stupid.
at least the hood adds some vent for lower engine bay temperatures.
it's not very good looking though.

The wing looks ricey as hell. The hood is not bad though. I agree with ranger5oh, get some of it painted. The way you got it right now just doesn't flow.
| ludecrous | 07-01-2005 12:33 PM |
paint the roof black and the A and C pillars, and deck lid and it could look alright. Other wise paint the hood blue with just vent areas being in CF.
| sick boy | 07-01-2005 12:43 PM |
rice, but not really, since you got an engine to back up the looks.
| spoolindc2 | 07-01-2005 07:40 PM |
How is CF rice??? Every JGTC car in the circuit is made practically entirely from CF.. Now granted the weight differnece here wont be beneficial for performance... However it certainly isnt rice...
| KAX | 07-01-2005 07:42 PM |
just because something is used in JGTC doesnt mean it cant become rice. It all depends on the context (not of the word) of how your using the part. An STi wing on an STi isnot rice, but an STi wing on a civic or something non-subaru is rice.
That hood is just way too busy without a fullbody kit and other exterior peices.

Being "rice" is an opinion with no set rules. So you can say that one thing is rice and someone will argue and say that it's not, i mean look at this thread how it goes back and forth. Asking if something is rice (unless sarcastically) is just like saying "Do you like this?". People that don't are probably going to say Rice... and the others are (to not be called rice themselves because it's obviously one of the worst things people can call you or your car  ) going to say it's not.
I'm not complaining that people dislike it or say that it's rice... i just think it's a term that is thrown around alot and is overused.

Thats the seibon CF hood isn't it?? I was thinking of getting that one for my 98 RS (black). I Don't think it looks bad, but it would probably look better painted the same as the rest of your car
This car don't look bad with a CF hood

CF is rice because for the money you pay to have one, the performance gains are minimal. And for those with aluminum hoods, the CF is actually heavier than stock...
If you're going to get something CF, at least paint it to match the car.

I completely agree with you. What i gave you is my definition of "rice" and how i view it. I also hate when people call things or ask if things are rice, because its all pointless opinions anyway. End of hijack.

Do what ever you want. Its your car and if you like it, thats all that matters. Its funny how when someone doesnt like something its automatically called rice. I thought if it had no Function and people put it on there car it was RIce. Like the STi wing. Why isnt that rice? I know , cuz it came that way. But it has no use? If it did, people wouldnt be doing the wingless look. Wich looks way better that that bookshelf on the back of the STi :-)( Floame away, I dont care) :D Anyways do what you want. But dont spend $700 on a CF hood to paint it, thats dumb. Or like was stated earlier paint parts of it or accents on it ot faded so you can still see the CF. But dont cover it up. Just save youreself some money and get fiberglass or keep it stock. CF isnt for everyone and the only reason to get it on our cars is for looks. The stock hood weighs alot less but it really dings up easy.

STI wing is functional so i dont know why you think it's not... its been discussed many times that it provides downforce at around 75+ mph so you are just incorrect. many people go wingless because they dont like the look (which seem like you are one of those people) or because it draws too much negative attention from police or whatever.
however i do agree about the cf hood thing. Its not a look that truly inhibits a sports enthusiast. its merely a cosmetic choice with no gain, although i must admit i do like some cf hoods once they are painted a little bit on the edges and only leaving the center of the cf hood in cf. (dont know if others have seen or know what i;m talking about but its difficult to explain)

ooops my bad. But since the speed limit is 70 here in florida, my friend in his Sti would never go over that, since that would be breaking the law :D so we couldnt tell you if we felt any difference or not. :D

Yeah go for it. I think www.importfan.com makes the whole kit plus bumper, trunk wing and www.carboncreations makes the pillars, door panels fenders and other stuff. Good luck.
