Cool place to put your EZPASS. Just incase you didnt think of it.

If you were like me, you didnt want an ugly EZPASS stuck on your windshield. I used to leave it down by the ashtray and I'd hold it up by hand when I went through the toll (which suck when your driving stick)
So I thought this was a good idea and I couldnt believe it took my so long to think of this.
I put it here:

And when you go through the toll, just flip your visor down and it works perfect:

Hope that works for you too....:disco:

When EZ - Pass was first introduced I went through Harriman Toll on the NYS Thruway at about 70mph. Got a green light, and a citation in the mail. So, yes it works at high speed, but after getting my EZ - Pass privileges suspended for 2 years, I never go through at more than the posted speed.
P.S. There was no fine for speeding through the lane, just the suspension of my account for 2 yrs.

ive had no problems with mine just sitting on the passenger side floor :D is it really neccesary to hold it up or have it in windshield?
| nomadtw | 02-24-2003 09:01 AM |
the ez pass system will read at up to 100mph, but for some dumb reason the posted speed in pa is 5mph, i can go through a ticket booth at a higher avg speed than that, i can enter at 15 slow down to about 2 pull ticket and speed away faster than anyone in the ezpass does.
(i dont' have ezpass)

Wow ! Good idea !
I usually keep mine in the little tray near the cig lighter and just grab it and hold it up when needed (which isn't often anyway)...
I keep a couple pics up in that plastic piece but I really like the EZ Pass idea

Awesome idea! Though this prolly shoulda been put in Tri-State since the rest of the country doesn't have it, yet.
I have that suction cup holder that I would just throw on when I knew I needed to use it, so no velcro for me. :D
Also, if my friend felt like driving, I could just swap it into his car.
Mike~~

Cool, I wasnt sure if I'd get flames for such a simple idea or if people might actually use it too.
Ya know honestly, I didnt even know that the tri-state is only area with EZPASS. I thought the whole country had this:confused:
Go Tri-State, its your birthday:disco:
I heard that EZPASS may start to work at "drive-thrus" like McDonalds and and BK. Dont know if its true though.....
I think that rumor about EZPASS being able to tell whether your speeding is crap. I do 90mph everyweekday on the turnpike and I havent received a ticket for speeding yet.
Muhahahahaha:lol:

MA has the "Fastlane" which is the same thing. I use it when I drive all the way down to NJ. Your EZpass will also work up here through MA.
I usually have my passenger hold the pass in the window for me, but this is a really good idea. I can keep the thing out of my glovebox also.
Thanks,
Paul G.

we have Fastrak in the bay area, with its big ugly pass too, and it can't read it unless it is right on the wind shield :p

75, 100... jeez!
the reason the speed limits are 5mph is because the poor workers there have to walk across the lanes to get around and dodge you crazy maniacs.

cool place but the only thing is....the holder will stretch and sag and look nasty if you take it off and i use CD visors....o well ....actually you don't have to have your EZ pass showing....all you can even leave it in your glove box or your armest and it will register. I do that and works everytime

Well, I dont meen to steal your thunder but I have been running my EZ pass module in this location on the passenger side visor since september. Its held in place by the velcrow stip that it comes with plus a rubber band arond the visor to hold it in place. I found that in the hot weather of the summer the nylon of the visor begins to strech with out the rubber band. :)
Kudos to you for taking the picks and posting them though.

I just want to let everyone in NYC know that, if your tag is not fixed to the windshield with the strips you can be stopped at the toll plaza, have your tag taken, and issued a $50 dollar summons.
P.S. I have one question? What is the big deal about mounting the tag where it's supposed to be? I've had mine there since I got it, and I find that it's much easier not having to fumble around with trying to find the tag?

OT: I actually got an letter from EZ-Pass here in NewYork which said that I went through an EZ-pass booth doing 25mph, and that if I do it again then they will suspend my Ez-pass:disco:
I didn't think 25mph was too fast, it obviously works at that speed anyway:lol: Because they billed me..

here in Cali we have something similar to the EZPass called "Fastrak" with the same concept to use on bridges and toll roads and I've discovered that I can put it anywhere in the car (glove box, map holder in door, armrest, etc) and it will still sense it and if all else fails, the camera reads my plate and charges me. Does the EZPass do the same or is that just exclusive to California?
