Cwest version 2 body kit help. part 1

Rentalpillow7 03-29-2004 03:17 PM

Cwest version 2 body kit help.
Ok i have this kit in my garage painted and ready to go. The problem is that it came with a bag of bolts and nutts and what not, i seem to have misplaced the bag... permanently. I was wondering if the kit will mount right up w/the stock connectors. And if they don't what can i do about it. Any help would be appreciated.
wrxpeed 03-29-2004 11:24 PM

Is it real, or replica? I have the replica front bumper from VIS, the holes on the front bumper need to be made slightly larger, pretty easy with a drill and bit. As for the real one, I don't know. But props, how long did you wait to get it and at what price?

there is no replice for the version 2 kit.

I got it a day after i said i would buy it from thien @flatfours. He gave it to me for 1300$ unpainted except the front grill, i got the sides and front bumper painted for free by the body shop my car is at right now. But can i use the stock stuff to mount this kit anyone?
exhondaguy 03-30-2004 03:57 AM

I can assure you theres a replica for the cwest ver2. My friend who is a member on this board has it on his car, the fitment seems to be great for a replica, sorry i dont have pics of his car though :(
scrappydoo 03-30-2004 05:00 AM

Ya there is a replica for the v2 kit.
Rentalpillow7 03-30-2004 02:39 PM

lawn boy 03-30-2004 10:13 PM

wrxpeed 03-30-2004 11:33 PM

If half you guys searched before running your mouths, you may come to see that I had a post last week with the pics I posted of the replica bumper on my car, so don't tell me that it doesn't exist, when you post responses before you actually search, you really show your newbie colors.

here try this:

Probably the dumbest thing I've heard today, and there are two pregnant women in my office. Somebody could say something stupid like that to you like "couldn't afford the STi I see" and if someone can tell me a real difference between my GP Moto intake and the AVO intake (besides the raised AVO lettering and $150 extra) please let me know. Until then, I'm happy with anyone who copies the best and does it right and then gets into american mode and sells it cheaper.

Cheers,
Joel

Could you tell the difference if you saw them side by side, by the way, how long did you wait to get it. You know you are paying quite a bit more for the name. NO doubt it is higher quality, but you think it is $700 dollars more, I could buy 4 of my bumpers for your 1. You're the one asking how to put on a frickin bumper, you should check yourself pal, also did I hear you wanted to save money by not taking it to a "good" body shop to get it fit properly, which is stated by most aftermarket body kit manufacturers, to have it professionally installed. Oh yeah, who was it who misplaced all the parts?

Don't ask for help pal, if you're first going to call someone who was willing to help you a liar, which you did in the first place. And second, don't ever try to bash someone because it didn't seem reasonable to spend 4 times the amount of money on a physically similar product with a quarter of waiting a period.

Couldn't you just poke around a home depot and find stuff about the right size if its just nuts and bolts? Even drill new holes if you have to

I kinda agree on the replica sentiment (ie it sucks to pay for the real thing and then see someone have it for less) but I'll never flame anyone for it... just not for me :)
Rentalpillow7 03-31-2004 03:11 AM

I don't see the comment where you helped me.

In fact Silverf4 is the only one that has said anything that might help.

I think its lame that people can buy replica parts. Its tacky, makes the real stuff not worth having as you all said. Just like now how all women now have replica Gucci bags. Whats the point having the real thing if u can buy crap for cheaper.
wrxpeed 03-31-2004 11:31 AM

I didn't say i did help you, I said I was willing to help at one point. And I'd rather save the money to actually make my car go faster, than make it look faster. True, the kit looks sick, but frankly, I'd rather save the money for a Utec, which in my case I did. That and I needed the Kit asap because my stock bumper was damaged, I didn't have the time to wait for the shipping and all.

Ya with a replica you can't get quality like this:

yeah power to the people!:p rentalpillow7 has a point. It's whatever the consumer prefers, real or fake....some people get good deals or have money, and some people try to pay their bills. its whatever they want...
 Bryan, I sense a little hostility..

Hey Luis, did you call Joe over at Wet Works Garage? I'm sure any good body shop who specializes in body kits should find a workaround in installing the kit.

And wrxspeed, I think Luis is a lil frustrated with having a kit ready to install, not having to drive his car for months due to an accident, having an incompetent body shop refusing to install the kit and taking their sweet azz time repairing it, and himself losing the install hardware . . . so throw him a break. :)

Good Luck Luis!! Please post pics when you're all done!

yeah, I apologize as well, I'm kinda in a nut bag mood this week, haven't seen my girl for like 5 weeks and very low on cash(got $4 in my bank account) and just want to dig into my car with mods, but have no funds to do so. But scrappy did have to cut back looks like quite a bit on his bumper to fit the FMIC, same as most everyone with most aftermarket FMICs. How much you guys paying for the jobs. I'm paying $800 for my whole front clip, sanding all down to bare metal on the whole front, hood, fenders, then painting and fitment of the new bumper, as well as mounting the fog lights in the bumper with all the prep.

Good luck and hope you post pics ASAP, i'll have the cash flow in like 2 weeks. got paid today, but its the 1st, so payments are due as well.

OH PAINT

i got my kit painted for free at the body shop that was working on my car, cuz i crashed a while back. They did a real nice job matching the paint, except for the rear bumper which they didn't paint, i'm still debating putting the rear on the car anyway. So i get the car back stock looking + i have the painted kit sitting around in the garage. Pics will come once its on.
G-force 04-02-2004 03:25 AM

sounds like we need a group hug! :D
scrappydoo 04-02-2004 04:21 AM

Actually that car belongs to Traction. He used a Perrin fmic with Turboxs piping, then had the fmic moved upwards so it matches with the opening of the bumper. Then had the bumper molded so it meets perfectly with the fmic. Also his bumper is a replica. And sad to say after having the car completed for about 3 weeks he parted everything out the get a STI.
Fijimunkii 04-02-2004 07:49 AM

So how much would a complete replica V2 kit cost?
scrappydoo 04-02-2004 10:36 AM

I'm not sure if they make a full replica kit. I know the replica bumper is about $290 IIRC.
Rentalpillow7 04-02-2004 11:08 AM

I paid 1300 for the whole kit from thien + free paint, from the body shop. :D

Lost the lowsy bagabolts.

Now i just need my car back

They don't have the full kit, although you can get the V1 peices. they do have the replica grill though.

you can Email Motorex or C-West Japan and tell them what happened they might either help you match the bolts and spacers or get C-West Japan to send some in the mail I wanted 6months for mine and two weeks after I got it I saw the replica I could have saved so much money
the people at Motorex dont seem to care about you unless you are buying a skyline I would try www.C-West.co.jp and use babble fish to translate one of there guys can speak English
