Does Anyone out there make reverse glow gauges and aftermarket tailight for 2004 WRX?
I'm exhausted from searching. There's gotta be someone that makes a reverse glow gauges for the 2004 WRX. And what about aftermarket tailights for the 2004 WRX WAGON . Someone please help!
rabbitnutz 10-17-2004 02:55 PM

how about you give me $200, and i kick you in the nads instead of spending that money on altezza's...jk.... please don't, and as far as gauges go get an sti cluster... you'll thank yourself you have... APC makes some tails, but apc is crap... they all leak. Buddy of mine has some altezzas on his integra, and every time after the rain his tails turn into aquarium
BrysImpreza 10-17-2004 03:26 PM

Nope, no wagon POS lights for you. Spend the $200 you would have wasted on something that makes the car look stupid to make the car ride better or go faster.

As for the reverse glow gauges, www.procarparts.com

Who said I wanted to put stupid lights on my car? I only asked about them...didn't say anything about buying them. As far as the link to the glow gauges go, they only fit the 02-03 so we're right back where we started.
ScoobyNubieToo 10-17-2004 06:51 PM

Everyone has opinion on what they like but NONE of you have answered the question. I didn't ask "Who likes aftermarket lights on a 2004 Wagon".
ScoobyNubieToo 10-17-2004 06:52 PM
have you looked on ebay ?
Yep, but nothing that fits the '04 wagon. On the glow gauges, can't use the 02+03 gauges due to Subaru reversing the MPH and RPM's on the 04 WRX.

I answered it, NO ONE makes them, because 99.9% of subaru drivers wouldn't buy them. No company is going to make 10 sets just for tardo *******s
brunetmj 10-18-2004 11:51 AM

I looked for alternate gauges for my 04 RS but never found any. I also experimented with changing bulbs on the existing gauges but got inconsistent results. (it worked but they were to dim) Lastly I contacted the dealership to inquire about prices for the entire cluster. they told me they dont sell whole clusters but only internal parts. (individual gauges, circuit board etc).I liked the tail lights on the 04 so I never looked for alternatives.
AdamRX 10-18-2004 01:12 PM

what about this place for gauges http://www.importintelligence.com/ they offer stuff for needles too. Plus the backgrounds on the gauges can be other stuff besides white!
I gonna order from them soon. The gauge layover wont change the nightime color, however
subieworx 10-18-2004 04:48 PM

No offense, but you bought a wagon and are now concerned about appearance. Doesn'[t make much sense.
makanai 10-18-2004 05:23 PM
No offense, but you bought a wagon and are now concerned about appearance. Doesn'[t make much sense.
Hey now! You don't have to give us wagon owners any love, but why you gotta be hatin'?

Seriously though, I know the wagon isn't exactly the sexiest car in the world, but that doesn't mean we don't care about it's appearance. If it gets scratched, do we not touch up? If it dulls, do we not wax? If it gets crapped on by foul fowl, do we not clean?

Okay, to be fair, it would look kind of stupid if we tried to go all 2Fast 2Furious with a wagon . . . but then, I kind of think all that bling stuff looks stupid, so why not do it?

But, back to the main point, I know of no aftermarket tails, nor would I personally recommend them anyway. I haven't seen any reverse glow gauges either.

What are you trying to say? A wagon can't be cool? Do you think I wanted a wagon? The WRX Wagon was the only vehicle that met ALL my needs: Practical for the family, AWD, and FAST. We buy vehicles for different reasons, don't hate on the wagon just because you don't need one!
ScoobyNubieToo 10-18-2004 11:50 PM

I'LL SAY IT ONCE MORE! I'm asking for info, not opinions. I don't give a crap if YOU think I shouldn't put them on, I'll personalize my vehicle however I see fit!

Well, then you got your answers, didn't you.

I wasn't trying to say that wagons can't look good. Just that you would be in a better position to snag a woman in something other than a wagon. I know some women like tailights and EL gauges, but the fact that you are in a wagon would probably over ride that. I think a wagon should look super clean and go like hell. That is what it was designed for IMO.
BrysImpreza 10-19-2004 08:27 AM
No offense, but you bought a wagon and are now concerned about appearance. Doesn'[t make much sense.
Ya, that has to be one of the most ignorant and arrogant statements out there, think before you speak.

-1000 points for you

And for your information, women love me and all the wagons I've had, they all thought the sedan / sportscar thing was alot of compensation, so what are you hiding?
Subahaulic 10-19-2004 09:56 AM

Many women immediately appreciate the potential of all that extra room ONLY available in a wagon!
subieworx 10-19-2004 10:51 AM

I'm not hiding anything and was not trying to be arrogant. Sorry if I came off that way. Fact of life is though that if you are going to be successful in picking up women teh wag0n is not going to be all that helpful. Neither will a sedan really. You need a Ferrari or something.

Any woman that you pick up based soley on your car is not a woman that you will want to be with. What a dumb@$$

if you REALLY want reverse gauges, i would be willing to trade you gauge clusters, i do have low miles on mine.

This thread is going to the RICE SIDE!!!
satrya 10-19-2004 02:29 PM

9-2x
Regarding alternate taillight for a GG (my2002-2005 impreza wagon), there are posts in other threads suggesting the fitment possibility of the Saab 9-2x's. The tailgate & rear quarter panel looks similar enough in the tailight area to work. However, after seeing a 9-2x up close myself, it looks like the tailgate is more vertical than in a GG, so while it's the only option I know of, I wouldn't expect a direct plug-and-play fitment. You may need to fill the notch on the bumper as well.

Regarding reverse glow, one inconvenient option would be to get an older speedo/tach cluster and put on reverse gauges on them. Of course you'd have to take care of the odometer reading legality.

my 2 cents

I can't tell you how tempting it was to trade in my 2004 WRX sedan for a 2005 WRX wagon. My first car was a Cavalier Wagon, and I've always like the way wagons look. :)

They didn't have any wagons on the lot when I bought my '04, and I pretty much HAD to buy one when I got mine. My lease was up on my 2001 Firebird Formula, and I had to drive to Ocean City, Maryland from Canton in about a month. I had to learn how to drive a manual car before that time. ;)

Wagon power......Wagons's rule!

It's you car you like the lights get them. Do something different, and stop worrying about rice. Its getting so every car on here looks the same.
WV_guy 10-22-2004 09:12 PM

Sorry about the about, the wagon and the rice stuff p*ssed me off. It's not only gauges and and lights for the 04's, it's things like mesh fog light covers (try to find those!) Toss in the fact its a wagon and even less stuff is out there. The answer is that you probably looked in the right places, stuff is just not out there for the 04's. The 02-03 people will tell you that it took a long time for stuff to become available for them also.
