Double Beam Euro Headlights
1 Attachment(s)
Has anyone seen this on an actual car? It's from this website Procarparts.com and it looks interesting enough.
http://www.procarparts.com/store/displaydetails.cfm?pID=2002-IMPZ-CHL
But my concern is that it looks a little cheap-- has a sort of cheap, shiny plastic look to the lenses, etc.
I wanted to see if anyone had any more info on it.
Thanks
Bill

I'm still trying to decide which lights I like the least. Morettes or these. At least the Morettes have a true projector light. These are just reflectors (why they are so low priced.)
| Yotsuya | 06-04-2002 05:26 PM |
Nothing wrong with reflectors, if they're good. There are plenty of horrible projector lights out there.
Granted the procar parts lights don't look that good, but I can't pass judgment until you could see them in operation.

I've seen them up close and personal on 2 different cars...They appeared to be glued together very poorly, with melted black plastic, or maybe it was black glue itself, holding the clear cover on. definitely not very neat! The glue was bubbled up onto the clear part. I guess it goes along with their being the cheapest aftermarket lights around. From talking to someone who owns them, he says they are bright, but it's like having driving lights with a very unfocused pattern shining light everywhere...not necessarily on the road.
IMHO...save your money for something better.

I think they look pretty good. Do they have the chrome rings around the lights like the JDM ones?

Any idea how much procarparts charges for shipping?
| | 06-05-2002 01:56 PM |
$20 for shipping.
I ordered a set over the weekend. They will be here on tuesday. I will let you guys know how they look. I can take detailed pics if ya want.

I ordered them because I liked the way it looked on your car. Please let me know how the low beam is at night. Also, If they will be able to support HID headlights.
Thanks and it looks good,

anyway I don't believe a headlight made of plastic and glass can worth so much money for hundreds of dollars, this one is just about 270 USD, it is nearly the cheapest, pretty good for this price and this quality
BTW, the indicator is the same as parking light at the top, using double indicator bulbs, and this one is at night

unfortunately they can't support HID:( because the space around the bulbs are too small

Thanks for the reply!
Are you sure that HID wont fit? The kits I have seen so far dont look like they would be a problem.
Are you happy with the headlights?
doesn't matter either way to me, I think they look good and I will have mine on next week.
Please explain why you dont think they will support HID's,
Thanks

the dealer told me this is the 2nd version of this light, and the one I¡¡get is the first one before releasing, the 1st on has a vent at the top (a real one, not for show), but it didn't pass the Australian road test, and can't use on road, so they changed the design and put a cover at the top, but like andygold said above the cover isn't very good.
I changed the Indicator/parkinglight bulb to very orange and both low beam and high beam bulbs to super white ones as you've seen, I think it better looking, but very attractive to the cops
I don't know whether the Orciari ones are better

Hey,
you do realise that it is illegal for a 'P' plater to be driving the WRX as it is over the power limit available to you :)

WRX is OK, it is just 123kw/t, not over 125, that's why I bought a WRX, not a STI

I got no full insurance, only third party, because too expensive for me, RACV told me more than 11000 AUD for comprehensive, AAMI said they can't insure me, and Justcar is 6000, still quite expensive

odakurama- If it isnt too much of a problem do you mind telling me whe company and product numbers those light bulbs are? They look pretty sweet.
| WhiteWRoX | 06-07-2002 02:18 PM |
Turn signals?
Question: With only one bulb on top how do you wire up a parking light AND a turn signal?
| GenMaster | 06-07-2002 08:46 PM |
My qustion is will the headlamps leak water I mean, will water get into cover? You always know cheap cost always come with a sacrifice in quality.
