Really well done. As much as I hate Linkin Park (was that them, or has my hatred for them made me hear that noise everywhere I listen?) the music fits nicely.

OK, unfortuneatly the original post has been lost in the internets forever, neverland due to some bad timing. Apparently my merge was taking place when the board went down for some maintenance and the thread was lost.
Sorry about that guys. :(
Does anyone have the link to the movie clip? If not...I've got it downloaded, maybe I can get Nick to add it to the Downloads page....

I really loved the video, however I have several issues with it:
- WMV format is bad. Use a known standard that is cross platform and not dependant on having a certain OS or media player installed. MPEG or Quicktime would be the industry's choices.
- Linkin Park. This is a personal preference, but I really hate them. I like NSync better because they at least can dance. NSync can actually sing well without being in a studio too, from what I've heard. Why am I comparing Linkin Park with NSync? They're the same damn thing, only Linkin Park is about a foot shorter and tries to pass themselves off as something other than a boy band.
Anyway, thanks for putting it together (whoever....). Your cable television is much clearer than mine. My cable's picture quality is about as good as having rabbit ears, only with a few more channels. I don't bother to record anything off of it.

Too bad the original thread is gone. There was a link in there for the first movie pou did for the Montreal Subaru club, just good to Limp Bizkit's "My way" but all the footage was obivously of Subie's related to the Montreal club, really slick. Hopefully some can repost the link to the first vid. Also, he was looking for some song ideas to use for his next endeavor, since it's gone let's see if I can't recreate it;
Disturbed - Down with the sickness
System of a Down - Chop Suey (or anything else they do)
Ludacris - Roll Out
I think that was it, not the best lyrics and it may be hard to get some of them to fit the vid but they are definitely good to get the adrenaline going.
Keep the videos coming Pou they are great. Speedvision kinda sucks so it's good to see some good footage, even better when it's set to some sweet music. :) If I actually get some time I may try to put something together with the measly amount of footage I have....

Even if the thread is dead, I'm not.
Here's the link to my first vid:

remarcable, I agree that Windows Media is not all that cross platform, but I think the quality/file size id better than mpg..
Anyway, I'll see with mpeg for the next one...
Concerning the next song to use, in the other thread I was saying that the song is found. It will be "Smack my bitch" by Prodigy. I edited the song to make it shorter (4:05 instead of 5:41). I did this because I will do the video on the Canadian Rally Championship and finding clips for 5:41 in 4 hours of tapes is harder than finding 3:40 in 14 hours of tapes like the WRC!!

WOW ! Wish I had that much material. I've only got about 2 hours worth of stuff, just started a couple of months ago. Doesen't help that my wife accidentally taped over some of it. Oh well. Gonna have to shell out some $$ for some real videos soon I guess.

Pou, can you think of why I am getting a decompressor error when I try and play your video? I've already removed all zone security that would be preventing codec download, etc. and no luck.

Conduit,
I have no idea why you have the error. Download the video on your disk first (right click, save target as).
Also make sure you have the latest Windows Media Player (I have version 7.1 if i remember correctly).

You may also need the latest DirectX runtime and media extensions. For some reason this seems to help. Maybe they changed a few of the codecs in the latest release?

I agree about the cross platform compatibility. heck, it's hard enough just to get some files to play on windows (don't get me started). Really though, you spend countless hours on creating this video, whats the harm in spending another 20 minutes to encode it into another format if it helps reach more people? That's the whole reason you made it, right? So that as many people as possible can see it and enjoy it. I am trying to convert it to an mpg for a mac friend of mine now, but would much rather have it in an original encode if you have room somewhere to put it up. btw, it was probably mentioned in one of the 8 or 12 threads re: this video but is the song by Linkin Park and what is the name of it? Thanks, and it is an excellent video, very nice work.

Ah, you need the DivX codec.

In Linkin Parks Def...
I have to say, all you who bag on Linkin Park have to look at them in a different perspective....
I give them MAD PROPS for being a good Christian band who made a successful crossover to Secular Mainstream...
The song has gotten played by radio, but their Heart is in the right place.
I'll support ANY GOOD Christian band, who can entertain & play good music; Hip Hop, Punk, or WHATEVER!
Listen to the words, & put it in a GOD perspective...May be the best thing you ever do. :D
BTW; Propers for the DOPE Editing!!!:D I know how much work a project like that can be.

My god, have a little self control. How incredibly inappropriate! Don't come on a public bulletin board and start proselytizing! If we wanted to put things in a GOD perspective we'd go find www.falwell.com and do our best to cut out the part of our brains that processes logic and intelligence.

I didn't even know they were a christian band. That explains my immediate dislike of them, other than the music.
The video compilation was great, and the MSC video has a perminant residency on my desktop. It gets played whenever I have people over who are the least bit interested in cars.

Maybe they have two different names for that song, but I found it under the name "in the end".
The video editing was completely in sync with the video. I love it. The countdown for the start, matches the lyrics, "when the pendulm swings" McRae doing a pendulm turn, "it all falls apart" Delacor's shirt knowb falling off and a few more that I cant remember. Things like when McRae slams the hood of his failing Focus and the song gets edgyer, and the cars often land in time with the rythem.
Simpy Superb.
Greg
=wants to go out and buy a digital video camera and editing soft ware now. (but also knows that the equipment doesn't make a good video)

You use Windows Media Player, but you need to have the DivX codec installed.
Try this...
http://www.dvd-wizards.com/vcdhelp/kscodecsv433.zip
This includes OpenDivX V4.0 (Project Mayo), DivX V3.2, 3.11Alpha, DivX WMA Audio , MPEG-Layer 3 Audio, AC3 Audio and MPEG-4 VKI. It is Freeware.

Saw this video at my friend's house. It had potential.
Anybody else got a version of it that'll play on my Mac or a Linux box and that has something other than a Born-again psycho band as a soundtrack???
Oh, you've got a version that has some misogynous "Slap My Bitch Up" soundtrack? Never mind. That's not an improvement.
"Slap My Bitch Up". Gawd. Maybe I'll just listen to the born-again version!

If they were ever a Christian band they aren't now nor are their songs. I'm not saying they are terrible for that, just that they aren't a Christian band.
