I think it looks cool. I could never do that, i would be too worried about messing it up.
patricksmith04 11-01-2006 10:20 AM

^ a second that. But the black console looks good.
LastResort 11-01-2006 10:24 AM

Looks real good.
Suberman 11-01-2006 10:31 AM

wow!!...that looks great!!

correct me if i'm wrong, the real S204 dash is actually matt finished and not just painted matt black...if that makes any sense at all...
offset 11-01-2006 10:37 AM

I like that a lot. I think painting the gauge surrounds black still cleans up the look even more though, and they are pretty easy to get to.

yeah the real dask pieces are a flat black just like the knob centers. I like the look of the semi gloss instead of the flat. I like how it came out and makes a huge improvement to the interior. The black around the guage bezel is soo much better to look at versus the the grey.

What did you use to paint the dash with?
Damn Yankee 11-01-2006 12:21 PM
What did you use to paint the dash with?
for the paint I used SEM aerosol cans. plastic primer and Landau black for the finish color. Use 3m scuff pad (gery or red) to ruff up surface and then prime, paint.
semaj 11-01-2006 04:52 PM

I love the headliner.
Golfa 11-17-2006 02:31 PM

dude can you please provide details as to where you bought the alcantara and where you had it installed?

share the wealth man
Golfa 11-17-2006 02:50 PM

also, how did they approach the headliner? did they bend it and take it out? Was it damaged @ all? because the windshield is the only way to remove it without bending it i believe
STi-JDM 11-17-2006 03:09 PM

the alcantara headliner is on my next list... :D
eurospek 11-17-2006 06:29 PM

Looks good!
WRXDriftR 11-18-2006 11:51 AM

can you go to the EDIT mode on IWSTI, copy the entire thread in the html format, then post it on nasioc instead of linking the page. it will have all the pics and info right here ;)

Must say, im VERY jealous of your headliner
digitalpimp 11-18-2006 02:09 PM

where did you get the alcantara? anybody know of a good online source?
RX Renesis 11-19-2006 07:25 AM

hey i got a question.. how did u manage to spray the HVAC control knobs black without covering over the white little images? and do u also have any idea on spraying the hazard button black? wihtout covering the triangle? thank!
LightWerkz 11-19-2006 11:55 AM

Those look like the real jdm hvac controls...no way in hell someone could mask those letters off.

Buy a black hazard from an 04...done.
Anub1s 11-19-2006 12:12 PM

Looking good there mate.
Kurokaze 11-21-2006 12:25 PM

+1 on where you got the alcantara? I'm going to do the same thing with the 07 limited knobs from Jamie (SubaruGenuineParts).
Man, It looks great!
superblkwrx 11-21-2006 12:44 PM

Thats because he said he bought actual S204 HVAC controls not painted them. He painted the other plastic peices that go around the hvac and radio(you can buy these too at japanparts.com).
livnlrg8ez 11-22-2006 12:13 PM

thanks for the compliments guys:)

the interior came out great and love the look over stock.

The HVAC dials are real JDM one ordered from japanparts, everything else black was painted.

The Alcantara was purchased online from http://www.gulffabrics.com/ but any shop you bring it to will be able to order for you.

The headline comes out easy once all the correct interior pieces come out; front seats, arm rest console, etc..

If there is any one in NJ that wants a peek let me know.

Thanks,
dyslexicwrx 11-29-2006 12:07 AM

That looks really good. I have never seen anyone go do that before. Good job!
awdbeast 11-29-2006 12:57 AM

That looks absolutely amazing. For a big budget daily driven scooby I would do that in a heartbeat.

same here.........
Local_Skater 11-29-2006 09:07 AM

Love the headliner man.
Thaddy 11-29-2006 11:11 AM

Exactly what I was looking for, I love the painted center console, I think I'm going to do mine this weekend with a semi-gloss black.
I am cool 30 11-29-2006 12:56 PM

Pulling out the headliner isn't too much of a problem. I did this mod at the end of the summer and it was fairly simple to take in and out, as long as you are careful.
You will have to fold to front seats back so they are totally flat in order to give you enough room to work but suede pillars and headliner is an awesome mod...really makes the blue from the seats, door cards and carpet stand out!
CarQz17 11-29-2006 08:29 PM

i need to go clean up...
bessie 11-29-2006 08:45 PM

Alcantara can be purchased in most fabric stores. They're not cheap though.
Staples 11-29-2006 10:07 PM

wow . . . looks pretty clean
