got high from a painting session!!! pixxxx!!
spray paint gave me a headache the next day. it was welllll worth it. anyways, i sprayed the interior trim with rustoleum with textured black paint. its pretty cool. then after i sprayed my muffler black with high temp bbq grill paint and polished the lip. ;) feedbacks are always welcome.

badass. i don't think i like the texture on the trim too much though, if i were to do mine over again i'd do it with rubberized paint. don't get me wrong though, it's mega badass.
Blue Rabbit 02 10-07-2005 02:40 AM

how hard is it to get the side vent rings out?
crashtest sonny 10-07-2005 02:44 AM

maybe the picture doesnt display it correctly..but in person..its nice..its kinda like stock..i think the flash killed it.

the ring are a PITA. i broke 1 of the tab. you just gotta pry it carefully.

edit: wouldnt the rubberish paint make it too shiney? thats how i would picture it..thats why i didnt want to do it.
dawiyo 10-07-2005 05:41 AM

 Awesome job on the muffler. I like a lot.
wrxsubaruwrx 10-07-2005 07:32 AM

Looks great ! I love the body shot  . Did you do anything to your tail lights ? They look allot more shinny than mine  .
crashtest sonny 10-07-2005 11:38 AM

thanks guys. taillights are as stock as possible. hehe i just try to keep them clean.
vwown3d 10-07-2005 01:55 PM

nice job, that muffler looks very clean!
Mr Kleen 10-07-2005 01:56 PM

looks nice! now all you need is the JDM hazard button. ;)
WallyKincaid 10-07-2005 03:23 PM

I've been told the paint doesnt hold to the interior well. That news kind of disapointed me because I wanted to get the whole, lame (probably tan), interior of an Impreza L Ill be converting to JDM WRX a nice steel gray.

Any info would be great.

*edit* sorry got caught up in the question... I think the textured paint looks great. I also like the painted muffler, this is the second one Ive seen. I think its a cool idea.
disque71 10-07-2005 04:36 PM

gloss black may look better
03WREX 10-07-2005 06:18 PM

I'm sure the pix don't do it justice because it does look "rough" but I'm sure that's a result of the flash.

Car looks good though.
enewtabie 10-07-2005 06:35 PM

Nice job on the painting.
pleue 10-07-2005 08:00 PM

Nice job on the painting. I did mine as well in a textured black and no real issues over a year later. Also, can't really put my finger on it, but threr's something I really enjoy about your car. The lines and colors in the parts you chose really blend in well together.
civilone 10-07-2005 09:00 PM

Wow. That is hardcore madness.
crashtest sonny 10-07-2005 10:21 PM

why thanks guys for all the kind words. :)
kheovnien 10-07-2005 10:40 PM

i think ur dash looks extremely good. anyway u can put up pics that display the finish better? u said it's not as shiny? i kinda like the shininess (is that a word?) but i also like it flat, so this may be the best of both worlds.
chris-man 10-07-2005 10:57 PM

car looks good.
crashtest sonny 10-07-2005 11:48 PM

ill try to get some more pix without the flash.
SiFuSpEc 10-08-2005 12:35 AM

Car's badass! Love the combination, nice. What'd you do to the Muffler exactly??
crashtest sonny 10-08-2005 12:36 AM

just painted the muffler black..and polished the tip. simple. i like to keep it clean and simple without seeing that big nasty silver muffler.
SiFuSpEc 10-08-2005 12:39 AM

Ahh I see, when I had STi muffler, looked like that, lol good work.
crashtest sonny 10-09-2005 12:33 PM

eh.. the sti muffler is definitely robbing some hp from me... its nice and quiet, but its too restricted. if i make it a 3" midpipe, will it be better? or do i have to change the muffler piping too?

nice, my car will look like that oneday
rallyken 10-09-2005 01:48 PM

ok how do you get the cnter trim and the ac off im having a hard time i got the cupholder easily
crashtest sonny 10-09-2005 03:33 PM

^^the center trim, just pull, it'll come out..since you got the cupholder off, with the hole/slit of the cupholder, grab the bottom of the top and yank out. its clips thats holding it. and for the radio bezel, pull as well..theres like 6 clips i think. everything should come off easy once the cupholder is out.
Jonnyfilmboy 10-09-2005 04:57 PM

Wow, stock rims actually look pretty good. Are you using spacers or just wider tires?
crashtest sonny 10-09-2005 05:07 PM

neither. all stock with the re92. im planning on looking for bigger tires.
kheovnien 10-09-2005 05:43 PM

did u get pics without the flash yet? also, did u prep/sand or just use rustoleum black(better description?) spray paint?
crashtest sonny 10-09-2005 10:07 PM

no sorry i havent had time yet...trying to fight over this sickness..
crashtest sonny 10-28-2005 07:34 PM

heres an update without flash.

sorry for the lag
disque71 10-28-2005 11:51 PM

what do you guys think about just painting the trim gloss black?
crashtest sonny 10-29-2005 12:00 AM

i think it'll be too shiney..wont blend very well with the vinyl dashboard. it'll stand out toooo much.
