Grillcraft grills installed

I dremeled out the cross section on the upper grill, sanded and painted it. The lower grill needs the bumper cover off to install. My TXS FMIC is now safe from road debris. The fit and finish is awesome on these grills.

Looks good, care to mention where you got them from? They are so pricey IMO, that is the only thing stopping me from picking them up.

They are pricey but I have only had my FMIC in for a month and it was already getting road blasted. $300 is a lot of dough but I did not want to go the gutter guard route. They are heavy duty and powder coated. My lower grill box got smashed by UPS and I made the driver wait until I opened the box to sign. The grill was in a plastic bag and unscathed.

Here are a few more. You can't really see the grill from a distance...it is just dark.

This grill is made for the stock bumper cover which has that black plastic strip. Here is a before and after shot. The aftermarket upper grill actually fits better than the factory one. Look at the hood gap between factory upper grill and the Grillcraft one.

it's the ultimate in stealth as no one knows you have a FMIC

uh yea you could also just paint the FMIC black..
I'm not a fan of them. If anything the top one is ok the lower is just too much...

I did paint the FMIC {scroll up for photo}. The grill is to prevent destruction to the FMIC and not for the bling. I got the upper to match. I have had the FMIC in for about a month and it has already taken a few good shots from road debris.

well to prevent damage it'll work great. I'm just not a fan of the Grillecraft grilles. Personally I think they mount to far forward. If they were tucked back more I tihnk I may like them more.. But over all I'm not a fan... at least you painted it black!
For anyone else interested you can also make your own for about $30 and a maybe 3 hours. I made my own back when I owned a Honda.

great product. and no, you cannot make your own :)
these are edged, steel, powdercoated - not painted
they dont bend easily, flake, or rust
they are not home depot gutter ghetto guard
they are a professionally crafted product
been using them on the rally car since forever :)

and they WORK - in case you were wondering
(note bottom grill working hard to keep mud/rocks out)

Well I made mine for a honda... same gauge material as grille crafts, granted I painted mine and didn't powder coat it. But it's really not hard and alot cheaper.
Go to grainger and buy the material you like( i believe they call it perferatted steel [sp]). Make a card board template of the area you want the grille to fit. Then transfer that to the perferated steel sheet you get from grainger, cut it out. Paint it (or take it to your local powder coating place ;) ) then go to home depot and get some rubber c channel edging and slide it over the edges... Install is most likely the same. Just zip tie it on... Ta da...
I did upper and lower ones for my civic for about $35 I then removed the lower one because I didn't like the way it looked...
Jamie... Nothing that is made, can not be made by someone else... It just takes a bit more time then ordering it online... :)
