Hey,
That is a mistake on the website, I will have to look into it as there is no way shipping would ever be that expensive for that item. The price is $65 shipped for these horns for nasioc members.

yeah suby_dude it said they weighed 44 or some odd pounds I think thats why the shipping was so high. Check what you guys have the weight set as on your site, maybe a miss placed decimal point?

Dan hi
how would one go about informing you that we ARE a NASIOC member and get these for $65 shipped
is there a code or do we leave a comment on checkout?
thanks!

No special code needed. Either order through the site as normal and in the comment box mention that you were quoted $65 shipped and that you are a nasioc member. Or even easier would be to call us in the shop and mention that while we are making the invoice. That way for sure we get everything setup correctly and get you the correct price.

you probably got the 113db horns, they are more in the $40 range

Not as loud as the $2 horns I had from the junk yard
As soon as its warm enough I'm going to find another Buick horn and wire it into my Supertones.

typically when discussing the supertones
the discussion is referring to the 118db $60dollar-ish top of the line horns
thus the reference to $60, $61, $65'ish costs throughout this discussion
Very sorry for any confusion or grief that
this reference or terminology may have caused you :alien:

let's all do db math now, shall we?

As anyone with a bit of knowledge can tell you a difference of 3db doubles your power.
So, if the stock "meep" horns are 110db, the "wimpy" Supertones are 113db and the "l33t" Supertones that are often hard to find are 118db - then these top dawg horns are 8 times louder than the stock "meep" horns.
heh, far as I'm concerned, no matter what the math says, that's going to be LOUD
I need me a set, I'm just wondering how much rewiring I'll need to do. Got to see if my inherent laziness is stronger than my hatred for the "meep"

Has anyone tried the PIAA horn? I've been itching to buy it, but I always get cold feet due to the lack of information about it.
| 2slofouru | 04-02-2006 11:29 PM |
I went to the rallylights site and checked the sound clip of the "super"tones. I don't know if it was the 113's or the 118's, but it sure sounded wimpy. I'm glad they had the sound clip. Now I'm thinking more along the line of four cadillac horns from autozone or something, I'm not trying to have louder wimpy sounding horns that even more people can hear, I thought the idea was to have more intimidating horns that more people can hear? Was the rallylights sounclip of the stock suby horns or something? I'm going to look for that soundclip someone posted on here.. I know I saw it somewhere..

It might depend on where the mic is.. these guys pretty much shoot straight out from the front of the vehicle. I think the 118 db is for 6ft in front.

What I meant was, instead of going from stock (meep meep!) to hella (MEEP MEEP!), I'm wanting to go (HONNK! HONNK!). The pitch on the sound clip sounded like my stock horn.

BTW when you say relay goes...you could put the relay in your backseat if you wanted to.
Mount or wire?

The relay is for the wiring of the ground and power. Use the existing stock horn wires to hook up to the relay and wire the hellas up to the other posts on the relay.
Search "supertones relay" there are a bunch of better explainations and pictures.
