HELP me choose a color!

What's up people? I have a 96 Impreza L sedan that I am doing some modifying to, I will soon have the 99 RS hood, headlights, grille, and front bumper on my car, and the next thing that needs to be done is to paint it. I have three colors in mind, something like a silverthorne mettalic, a darker grey color I've seen on some euro Impreza's, and the last one being yellow. I have focal rims on my car and I think each of these colors would match my rims but I can't choose! Help me out! I dont know how to put a pic in here but to view my car go to members, then CT, then look for Bill Ryan from Oxford. Thanks a lot!!!!!

go with the darker gray, that's the nicest color out of the three.
tonyc-mpls 01-16-2001 08:09 AM

YELLOW - dude. But only if you can find a metallic or pearl.
burr101 01-16-2001 09:02 AM

that grey is steel blue mica i believe and that color ROCKS.

imprezzed 01-16-2001 09:28 AM

Die Civic 01-16-2001 09:29 AM

can I vote twice? in that case, blue steel mica, again [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif[/img]
Subie Gal 01-16-2001 09:29 AM

just be warned... that if you go yellow...

you stand out like a sore thumb...
idiots (boy racers) will hound you...

Good point Subie gal, but you didnt vote. Do you guys think that steel blue mica will go good with my rims?
Check them out under CT members.
If anyone has any other suggestions my ears are open.

Steel Blue Mica - 3
Yellow - 1
Die Civic 01-16-2001 09:45 AM

they'd go real nice with your focal rims, i like those rims. But I just saw your interior, maybe you wanna go with a white color, or black because, the interior wouldn't really match yellow or steel blue mica, beige goes nice with Red, Black, White.
suby ej25 01-16-2001 03:11 PM

yet another vote for steel blue mica
96Lconversion 01-16-2001 10:44 PM

By the way, after I am done with the exterior, I will be working on the interior, and I will make it match whatever color I paint the car.

i'm gonna have to agree with the previous post. Yellow or Silver won't go well with the interior at all. The Blue Mica Steel will however I think. That color rocks.
The other color I was thinking is something like a midnight blue, but an extremely deep midnight blue that could be mistaken for black possibly in some lights. First vote is probably for the Blue Steel Mica though.
Buckbomb 01-17-2001 02:25 AM

Steel Blue Mica!!! I want to paint mine that color. BTW I also have focals and I think it would look sweet!!
96Lconversion 01-17-2001 05:35 AM

That's 8 for Steel Blue Mica and 1 for Yellow. By the way, anybody know where I can get some grey interior fabric?
Rick Buckner 01-17-2001 08:25 AM

If you want something to stand out. What about a hugger orange.

joe2000impreza 01-17-2001 05:34 PM

go with yellow [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif[/img]
Folklorez 01-17-2001 06:14 PM

yellow
Imprezard 01-17-2001 06:32 PM

Metalic gray.
Or rally blue. Or some high quality white.
You don't want yellow. Trust me. There is one yellow RS in my area. (Check out the Vancouver forum and search for yello RS).
I've seen it. Looks terrible. Like a ricy Malibu taxi :-)

Unless you can mod your car exactly like STi ver 6 (and gold rims are must), don't go with yellow.

Well, this is my car(I learned how to post pics).
Keep giving me your opinions!

So far:
Steel Blue Metallic - 9
Yellow - 4
hugger orange??? - 1
Sonic Blue - 1
silverthorne - 1
Leonardo 01-18-2001 07:26 AM

Steel blue mica rocks but with that interior I would recomend something like Viper GTS Red or the Jet Black from the Diablo.

I was going to get a dark gray IS300 but it had that color interior and looked ugly.

You would have to find a wrecked Impreza with dark interiors and not just the fabric but the whole enchilada.

Also, Torch Red from the Vette.

Be Unique!

96L what kind of wheels do you have?
They look a lot like a friend of mines focals.

They are 17" Focal G7's
I love them, I think they look great
Sin 01-19-2001 12:38 AM

yellowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
96Lconversion 01-19-2001 05:49 AM

So far:
Steel Blue Mica - 10
Yellow - 5
hugger orange??? - 1
Sonic Blue - 1
silverthorne - 1

I think Steel Blue Mica would look great once I changed the interior to grey, anybody know of some leftover grey interior stuff from an Impreza????
I ordered my K&N cone filter yesterday, I can't wait to put that baby on with the MAF adaptor, that thing is going to sound sooooooo nice! I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

yellow is hot but played out, and as for the silverthorne metalic, well you might as well just buy one.

just giving my opinion on hot colors.

copper , like the one on the volvo c70
candy apple green
gunmetal
M3 estoril blue, with white leather interior
omahasubaru 01-29-2001 11:16 AM

I'd like to see the hugger Orange. If I had a Camaro, that's the color I'd choose.

Although the other colors are more classy and don't scream out at you. If you want to scream Orange would do that Yellow is used a lot as is red to be considered fast, yet few do the orange and it is nice, would need a photochopped pic to judge totally... Anyone wanna do that?
Lifino 01-29-2001 11:39 AM

I got it! CLEAR!!!

Or you could at least go Imac and get it in some washed out translucent color. That way you could see the engine working while you drive!!!

Sorry, I couldn't resist[img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/blackeye.gif[/img]

Paint it the same orange color as the Signal Auto Skyline or their Civic. Never would expect it...definite JDM style. Shave the handles as well.

Steel blue mica. Check out some of the BMW paint codes too- they make a cool anthracite (?) that is similiar, its a great stealth color. You may have to change the interior though... maybe it would work. Can anyone photoshop your car pic in the color? That would help too.

Speaking of BMW, I'm gonna have to fire up photoshop...I'd love to see my RS in Henna Red. My brother had an '82 320i in that color. Oh man, was it ever beautiful! Might not be right for the RS...I'll have to check.
