is ebay the only place to buy these tail lights? part 1

Dokturseuss 12-04-2005 12:46 PM

is ebay the only place to buy these tail lights?
apperently i cant post a url yet so you will have to search ebay for the itme, typ e in "SUBARU IMPREZA CARBON REAR LED / SKYLINE TAIL LIGHTS"

i have googled them but have had no luck it would seem that ebay is the only place, they look clean when painted to match the car and there a lil less then the jdm red/clears

just curious if any knows a vender where i can get these, because obviously someone makes them\

thanks for any help
MBasile 12-04-2005 12:54 PM

wow...an ok looking ebay item? I dont have any info on where else to get them, sorry

jnorth85 12-04-2005 12:55 PM

thoes are sort of neat looking, if you painted the housing to match your car.
djoye 12-04-2005 12:55 PM

ugh, heh. I think that guy in NZ that wrecked his RWD wagon into a tree had some tacky Skyline tail lights. Those kinds of parts belong on Peugeots and Hondas or 240's.
Anub1s 12-04-2005 01:09 PM

Those things look like crap.
Dokturseuss 12-04-2005 01:13 PM

i dont need any negative feedback, seeing as how i didnt really ask for it, just curious if anyone has any info on where to get them thanks

and just for my mis sighting, if any of you are interested in these just click on the website direct from the ebay item :P there 175 us dollars on there website not sure about the shipping directly from them though

Edit: there not 175 in us dollers, the currency exchange site XE.-com is way off apperently
Those things look like crap.
They are not any more crap than CF Hoods, trunks, Mufflers, A-Pillars, MAF Sensor Covers, Airbox, Fusebox Covers, Solenoid Covers, Gauge Pod, Interior Trim, and even body kits made of CF. Some things may not look "right" on a subaru, but who cares.

The subaru impreza has a Rally Heritage, but we frown on guys that install a WRC Rally Vinil package. You can't please everyone, so just do whatcha like......as long as it makes you happy. :D

The auction is from the UK, enthusiasts there have a different taste when it comes to modifications. It's like that everywhere you go. I've seen some really tacky "JDM" stuff, but, everyone drools over it cause it's the latest JDM trend. Like those big-A** Do-luck spoilers and body kits.

I remember back in the early nineties when modified cars like ours would be called "euros" by most mags. Then they became Sport Compacts and Tuner Cars. It's all a matter of taste and current trends.
eclone 12-04-2005 02:51 PM

:disco: for the lights but  for the spoiler!

Ricer-rific
Hondaslayer 12-04-2005 03:18 PM

Might want to check on an auction for a BOV,Turbo timer, and NAWWWWWZZZZZZ stickers while your at it.
joehack98 12-04-2005 03:57 PM

it is crap because it isnt functional, the lighting is poor, prone to leaking, not dot approved therefore illegal. The fitment will be nothing close to OEM. It will however make you faster, because your wallet will be lighter. OE is great.

im not asking fo opinions on the way it looks, so please keep em to yourself, i think they look clean(not as good as the jdm red clears, but far better then the altezza esc one though) and i will get them painted to match my car if i get them.

and one of my tail lights is cracked from one of my housemates backing out of the driveway into it :( and i dont want to pay for the extremely expensive factory lights that look meh with the orange

maybe because i want a set, i dont want the left to be cleaner or dirtier then the right, it looks bad

and to the poster who stated there not water tight, that because all the people who buy custom lights put them on themselves and dont get any weather striping/some type of sealent to keep water out. if done right they will be just as functional as any other lights installed. youll get no argument about the lighting as the pictures are all takin in day light where lighting is poor anyways

Wow thanks for that...interesting comment.

We all know already, good lord, learn to take criticism.

For the first poster, you posted on a PUBLIC forum, you're going to get opinions good or bad, whether you like it or not.

thanx but if you scroll up youll see that thats the site of the ebay seller, i allready mentioned it
volkl23 12-04-2005 06:39 PM

The tailights doesn't look too bad. Lot better than the super-ricer altezzas!
WRXRallyBlue 12-04-2005 09:33 PM

I don't think led lights are ricey at all.

No idea where you can get them.

joehack98 12-05-2005 12:04 AM

Agreed, but yes, they will probably leak. And yes their lighting is still poor, day or not, doesnt matter. You also want your tail lights seen in the day. I guess we are just trying to keep you from making a poor decision.

Oh, buy a stock light and polish them both, they will both look the same, and they will both look brand spankin new.

Lastly, "BE A MAN, DO THE RIGHT THING!"

nothing looks better than stock(jdm)
Kevex 12-05-2005 11:49 AM

the dude who crashed into tree in NZ has "Casa Blanca" tail light. Casa is a special classic looking impreza they sell oversea.
ATX25RS 12-05-2005 03:41 PM

these are copies of the denji lights. they used to be a popular choice on here, but the price made people shy away from them. originally they were only available from sweden iirc.

04REX85 12-05-2005 04:41 PM

have you seen these in person?

functional? please this forum wouldn't be here if functional parts were all that was available. 90 % of the body kits out there would be eliminated. as would most of the exterior and interior mods available. this place is here for people to share their ideas and learn about parts and what not.

he was asking for help not opinions. i know that is too much to ask from most members on here. but just because you think its crap doesnt mean someone out there doesnt think so. i am sure you have stuff on your car that people would consider crap, no one rags on you for it.

to each his own.
buzz367 12-06-2005 01:00 AM

not bad looking if you ask me
Handsdown 12-06-2005 01:28 AM

at least they don't have chrome on them. but i'd rather they didn't have what look like kitchen designer track lighting halogens for the backup lights. makes it look dumb.

and if you want ferrari taillights, get a ferrari:lol:

if you don't have the money for one, appreciate, don't imitate.
Billy 12-06-2005 02:53 AM

They used to come in chrome too apparently.
