I just sold my kamanari set up and am in the same boat as you. While I really like the prodrive lip, to me it only looks good when the car is super slammed (not practical) but I do think it would be sweet on your car. Have you considered teh Morette front lip? I think it looks amazing and understated, visionaryracing sells it. That might be a valid option. Otherwise, the OEM all paintted the same color would be clean. Good luck

So on a side note... what do rally drivers do to prevent scratching up the bottom side of their front bumper? I scratched my first one up pretty darn bad before I got a second one for free, and after some air time and a front-heavy landing in gravel, I have some serious battle scars. Any suggestions?

Dang, sorry to hear that enewtabie. I love the OEM front lip. I can't find a picture or the name of the kit enewtabie. But there is a kit that looks very similar to the OEM front kit. But instead of a 3 piece it is a 1 piece front lip with OEMish front lip styling.

I have destroyed my OEM lip three times. Well, actually I only "destroyed" mine twice. This third most recent one I just said eff it and didn't replace it. It's not so bad either. BTW, all three of mine were replicas. Glad I didn't spend the money on the real deal.

chargespeed, I have the same set up as you and you have to enter and exit driveways sideways at a angle not straight on or your gonna scrape. anyway I have been looking for a new front lip and found chargespeed by far the most race GT looking. Also I found a local custom body and paint guy jeff toberg and he is going to mold it in to the bumper and rivet a aluminum piece to the bottom so the lip won't grind off if I should scrape. Good Luck

The damage doesn't look that bad. Personally I don't think it would be worth it to drop $300 for a new one.
If you had a wagon I would have suggested the OEM front lip and rear. Besides the extra trunk space, this would be the other thing that would have made me choose a wagon over the sedan. Too bad it is close to $2k after shipping it from japan and having it painted. It looks fantastic in person.

you can get a replica of that front lip from primitive racing for pretty cheap...
sucks about your lip enew! :( it doesn't look too bad though...you could probably take it to a shop and get it touched up pretty cheap...if you're going to buy a new one, id go with the oem again...bugeyes just don't look the same without it.
actually...everything you did to your car, is what i plan to do to mine once i save up some cash (STi grill, full oem kit, and strakes)

Enewtabie, you know I have the same lip as you. But if I could do it again I would get the prodrive lip. The OEM lip I feel I'm sacrificing clearance space. I have to take it easy when going into any driveway that has a steep driveway, speedbumps, rain channels in the road and I still ocassionally scrap the middle half section. That must have been a really nasty driveway for you to mess up the side piece like that.

Quest, the strakes sorta take away from the flow. I don't really like them when i had them on after awhile.

i think the strakes look great with the oem lip...the angles of the back of the lip match up perfectly with the strakes.
either way, they are still a long way off for me.

They are rotas. I can't couldn't see myself spending $500 per rim for the advan RCIis for a cast wheel. One guy I know developed a hairline crack on one of his advan RCIIs recently and had to replace it recently. I really want a set of the UK300 rims though. When do you put yours on?

Need some help

I think I'm going to bite the bullet and change out my OEM lip for the Prodrive lip. Anyone know if the the Prodrive lip will cover up the two holes that was drilled in order to install the OEM lip? I want to make sure they're covered before I order the Prodrive lip. Also, about how much should I expect a local paint shop to charge to paint the Prodrive lip? I'm in the middle of making a small makeover for my ride. Getting an EGR rear lip to replace the rear OEM lip and then I'll have my new PFF7s coming :)

I found the PDF file for the OEM front lip install. I'd like to get some affirmations that the Prodrive lip would cover up the two holes that I drilled into my WRX for the OEM lip. Could you guys give me your take please? :)

that would be a concern i would have too. I know when i removed my oem lip on my old 02 there were some pretty large holes drilled out for plugs to hold the lip on. And a lot of scratches.
I guess you are just gonna run it a little scratched up though.. Good time to order the v7's! I will do no more mods to your car until the Rotas are gone!

$70 isn't too bad so I guess I would be looking at a little over $300 for the lip, shipping, and painting. Once I feel affirmed enough that the holes would be covered, I think I'll order it - I may post in the Private Classifieds to see if anyone wants to trade their Prodrive Lip for my OEM lip :)
Sounds like the Prodrive lip fits real snug once you get everything to stick right...
