Most of us? Good god, I really want to put something on my car that decreases the amount of light coming out of my headlights, thus degrading visibility. It makes the car look meaner, but works against the purpose of headlights in the first place [no matter how trivial the light it blocks].
What would they cost, anyways? $20? They're hunks of plastic. I'm sure it would be 3-10x that, but come on.

At least in the case of the pictured car, the affixed eyelids would actually block some light output. If I'm not mistaken, those are JDM projectors on the car. Meaning that they actually do block some, if not most, of the highbeam portion of the headlamp.
Now if they were mounted to USDM lights, I don't see where much, if any, light would be blocked. They (the eyelids) would, like you said, cover part of the turn signal area.

I have replica eyelids on my sti projectors and they don't block any of the high beam. I was surprised (that's why I got replicas, not too much money) but I put them on, took them off, and put the back on gain and could not tell the difference. I kinda like the look, if I get bored I'll just take them off.

I saw some liberal eyelids on ebay once, should've picked them up. I can't hate though, they are different in a sense. Vivid used to carry them, but I know how much everyone loves that vendor.

what is this blocking light crap !!! if you are using the stock head light configuration as they are meant to be used for all they block is a little of blinker ( turn signal ) light like there isnt enough to begin with I actually applied 8 year sign vinal ( spelling )in the same location and it actually concentrated the light so the slit was bright as hell and cost me almost nothing but some time with a heat gun
