SailRacer 11-20-2005 09:48 PM

Most affordable front air dam/lip thing.
Howdy.....yea I could shop around for a few hours and waste my time or I can just ask Subie people who know what they are talking about.

you

I want a CHEAP front air dam or lip tip of thing that will bolt onto my 2004 2.5RS.

I want a black or carbon fiber look, I am not going to paint it.

Please tell me what to buy, thanks.
CGM_WRX 11-20-2005 09:55 PM

EAuto used to have fiberglass V-Limited replicas for around $250.00.

Two fifty huh? For one of those things that just runs along the bottom of your front bumper?

O.k..........is that low? Or is that an average? I didn't quite think they would be that much.
SailRacer 11-20-2005 10:02 PM

I could use some more ideas......please?
Handsdown 11-20-2005 10:18 PM

Frost King Garage door lining/weatherstriping from home depot.

less than 20bucks and is infinitely more durable and replacable than any other front lip.
here it is on my JUN replica RS

But, I think I will look for the GReddy lip, thanks a lot for the help guys.
SailRacer 11-21-2005 09:09 PM

Well.....I found a whole bunch of front lips on ebay but, most of them are from England.

Have any of you ever ordered stuff from England?

He he....if only my wallet would allow that! :)
eric94501 11-23-2005 11:51 AM

Dude, I been looking for a front basic lip like the v-limited but not for $300 -$500.
hikeeba 11-23-2005 12:47 PM
Home Depot = $8.46 :)
Yep. You can use the garage door seal, or if you really want to get crazy-insane, roll over to the flooring dept and get some 4" vinyl baseboard material and some hardware. Check out the DIY mods.
grimm5577 11-23-2005 01:17 PM

they just don't make as many of these as they do for other cars. I got a OEM replica lip form my civic for $40 it fit perfectly!

$300 is tooooo much!
tommy_kha 11-23-2005 01:18 PM

300 is way too much
IIdiceII 11-23-2005 01:39 PM

you get what you pay for...its worth it to just save up the extra money and get something that looks good, fits good and actually does something instead of just sit on your bumper.
CGM_WRX 11-23-2005 04:58 PM

The people saying the OEM V-Limited is too expencive must no realize it is a true R&D part and not just something thrown together to look pretty.
SailRacer 12-06-2005 09:51 PM

I just want something that looks pretty.

it's R&D'd but this thread is not called "Most R&D'd front air dam" it's called most affordable. which the v-limited... as secksay as it may be, is not.
hikeeba 12-07-2005 09:07 PM

Home Depot lip. I'm going to try this in the spring. Check it out in the DIY mods thread.

mranlet 12-07-2005 09:50 PM

+1 to Home Depot being cheap and effective.

www.raceonusa.com has some cheap stuff and their fitment is pretty decent for the price. Ebay knockoffs and AAS kits are pretty much garbage when compared to something good like Greddy, Vertex, or Bomex, but they ARE cheap.

Another alternative is to buy a factory bumper from another similarly shaped car and graft them together or pop-rivet one on to another and add a trim strip to hide the rivets.

The term "most affordable" is not universaly defined. ;)
