NEDIV Divisional Roll Call part 1

jcroy66 06-26-2006 03:22 PM

NEDIV Divisional Roll Call
Just a couple weeks away - July 22-23.
http://www.nedivsolo.org/06divisional/index.shtml

So who all is going? I see Mike Shields and Corey on the entry list. Any other NASIOC'ers thinking about this event? Chang and Dan indicated they might go, that they were currently undecided. I see some other familiar non-NASIOC names too. So I'm thinking this might be fun. And it's close enough I think we could drive there after work on Friday (meeting the key "Phil has no more vacation time" criteria that is keeping us from the Atlanta DoubleCross this weekend). And it would let us avoid paying the waiver fee for Nationals, since we aren't doing a Tour this year.

On the other hand, going to this is clearly still more expensive than just paying the waiver fee. So if we do it, it would be for fun (so I'm trying to figure out which of our other drinking buddies will be there :D) and/or competition (and since STX looks pathetically small right now, I'm thinking we'd also probably want to figure out arrive-and-drives in more competitive classes if we go).

So who's going?? KC? Nate? Karen? Perera? Justin?
Butt Dyno 06-26-2006 03:31 PM

That's the only weekend in a 3 month span that I can see my folks, otherwise I'd be the 3rd car in STX. (not sure at all why the class is that small)

 I'm a SEDiv region member (Blue Ridge and Atlanta Regions).

Of course, I am probably the only person to be able to boast that I was the car owner for both the SEDiv champion (me) and the NEDiv champion (Pat Griffith) in 2005, and more importantly my cars won the same weekend (SEdiv #3 in Nashville with Jerry Grigg behind the wheel of the green terror was the same day as the NEdiv with Pat driving my black car)! ;)

I might go. With the dXc this weekend, an AI event next weekend, the Virginia Commonwealth Games on the 15-16th... it would be a nice break to stay home and chill that weekend. Plus my mom's b-day is the 25th.... but it's not like I can't stay home and chill during the week since it's summer, so I guess I can still be swayed. ;)

Karen
Sideshowbob 06-26-2006 03:49 PM

Waaaay too far for my lazy arse.
jcroy66 06-26-2006 04:01 PM

Karen, I'm pretty sure I knew you were a SEDiv member, but I figured you might go anyway. :) Heck, we're CenDiv members ourselves. :) But our car doesn't seem to like Peru - it keeps breaking there. And we get to see the CenDiv folks more often than our East Coast friends. So that's why I'm tempted to skip the CenDiv Championship and do the NEDIV one instead. :)
Corey 06-26-2006 04:15 PM

I'm going to cancel my registration. I'll be in Florida that weekend. Have fun everybody.

Corey #89 STS
CamaroFS34 06-26-2006 04:19 PM

Doing something fun with all that ProSolo money you've been racking up? ;)
solo-x 06-26-2006 06:15 PM

trying to figure out logistics. i would like to be there and if i am, i'll be running the CM. spin, cone or win!

if chang sees that corey isn't going to be there in STS that'll increase the chances he'll be there. maybe i can hook a ride with him again and take up some floor space...
The_Wolf 06-26-2006 06:17 PM

I'll be there in AS :)
MattNJ2.8 06-27-2006 07:44 AM

I'll be there in AS. Plus teh woman in ASL.

Nothing better come up, damnit, I already had to miss the DC Pro, (work), and Devens (wedding).
KC 06-27-2006 07:49 AM

I'm a solid 'maybe'. My wifes Bday is the 26th and there may be something planned for that weekend.

That and there's only 2 BS cars registered right now...
That and there's only 2 BS cars registered right now...
And we all know that kC's all about lots of BS.... ;)
KC 06-27-2006 10:11 AM

I will be the champ of BS in September, with my BS Jacket finally, and all the other BSers will bow to me after two days of BS competition in my BS Mazda.
MattNJ2.8 06-28-2006 08:12 AM

The entry list for this event seems a little shallow on top talent.

Heh, I guess that's good for me :D
ChrisDP 06-29-2006 01:08 PM

KC, I don't think you need to wait til September to be the champ of BS... weeee!

I'm gonna pass on this one, that's a hike for me and I don't have much in the way of vacation time. I'm probably gonna be out of luck for Nationals as well :(
KC 06-29-2006 01:25 PM

Good call. I should just make my own jacket now, huh? :D
MattNJ2.8 07-04-2006 10:53 PM

Bump. A couple of weekends away now.

I'm staying in the Clarion (listed on the Divisional home page http://www.nedivsolo.org/06divisional/index.shtml )
Scoobie Doogie 07-04-2006 10:56 PM

I'm not heading up to this one. A few of us are just going to hit the Mid-State (PA) Cone Killer Classic in State College, PA.

Matt,

Apparently some rooms are open at the Microtel in Seneca Falls if you want to save money and be a little closer to the site. Kevin, Dan and I are there with a couple other guys. The site looks pretty cool too, Kevin found some video, the place is huge. I also heard mention of bumps.....well if you've run at Nassua lately or CART then you won't have an issue with them. Should be a fun weekend.

Myself, solo-x and another NER member (not sure if he's on here) will be at the Microtel in Seneca Falls also. ~72 (double) AAA rate and when I checked they had singles, doubles and suites with fridge/micro available still.

Hmm, thanks for the tip. I'll see if I can move us over there, as well as the people that are rooming with us.

I replied to your post on "the other board" LMAO
jcroy66 07-13-2006 12:45 PM

Bump. One more week. Shields says he's in. KC and Karen, what about you guys?

(I still haven't decided, so still trying to figure out who else will be there!)
KC 07-13-2006 12:52 PM

Not I. Didn't have plans on going, and yesterday, I was told by work I may be going on travel within the next week or two. So with my luck, it would be on one of the two days I would need to travel.

new tires on the way
should loosen the car a lot
hope i don't spin it
KC 07-13-2006 04:16 PM

If you say tires as 'tars', then you have a nice Haiku there Nate!
solo-x 07-13-2006 06:17 PM

i grew up in michigan and indiana. it's 'tars' alright!
MattNJ2.8 07-20-2006 08:56 PM

final bump before tomorrow. Smell ya'all later

Results are up. Looks like it was a seriously long course!

solo-x 07-25-2006 10:52 AM

check out day 2 CM times. i had ftd until i told my co-driver that i left .4 out on the course. he had to go out and find it and a little more. sandbagging bastard.... not bad for breaking 3rd gear on friday's practice course, rebuilding the tranny and still fighting a fuel or ignition issue.

i was working the concrete section during your heat- i think it was you that had it loose through most every corner.. very cool to watch! great driving! that's a beautiful machine.

the AS battle was also very entertaining. gj dixon is the man.

i codrive my buddies evo9 in STU. i hate to say it, but i think the evo is potentially quicker overall than my 05 sti in STU trim. the steering/handling is almost telepathic. the difference is that the sti puts the power down sooner, and there's more of it when get back on the gas. an evo chassis with sti engine and diffs.. that's what i want!

thanks. it could have been either of us. i was #46, warming tires for #146. I had the lead after day one by nearly .2 seconds, but was a bit too conservative on my final run after coning my first two runs and not having my co-driver pushing me. (he spun on his first run then had a slow clean run) i didn't upshift on the short straight approaching the concrete and with the fuel and/or ignition problem we're having the car fell flat on it's face. i lost a couple of tenths right there. then i was late getting into the finish slalom and lost a couple more tenths.

yeah, gj is damn quick. he doesn't usually come up to my neck of the woods and one time he did and i didn't recognize the name. i couldn't figure out who this gj guy was that was fighting for top pax but i had a feeling i should. then kc reminded me he had won one of the revitup cities. :lightbulb:

you weren't the STU driver that went farming, are you?

nate - seriously glad none of the 4 cars weren't 3ft closer to the lights then they were as they left the paved surface and headed out to the jungle

Naw, wasn't him...but it was his co-driver. The car was fine, albeit a but dirty.

Dan, helluva weekend for you.

Next time I'll show up in a car that is actually faster than it was when it left the factory, and we'll have an interesting competition. :D Congrats to you.
ghostshadow 07-25-2006 10:51 PM

thanks matt!

the car is down 40hp and 60 ft-lbs on the dyno compared to similar setups. hugo and kev are going to take it to etown friday to see what the 1/4 mile says. might be a boost leak.

we watched the in-car of the excursion and it looked downright scary. he kept his foot in it when it started to go. newbie mistake.

there was a lot of crap to pull out the brakes before my run!
