New style air vents!
Ok not right now but i'm designing a new style airvent and will have some photoshop mockups tomorow of them to see everones oppion on them, They will be made of fiberglass and will be the cheapest ones on the market hopefully, I'm looking for a about the $75 range for the pair. I will also designing one to work with intakes that sit right below the vent to push more are in them and look better than the one already avaible. Please respond here if you would be interested in a new style one and please tell me what you think of the mockups when i have them done.

Well i couldn't get the photoshop to work right so i did a quick sketch.
This would be what the passenger side would look like and the top would be the part closest to the window.

how aboot a sketch of it on a hood? or maybe you could make one like hepcat helm is trying to get a GB on at this price. if you could do that i would definitly be interested.

If the price stays as promised, they're good quality, and they are actually designed to draw the air out of the engine bay, these are definitely going to be a hot seller. I'd seriously consider them.

Faraz, they are blanked out now, so they are designed to do.....nothing right now. Besides, he is (i think) setting these up to have the vent facing the driver, so the air will create a suction effect to draw the hot air out. (see Brians pic of his iced hood with open vents)

I'm in the process of making the mold for them and will hopefully have a prototype one made tomorow, it won't be made of fiberglass though but plaster of paris, but you will get to see what it will look like.

It somewhat like Bankheist side but back wards to let the air out instead of it but will sit as high as the 22b vents, If i can make these really good i might also be offering 22b replicas and fog light replicas and maybe even the prodrive foglight cover replicas.

I will be starting making the mold for the first prototype from the hoodvents on the car now and try to go from there. now how do i get both sides to match each other?hmm?

Mine do something ...the backing plates are gone...so mine do take hot air out ...I guess I just can't tell what they will do from the pic.

Well still working on the mold should be done with it in about 2 hours and hopefully there will be a store open by that time to buy some more supplies to make the prototype one.

Ok everone i got the first passenger one done and it shows somewhat it will look like but with some minoer changes, i will have a pic of it soon as my dad gets home with the camera. After i get peoples responses on this one will be the deciding factor if i will make a lot of them, and i'm looking at different materials to make these out of other than fiberglass, one will be press aluminum or maybe even machined aluminum. But i should have the picture up in the next hour.

I like the prototype - cleaner lines than the "double" vent we have now.
Where I live, I would be concerned about water getting into the engine area too easily with taht new design???

You should have no worry about water getting in the engine unless you have an air filter sitting right under the vent. I have ran both my vents and hood scoop open since i bought the car and have had no problems with water getting in.

I only got one made so far and that is shown in the pics above, i have finished making the mold for the second design(bigger hole and better looking) but haven't had a chance to lay the fiberglass yet, I got the flu i think, but should have it done this weekend.
