Painted V Limited lip... Yay or Nay? (Pics)

I'm not sure if I want to have a V Limited front lip painted or unpainted. What do you guys think looks better.
Here is a picture of the Painted lip. Sorry I don't know who the car belongs to.

Here is an unpainted one, I believe this car belongs to UKjon

Mine's unpainted, and looks great......but my car's black. I think that I like it unpainted on WRB though. My .02

whoa!
i don't like it painted in blue. i dunno... it might look good if you didn't have sti fog covers...
yeah if you just had regular fogs i think it would look alright.
i'm still partial to unpainted though.
besides, it's a LIP. it'll get scraped.

| CGM_WRX | 04-15-2005 02:37 PM |
I like the look of unpainted regaurdless of the color of the car. Not that painted looks bad by any means.
| BakedCookies | 04-15-2005 02:47 PM |
i think painted on any color other than black, makes it look like you took the car to maaco and they didnt bother to tape it up and just sprayed it..
out of place IMO

looks so hot painted, but will have to keep being repainted and repainted and repainted again. depends on pocketbook/paintshop connections, i guess.
looks hot, Aaron.

I say leave it unpainted until it is scraped all to hell, then clean it up and paint it.

You're right on the money there. I take it off for the winter, get it repainted, and bolt it back on in the spring.

I like it either way.
Painted makes it look like it belongs as part of the stock bumper, and unpainted it looks just as good.

Any updated pictures with the lip painted.... I need help! Preferably silver painted silver.
I'm leaning towards getting one in CF and leaving it be.
Thanks,
Ben

Get a carbon fiber one and in the middle (if you take off the little emblem) ..first paint the thing, but leave unpainted words STi....not sure if you can understand t hat though

Here is an unpainted one, I believe this car belongs to UKjon

FWIW,that one in the pic is carbon fibre:banana:
and its now lashed to the front of my 05

I'm not so sure that the plastic/composite versions last long enough to warrent having them painted
I know my c/f lip has acted as a 'kerb alarm' on more than one occassion but has so far survived unscathed + you don't have to worry about the stone chips too much:p

I won't be painting my carbon fiber V-lip anytime soon.
Exactly
I like it better painted too. It makes the whole package look more like one cohesive unit, rather than an added on after thought.
Of course carbon fiber is a different story alltogether.
I never liked the fake canards up front though.
If your car were mine I would:
-lose those canard front things for something that would be smooth and flow better with the lip.
-replace the side skirts with something that would flow better from front to rear.
The RA look or even the WRX sideshirts would be an improvement.
Thanks,
David

any pics of a painted silver one?

get it painted
| Thumper23 | 02-03-2006 05:39 PM |
wow, that looks really good
| Balishag | 02-03-2006 05:45 PM |
it looks too subtle painted, i almost cant tell that its on. id leave it unpainted with the sti logo in the middle
| wrxprowler | 02-03-2006 06:01 PM |
Painted is 100% better but its gonna get chipped and scratched.
| dr3wby | 02-03-2006 10:29 PM |
Wow painted looks really good in WRB but us OBP / JBP don't have to worry about paint :D
| darknightohio | 02-03-2006 10:33 PM |
Paint it then put some rockblocker on the lip.
| Steveee | 02-28-2006 07:29 PM |
definitely looks better painted.
| akinasdevil | 02-28-2006 08:18 PM |
Either way looks good in my opinion, but I know my V-limited lip gets scraped up pretty good and I'm glad it's not painted. I'm only lowered on JDM pinks which isn't that much lower than stock, but with the lip clearance makes all the difference.
| Steveee | 02-28-2006 09:32 PM |
I have the chargespeed v1 lip which hangs considerably lower, and have no scrapes or scuffs whatsoever. Maybe its just how some people drive? I dono
| Jeff B | 02-28-2006 11:00 PM |
Not what I expected, but I prefer the painted one. On the silver car, however, the black looked great. IMO.
