I'm reading the text as saying that the gift package is actually FREE for the first 200 people buying a new canadian-market impreza WRX/WRX STi after april 12th, 2004.

I'm not sure how much it is (or if it's even available) if you want to buy just the gift package. Maybe I'll swing by the dealer on the weekend to check ;)

I like that STi shift knob.....what's the over/under on them appearing on E-Bay? Any idea how much the "gift set" will come in at?

I dunno... $25,000 US sounds pretty steep for shift knob for a WRX, and the STi knob, $32G's US is pretty pricey too. :D

(sorry, I'm too lazy to do the US -> Canada conversion on the monetary figures)
wrxfanboy 04-23-2004 01:42 PM

Damn those are nice! How do you go about ordering the kit? Where are you getting those numbers reaubideux?

Whoops just checked the link and I feel left out now:furious:
Thumper23 04-23-2004 02:03 PM

neat

but that would burn like no other in the S. TX summers:eek:

Sorry, it was a poor attempt at humor... it said you get them free if you buy a WRX or STi... so the #'s I listed are close to the base MSRP for the WRX & STi in the US. Basically, you'll pay for the price of a WRX or STi to get the shift knob.

Like I said, I was just too lazy to conver to Canadian currency since this appears to be an offer only available in Canada.
srad711 04-23-2004 04:56 PM

iF ANYONE IN CANADA CAN GET ONE i WOULD LIKE TO BUY ONE.
MB38 04-23-2004 05:16 PM

I'd buy one in a heartbeat if it was reasonably (REASONABLY) priced.

swung by the dealer today, they indeed had large posterboards advertising this promo so it is -- genuine -- at least in Canada.

AFAIK, this is what the salesman told me - it is FREE for the first 100 WRX Sti's and the first 200 WRX's purchased after April 12th, 2004 (as it says in the link I posted)

SOC (Subaru of Canada) mails the package out directly to you after your purchase of a WRX / WRX Sti (from the canadian subaru dealership)

The promo package is NOT available at the dealership (yet)
wrxpunk53 04-25-2004 04:57 AM

sweet

I think the Sti alloy one in the promotion should be available eventually as it seems to be an official sti part:

Here's some pics comparing the two:

(the top one is the sti alloy? one, while the bottom two pics are the sti titanium one)

Yeah, if I lived in Japan like him, I'd have all those goodies too :)

BTW I'd love to have that STi knob ...
Butt Dyno 05-06-2004 01:56 AM

It can't be worse than the Knuckleball (best knob evAr), and that's not that bad in hot weather, even tho mine is a darker color.

john
jbogli 05-06-2004 12:44 PM

black knucleball
i had a black knuckleball and i got rid of it before it melted my hand off. I wish it didn't because i agree that it is the best.

I want that plaque. It would fit in nicely in the front of my coin tray.

Then I could say I have a Petter Solberg Edition, just like the BS R1 edition SOC did.
wrx78 05-06-2004 08:00 PM

does anyone know the dimensions of the plaque? I saw one on a wrx in sport compact car that said "STI Hunter". I think it would be cool to make your own personalized plaque
abaxter34 05-07-2004 01:26 AM

those were perfectly good shift knobs until there went and milled the shift pattern into the top of it. why do they always have to ruin nice shift knobs with those ugly shift patterns.
FryRice 05-07-2004 02:14 AM

is it the same size as the subaru momo knob?
Dark WRX 06-27-2008 04:44 PM
