Worth 160 bucks?

Ok, first of all when i payed for this i really thought that i was paying for a C-west carbonfiber replica scoop. Then once i sent him the money i finally got pics that worked and they were of this standard size scoop with the grill. I figured that i must have mislead him into thinking that was what i wanted but it was ok because i thought that it would keep the cops away and i liked the idea of the grill so i didnt say anything. He told me that there were a few imperfections and when i got it in there were, they are not too bad. The bottom of it was real nastly looking, not smooth at all but i have no idea how carbon fiber crap works so this could be normal, i know all about performance but just about nothing when it comes to exterior bling. The kicker was when it wouldnt even fit on my hood and i realized that i needed to like drill out the mounting holes that i asked for my money back. Well he has not responded but i know he is on vacation. Now i have asked for a refund and i would send it back in its original box. I just want to know what you guys think, is this thing worth 160 bucks shipped? With imperfections and need for customization. If it is worth 160 then i wont persue a refund so help me out guys. what do you think.

i would of sold you a scoop like that but from VIs for 150shipped or so i have mine in bubble wrap and never seen weather. Oh well its not bad but yes you did get ripped

Uhhh I think that is one of the fiberglass toped with carbon jobber ya got there. The last true carbon fiber scoop I saw has just as smooth a carbon finish on the bottom as it did the top.

Yeah, you can definitely see the chopped mat on the bottom. Not that it really matters. If you can't return it, see if you can sell it....maybe to a local honda kid! =) ....as a roof scoop! :lol:

So why do you buy things online without seeing pictures first? Doesnt greally give you much to go back and say hey, this isnt what I wanted. Next time you want to throw away money, send me a check and Ill make sure it gets thrown away properly. Or if you want to buy more things sight unseen I got a 3 acre lot of ocean front property in Arizona, willing to sell cheap!

Not to make thing more difficult then it really is but I would doubt that the guy would give you a refund. Sound like he knew what he saleing and just want to rip you off. I won't deal with a refund if I was that guy saleing, no I'm not a jerk but bet most guy on here would do the same thing. Your best bet now is Ebay or like the other guy say sale it to some honda kid as a roof scoop. You will probably take a hit on the price but it better then haveing it laying around or if you do get it on your car it would look pretty $hitty from looking at those pcitures. I been ripped before and I know it not a good feeling.Take this incident as a lesson learned, buy dumb once and you would buy the second time smarter. If this post sound like I'm a jerk sorry, I'm not trying to be just trying to help, good luck anyway!

I'm sure the buyer learned his lesson. First lesson hurts bad, but once that's over with you can look forward to better transactions.

I'm sure you could get $200 if you offered to help install it for a honda newb. Just get some rivets, silicone, and a hole saw (to make it functional). Heck, taking a hole saw to a Honda hood might make this whole episode worthwhile.

I have the same scoop, and it cracked after a month of use.

Yep i definatly got ripped. He asked another guy in the Wanted forums if he wanted to buy his carbon scoop and posted this picture that i am posting below. I jumped at it assuming this was the scoop, asked for more pics like a smart nasioc member, but then wanting it sooo bad i sent the money. Then i got the pics of what it was and i told you the rest in my first post. guy still hasnt returned any of my very polite requests for any info or refund. Oh well.

well i just got a reply from him, he says he is not taking it back because he disclosed all the information about it from day one and that it will fit if i work harder at it. Well i guess it happens to the best of us. Too bad, i really wanted that c-west replica.

I'm glad you got it the first time. There was a reason why I changed the second post to say double post because there was a problem with my computer. Well, I started typing that post before you posted the 'double post' one. So, no an idiot like me didnt think of it, My idiot self went ahead and started posting before you had the chance to fix it. Anywho, calm down Im just playing with you, we dont need to get all bent out of shape. I just really dont like having to read bad grammar, thats what the honda forums are for. yea i got my answer, i knew before i posted this. I just want the seller to look at it and see what he did and that i am not the only one that would have been unhappy with the way things turned out. He doesnt think he did anything wrong at all.

Yeah, look in the private seller forum, I think there is a sticky to post about scams and bad deals. If hes trying to do this as a little side business a couple negative reviews would really hurt his business. But then again Im not sure if he scammed you, fault is kinda 50/50, depends on all that was said prior to the sale really. But still was a bad business deal, if I was selling something I would at least allow a refund minus shipping charges, so post there and inform more to stay away from this guy. Hope you find a use or good way to get it off your hands.

Yea, i told him i would pay for paypal fees, shipping, and then some. I paid 160 and asked him for 135 back. It really is 50/50 because i allowed myself to be dooped into it, but what kind of a$$hole sells me this piece of crap for 160 bucks? i thought that for that kind of money i would be getting something made better than what he sent me. Because it was 50/50 i havnt mentioned his name just because i dont feel like having an argument in the forums like lots of people do, this is our business and if he wants to be a doosh the all i know is "what goes around, comes around."

No i will still sell it because it is still a carbon scoop. I hear that some of then require that you file the mounting holes. I just wont sell it for 160 dollars. Then i would be a ripper like him. I will just sell it for what it is worth. what do you guys think it is worth with the grill and everything?

looks like it is worth about 50 bucks. It is a piece of fiberglass wrapped in carbon fiber with a crappy mesh screen attached to it. I personally wouldn't pay 10 dollars for it, but that is just me and of course it wouldn't look too cool on my g35 now would it? :lol:
