Pic of my WRX with UK300 Lights!
Somebody who can take a 290K size picture and shrink the size down to fit into the i-club posting here, send me an email at []Steve Harvey and I will send you the file and then you can post it to this thread.
Trust me, you will want to see this picture! It's too cool.
OK, you can tell I'm pretty excited by it, but you see I'm on the road this week in California, my WRX is at Cobb Tuning (back home in Texas) doing the fuel system upgrade, they installed the UK300 lights today and sent me a pic via email, man I can't wait to get back home this week and back into the WRX!
Cheers, GoodFinder :)

Click here and it will take you to a view of the picture. Many thanks to dazz1 for putting the pic there for all to see. And, if anyone knows how to shrink the file size so that it can be posted right into this thread, that's cool too. So click on that link and let me know what you think!

Ken - Thanks. The combination of items at the front of the WRX (Zero/Sports front lip, STi foglight covers, APS-Cobb FMIC, and now the UK300 lights) is really coming together.
Kevin - I have not yet purchased the leveling switch/motor setup. That will probably be in one of my next rounds of "things to do with the WRX" soon.

looks really great with the lip and the APS/Cobb FMIC! I really like it...a lot! Any plans for HIDs? I love mine, i think that they woudl look like 1000 tims better than mine in your small beam lights! Plus when you get the level switch it will look like an Audi turning on!

adamsrs - Yes, at some point in the future, I want to move to HIDs. The biggest thing for me on the HID front is to make sure that the setup is truly oriented and optimized for LHD, and that there will be no "kinks" or "gotchas" down the road in using them. I've been told that just switching to the UK300 will give me better ability to see at night versus the OEM headlights on the WRX (plus the cool way they look on the car) so I reckon I'll find out personally once I get back home to Dallas and into the WRX again!
dazz1 - Thanks for putting the pic itself into the posting here. I gotta learn how to do that myself! I appreciate your help on the technical front. Yeah, I'm having a lot of fun with the WRX. It should make quite the impression at the track (TWS) next weekend.
Ah, well, it's off to customer meetings now. Back on-line this evening. Enjoy!

WOW - although i don't see myself moving to FMIC anytime soon, i know if i were to, i'd go with the APS/Cobb unit in black - you can hardly see the thing! and stealth is good.:D good looking car, goodfinder!:)

Ohhhh that looks so GOOD!! Where did you get your lights, and did you splice wires or did you use the adapter plugs?

Wow, Steve, your car really looks great! I've seen it up at Cobb a couple of times, and I always liked the Zero Sports lip and the Fikse wheels. Those headlights really bring it all together! Good luck at TWS and the Ultimate Street Car challenge later on!
P.S.- you might remember me, I was the young guy at Cobb with my friend that knows everything about 300ZXs. I remember you and he talked for a while.
-Good job:D

A little off topic but...
How do you find the fit of the APC-Cobb FMIC? Are you able to retain your fogs? How much if any cutting of the bumber bar was needed?
Looks great!

Kevin,
pics of my silver wagon with UK300s not convincing enough? :)
Atleast you have the guesswork figured out about how they'd look... I took care of it for you. If it was gonna look like poop, I'd be the one crying right now, LOL...

Just got back in town, picked up the WRX today from Cobb Tuning, and my computer is fixed (!) so I'm back online, the car looks great and runs even better! In response to the comments and questions:
Andres - thanks for the note, it's all coming together very nicely indeed.
smash0r - thanks, you're right about the balance between show and go ... I've behaved myself and haven't even touched the sound system!
BYBYV8 - these UK300 assemblies are not painted, it's a glossy black finish, looks very nice (IMHO) but of course I know that's a personal opinion kind of thing.
samowrx and Silverscoob - got them from Dan Dan Mermelstein at Vivid Racing/Vivid Wireless, (480) 966-3040, (it was a complete kit, everything included to get the job done, with good instructions, too) ... same place I've bought all my GReddy gauges and some other stuff too for the WRX ... Dan is very responsive and dependable.
bliu - thanks for the comments on the FMIC ... you're right, the stealth black turned out quite well.
Jeff - it will be fun at TWS, and we'll see how far the USCC ("Ultimate Street Car Challenge") applications goes, who knows maybe I'll be in California later this year for the event!
^jynx^ - I don't know if the Zero/Sports front lip will fit on a GC8, maybe one of the other folks here can say?
Murphy - to fill the front holes, I used "bumper plugs" from Eric Sklut at BumperPlugs.com (email address ) ... they do a lot of them for Porsches, which is where I first used them, and he does very high quality work.
Ferg - the fit of the FMIC was very good ... when I get the black powdercoated mesh grill to go in front of it, I'll have a little more DA sanding done ... not sure whether any cutting of the bumper bar was required, you can check direct with Budi or Josh or Trey at Cobb Tuning ... unfortunately, had to "lose" the fogs, but such is life!
2.0 guy - thanks for the pic, I think they look even better in the silver WRX!
25RS - thanks, now I hope my wife agrees that they look good, when I get home this evening from work!

Thanks! I'm sort of partial to the Blue, but silver is easy to care for...
Also, as far as I can tell, I'm the first guy with UK300s on a wagon... Luckily, the lights have enough attitude so the car looks good without the flared fenders of the sedan...
The sedan just looks MUCH meaner with the flares and the lights...

We did a photo shoot this morning at White Rock Lake in Dallas. Here is a copy of the picture that I am submitting to Sport Compact Car with my application to their "Ultimate Street Car Challenge" event. Now, this is the first picture that I have finally on my own attached to an i-club posting. Please somebody let me know the picture is indeed here even when it's not me logged in from my computer! Cheers, GoodFinder :)

Oooooh.........Ahhhhhhh........
Like I said....... good picture of the wheels too!
How was your trip to San Fran ?
If I'm not mistaken - small picture files get saved to the I-club server - its the big files over 51k or so that you have to have hosted somewhere else. I right clicked your picture and it showed an I-club address.

Thanks for the confirmation that the new picture here does indeed show up in the thread!
Yes, the Fikse Mach V wheels really do work well with the WRX.
My trip to San Francisco was productive but I'm still digging myself out of the resulting work backlog. (I'm a bit behind in email replies at the moment.) It was great to get back home and hop into the latest iteration of the WRX.
I'm especially looking forward to getting it on the track at Texas World Speedway this weekend.

Clean car with muscle to back up the attitude. Hopefully we'll all see it gobble up the asphalt in SCC soon. :)

kkeetha - Your RallyBlue292 looks real good, too. I saw on your website that you waited a while for mounting brackets for your Recaro seat upgrade. I'm in the same boat. The brackets for my Sparco Milano seats are still on backorder. But at least I don't have to pay for the seats until it all comes in!
chodaddy - I bought mine from Dan at Vivid Racing
2.0 guy - You're right, I took another look at the high res large print of the pic and something about the light that morning did give it a bit of a different hue (but as you say, still looks nice!)
dazz1 - Thanks for the pic hosting offer. I'm about to head out for a week of travel, so I'll hook up with you once I am back to a high speed connection.
Avedis - Thanks for the vote of confidence. I sent the USCC application in yesterday. We'll see if it makes the "first cut" (which is where the Sport Compact Car editors decide which cars to present to their readers to vote on)
samowrx and 2.0 guy - The Fikse Mach V turned out to be an awesome combination with the WRX. It's the best looking combo of wheel/tire/car I've ever owned, indeed.

Definitely! The Fikse wheels really look even better when they are on the car, versus by themselves or just a picture of them. I love the SSR Competition on the track, for their light weight, but on the street (and when I'm in a rain situation at the track), the Fikse wheels are really wonderful. Of course, they should be, at that price!
Speaking of current cool Subarus, in the July issue of Sport Compact Car magazine there are 92 entries for us to choose from (and vote on) in the "Ultimate Street Car Challenge" contest.
The five Subaru entries are:
#80 - Steve Harvey (that's me, GoodFinder)
#81 - Jason Lochhead (gmflex on i-club)
#82 - Brett Gordon (Bighurt1 on i-club)
#83 - Alan Card (Scoobyslack1 on i-club)
#84 - Mike Morita (??? anybody know him on i-club ???)
(You have to clip the actual ballot out of the physical magazine, no photocopies or emails or online voting, mark your 10 votes, and then snail mail it in to Sport Compact Car magazine.)
To ensure Subaru representation and participation in the event, we gotta get the votes mailed in!
