Plans for next season??
I'm curious if any of you Solo II guys would like to share your plans for next season. What class? Car? Etc.

Or is this request TMI? :)

Maybe. I'm thinking about it. Whether or not I get one remains to be seen.

Either stay in STX or build a CSP MR2 Spyder, or move to ESP........ I've kinda got some Hoppe-esque indecision goin' on at the moment!:p

KC, I was thinking the same thing. Going to run my car again next year to try to make a down payment for the Lotus for 2006. Gives a little bit of time for the SCCA to decide where the Lotus is going to go, and to see if it would be worth getting one. If you do get one next year though, I would love to maybe fly over there and co-drive sometime........ :)
trhoppe 08-24-2004 03:36 PM

Spec Miata or ESP/STU STi or both

No world challenge for tommy :(

That'll be no problem. What I'm banking on is people this winter will sell the car up here in New England.... and I'll pick it up used. :)

chances of auto-xing a Subie = 90%. chances of it being in GS = 15% chances of it being a GM6 = 25%. Nothing gets decided until after Nats.

and i will compete in the 100 Acre Wood next year, whether its in the Golf or a rental remains to be seen.
Fred 08-24-2004 04:07 PM

Unleashing the FURY of the GC6 Impreza on the rallycross circuit (wherever that is).

Unleashing the fury of the GM6 Impreza on the local autocross club - in GS.

Changing my mind at least 10 times throughout the year.
anders8 08-24-2004 04:15 PM

Plans for next year: some rallycrosses. Detail and tuning upgrades, many small projects on the rally car. Example: I've been working on actually sealing the cabin air-tight. Unbelievable amount of air passages when the interior is stripped out. Hold off on rally for a little while and get more money. :)

Help organize some rallies, measure some routes, choose roads, notate roads, rally web sites, behind the scenes stuff.
KC 08-24-2004 04:41 PM

Well to be truthful.. this year might be my last for a little while. I could go one of many ways. Elise would be nice... but I really want to get into clubrally...

We'll see what happens this winter.

Achilles38WRX 08-24-2004 05:47 PM

i'm still considering something smaller and rwd for auto-x, track days, etc. s2k? miata? probably take most of the NVH parts off the wrx, use it for most daily driving.

still undecided i guess.
Butt Dyno 08-24-2004 06:29 PM

Miata track ho, and occasional "screw around in ES/STS2" car

Coilovers, more STX, hopefully better results (damned Minis) and going to a couple national events to get my ass kicked by some strangers.

lotus elise in SS, hopefully.
PKer 08-24-2004 06:38 PM

My goal for next year is to be make it to nationals and be competitive in STX.
The car is prepped for it, just need to get my times down.

I'll probably still have my WRX, run it in STX most likely and daily drive it.

I'm planning on more clubrallies in my eclipse, hopefully the full cendiv schedule (minus sno*drift, + 100aw). G5 all tha way baby!

I plan on driving both cars until I crash them and have to get something else. If I crash the WRX first I'll likely get a big pickemuptruck to tow the eclipse, if I crash teh eclipse first I'll likely part it out if its not repairable and prep the WRX for PGT.

Thats pretty much where I'm at. I do need a little more "prep", but I'll go to national events anyway, if nothing else, for the experience.
I'm still about 1-1.5 seconds behind MK on a good day, so I have a ways to go. and my 215/45/16's are helping much--will have 225 17's soon

I beat him by over 2 seconds at the DC Pro.

Oh, you meant "most STX people" ...

Next year, I plan to further prep and run the SM Evo, at least locally. Above the local level, I may look for an Evo/STi codrive opportunity if they remain classed in ESP.

I'll be whoring rides at occasional autocrosses in anyone's car who'll let me, particularly DrBiggly.

Going to focus on rally and rallycross. I'm seriously considering running Targa Newfoundland in 2006 (likely in the Turbo Legacy) so there will be a lot of work to do in prep for that.

...waiting to find out if the SCCA Runoffs have yet another conflict with World Challenge, as there has been 4 of the last 5 years. If there is, I may sell the Miata and go with a different car.
jcroy66 08-25-2004 11:56 AM

Car? Same.

Class? STX (currently planning on running open at Tours and Pros. If I take home a jacket this year at Nationals, then perhaps open there too; if not - STXL at Nationals).

Mods? Whatever my "mechanic" recommends. ;)
Draken 08-25-2004 12:34 PM

I imagine the STi will go to BSP for next year, so I'll prolly run STU, and save some tires costs. I hope to run more national events.

If i pick up my super secret winter beater, I might run some STS too.

Guess I'll be using the Turbo Legacy for rallyx then!

For next year probably STX local/regional. Hope to take some lube and head out to Nats next year. :)
