Plastic Covers for Morette Headlighs

Does anyone know where to get these?

Here are the pics of the Morette Light covers for the Legacy GT model. I think they look tight, kind of like a BMW headlight. Plus, the rock protection would be invaluable.

Note: these covers are not the same as the plastic headlight protectors that can be baught at a Subaru dealership. As you can see, these covers come with a black plastic frame that screws onto the lights. The person who originally posted these pics said manufacturer is listed as "giallo". If anyone knows where we can get these covers PLEASE post here or email me. Thanks.

DAMN! Those are very nice!

I wonder if I can get the Morrettes for the Impreza and slap on those carbon fiber looking covers.........hmmmmmmm......

BMW-goodness!!!:D
jacobhorn 09-21-2001 08:03 PM

That may be what I will have to do if I can't find these covers. I think the clear plastic covers sold by the dealership would help make the lights look more flush with the front of the car.

DUDE!

How/Where did you get those?

That would look so incredibly high class on a Legacy GT. Does anybody have a picture of what that would look like?

I sure do hope someone can find out where to get those! I really hope they are polycarbonate too! Might look cool smoke/tinted too. Or even maybe blue tinted?

i was told the normal covers don't hold onto the morettes unless you were to screw them on.
Blindeye_03 09-24-2001 08:12 AM

jacobhorn- Where did you get the morettes?

subarumantoo 02-06-2002 01:25 PM

Awesome! I will be the first to purchase them. I want CLEAR for 2000RS with Morettes. I don't mind if I have to screw them in place or whatever. Please keep us up to date! Thanks a million...

Yuusaku, how does one get those covers? I have a catalog I picked up in Britian with those parts but was told they are not available in the US. Do I need to go through a Eurpoean/Australian dealer to get them?

I'll find a way to *make* them fit my morettes; my inner lens glass broke and replacing them is a major pain.
North Ursalia 02-06-2002 06:10 PM

The covers that yuusaku posted a photo of will not fit the GC8 Morettes without *HEAVY* modifications. So heavy in fact, I have not yet gotten them to fit ;).

Nope, I'm him (that has been one of my nicknames for a long time). This is a job for a heat gun ;).

Heat gun and a Dremel tool. Nobody manufactors Lexan covers already made to fit the GC8 Morettes?
North Ursalia 02-07-2002 01:40 PM

That's what I'm using ;).

I wonder how much it would cost to have a "one time" run of custom made Lexan covers for the GC8 Morettes? I wonder how many people have the dual headlight conversion that would be interested? I bet if we could get 200 people to purchase them maybe...
jacobhorn 02-07-2002 03:41 PM

I am still very interested in covers for my Legacy Morettes.

TaiChih 02-07-2002 04:17 PM

Brian, don't bother. I already wasted $60 to try to get them to fit and the Morrettes are thicker thean the stock lights,so it will not fit right. I'm working on getting some custom made for the morrettes that'll snap right in.
hoodwho 02-07-2002 06:48 PM

make one for me too! :)
west_aust 02-07-2002 08:24 PM

if you can get something like that done for gc8 i would buy them im pretty sure

can't you remove the front of the morettes and have a clear one with a silver back under it between the projectors custom done? like one a bmw
subarumantoo 02-11-2002 08:47 AM

Yea, like how the BMW headlights look...
TaiChih 02-11-2002 11:53 AM

Do you want them to cost around $75 a pair or $200-$300 a pair. I just looking to make something that'll protect the lens from getting chipped and keep the stock lens contour of the GC8 body style. AND just snap on. You'd be on your own for making that complex portion of the lights.:D;)
subarumantoo 02-12-2002 08:26 AM

Yea, the $75 protectors will be OK...
