I did and search and found alot of info on pricing and how "good they look"
I want a set but not for the looks, I want to know how well they work when installed. Please share your experiances with these Visors if you have or had them installed on you Impreza Sedan..
Thank you in advance,
Natchez

I have a set of these rain visors on both my wagons (bugeye REZ and 05 Legacy). If the rain is coming straight down, the rain visors will block some drizzle and light rain. They will not stop any rain that's coming at an angle. But what rain visor will? They will stop the rain from dropping immediately on to your leg.
The rain visors also increase wind noise slightly. It's much more apparent in my WRX than it is in my Legacy. I attribute the difference to the design and quality differences between the 2 cars.
So, on a scale of 1-10 (1 = useless crap) I would give the rain visors a 4 or 5.
btw: The rain visors are not just a JDM accessory, they are offered in Europe as well.

how do these visors mount since our windows are frameless?
I would think if the visors were mounted to the car itself you wouldn't be able to open your door without clipping the visor with your window...

I have them on my wrx. and yes they are really noisy. i have been told that this is why they dont sell them in the usa SOA won't becuase of the noise.. but who knows if thats true or not.
anyhow they mount to the upper frame under the weatherstripping IIRC. mine have lost a few clips and hte double sided tape isnt quite holding the rear end down. maybe thats why my noise is real bad, but you can't hear it over a decent exhaust.
I really like them, I can crack the window 2" in a downwpour and not get wet its nice when you do not have air conditioning :) I'd rate them a 7 or 8 on the above posters scale.

Although I gave them a relatively low functional rating, I love the rain visors on my cars. They are totally worth it given the fact I can drive with the windows open while it's raining.

I have them on my WRX as well. Yes, you will notice that it is louder. You can crack your window when it's raining and not have it get all wet inside. I like mine, I'd give it a 7/10.

haven't had any rain here yet.. but i like the way mines look. only a little more wind noise

my impressions
they are NOT noisy... definitely don't notice a difference if there is one
a few raindrops get in if its anywhere lower than 1" (ie enough to get a breeze going...)
the real downside I see is that if your car is already soaked and you have the windows down (like after washing your car) lots of water drops come in
but they are fairly attractive looking

With this picture it looks like they barely cover the rear windows. I understand that they really can't go any further down the rear window, but they look a little goofy from this particular angle.
Vendors: I'd be game for a GB on them!

Group buys for the rain visors never end well...most of them break in transit. Your better off having them packed and shipped once.

I don't find mine make any added noise, If attached properly with the clips and double stick tape. In fact I find in some cases they help reduce nosie. I don't like to drive my car with the windows down on the highway (when it's not raining) due to all the wind noise, with the rain guards I can roll the side windows down about a inch and open my vent. This allows good air flow thru the car and reduces the amount of wind noise you get from the windows being open. Before I got the rain guards I would leave the windows up and open my sunroof to help air flow, but at highway speeds the sunroof would make too much noise also.

The people that are complaining about noise... do you hear this extra noise with the windows up or down? I don't mind a bit more noise if the window is DOWN, but UP, if there is more noise, it probably means drag has noticeably increased = bad...

With the windows up you can hear them, but not that much of a difference. With the windows down however, it is a lot louder. It is a whoosh, not a howl, but it is annoyingly louder. Mine were installed exacty as the pictures show, using all clips and double sided tape, so proper installation is not an issue here...

I got mine from Jhot. I still get wind noise, but I'm not sure if it's due to the rain guards or the '99 mirrors.
I never had a wind noise problem until I ditched the older '95 mirrors for the newer style. I did the "felt mod," but the problem persists on the drivers side. :(
I did notice that it was much quieter in the car with the drivers side window open at highway speeds with the rainguards on.

Can't comment on what other Vendors have; but what JapanParts supplied in our recent GB were the "Real Deal" JDM sets; these are a clearer plastic than knock-offs and have S=U=B=A=R=U molded into the lens above the Door
Very classy Part; over 70+ people bought these in our last Group Buy and nothing but positive feedback received back about these

i got mine from japanparts also, but it took a little while longer since i ordered it on the very last GB day.
btw: mine does make wind noise, but that's due to the clip or something pushing the window outward just enough so that it doesn't seat up to the triangle. with the window down i can't tell a difference.

Make sure the area under the tape is clean and degreased. Also...peel the tape from the middle of the car towards the 2 ends.
